Updating previous reports, the San Diego Padres acquired SS Jose Rondon, 2B Taylor Lindsey, RP R.J. Alvarez and a player to be named from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for CL Huston Street and P Trevor Gott.
Fantasy Tip: The Padres will likely go with Joaquin Benoit at closer, but the team is shopping him as well. Alex Torres could also figure into the mix. Grab Benoit in mixed leagues immediately and pick up Torres in NL-only leagues.

San Diego Padres RP Alex Torres became the first player in MLB history to wear the newly-approved headgear for pitchers Saturday, June 21, during a relief appearance against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He ordered it last month and began wearing it occasionally while playing catch last week. "The difference between how this hat and the regular hat feels isn't much," Torres said. "I tried it before using it in the game, playing catch. It doesn't feel really bad. It doesn't feel like how it looks on my head."

The Tampa Bay Rays recalled RP Alex Colome from the minors Wednesday, May 29, to help out their bullpen. The team will need another starter for Saturday, June 1, and SPs Alexander Torres and Chris Archer are the candidates.
Fantasy Tip: Torres was called up recently, but he was used out of the bullpen. Archer is probably the more realistic option after Jake Odorizzi was sent down. Look to add whoever gets the call in AL-only leagues, at least.

The Tampa Bay Rays placed SP David Price (triceps) on the 15-day disabled list with a left triceps strain Thursday, May 16, and recalled SP Alexander Torres from the minors in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Torres could be used to help out in the bullpen in the meantime, so Chris Archer remains a candidate to come up to start Monday and for however long Price is out. Jake Odorizzi pitched Wednesday, so he's on turn, but he pitched poorly in his outing. Archer is the best bet to fill the vacant rotation spot for the short term, and he'll be a popular waiver wire target in AL-only leagues. He's worth a look in deep mixed formats, as well, depending on the matchups.

The Tampa Bay Rays recalled SP Alexander Torres from Triple-A Durham Thursday, May 16.
Fantasy Tip: Torres could make a spot start in place of David Price (triceps) Monday, but the Rays might be bringing him up to help out in the bullpen in the meantime. Chris Archer remains a possibility to come up for a spot start or two. Both pitchers are worth owning in AL-only leagues, even if it's temporary.

Tampa Bay Rays SP David Price (triceps) was diagnosed with a strained left triceps muscle and is likely to miss his next scheduled start Monday, May 20. Price will be re-evaluated Thursday, May 16. "It just felt (like) tightness," Price said. "It wasn't like excruciating pain, but I've never felt anything like that before. My gut feeling, I feel OK right now. I don't think it's too bad."
Fantasy Tip: It's unclear at this point if Price's triceps ailment will cause him to miss more than one turn in the rotation. Meanwhile, Alexander Torres, Chris Archer and Jake Odorizzi are all options to come up from Triple-A Durham to fill in for price. If it's just a spot start, Torres probably makes the most sense. If not, Archer is a good speculation in cavernous mixed leagues and AL-only formats.
