Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (foot) will be in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Nick Tepesch Friday, June 24, and is batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has been out of the lineup over the last two games but was able to pinch hit. He is hitting .339 with two home runs and eight RBI this month and should be a starting option in all leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen and OF Starling Marte (foot) are out of the lineup Thursday, June 23. OF Matt Joyce is hitting fifth, and OF Sean Rodriguez is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Joyce has two homers and nine RBI in 36 June at-bats. He's a low-end option against Albert Suarez. Rodriguez is hitting .196 this month, and he's an underwhelming option in DFS.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (foot) did not start Wednesday, June 22, against the San Francisco Giants, but he made a pinch-hitting appearance in the eighth inning and grounded out.

Fantasy Tip: Keep Marte reserved in all fantasy leagues and DFS play until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Marte left the game Tuesday, June 21, because of left foot discomfort, so stay tuned for updates on his status over the next few days. For daily contests Wednesday, Joyce is an intriguing option because of his six home runs and .988 OPS through 91 plate appearances against right-handed hurlers this season.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (foot) left the game Tuesday, June 21, against the San Francisco Giants in the eighth inning due to left foot discomfort. He was evaluated by the team's medical staff before departing.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has been banged up recently, and he could have simply been lifted with the game well out of hand, too. When there is an update on the severity of his injury we'll bring it to you. DFS players and those in daily fantasy leagues will want to avoid Marte until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (eye) did not start Saturday, June 18, against the Chicago Cubs for the second consecutive game. However, he came on as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and he was able to remain in the game, finishing up in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Wait to see Marte officially return to the starting lineup and make it through a full game without any setbacks before trusting him in the active lineup in weekly fantasy leagues and DFS play.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (face), OF Gregory Polanco and 1B John Jaso are out of the lineup Saturday, June 18. 1B David Freese is hitting fifth, OF Matt Joyce hits sixth and OF Sean Rodriguez hits seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Freese is hitting .349 against lefties this year, and he's a decent flyer against Jon Lester. Joyce hits left-handed, but he hits lefties to a .313 clip. He's a decent low-end grab, too. Rodriguez's production has hit a freefall, but he hits .289 against lefties. He's an iffy low-end flyer.

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (face) has bruising and swelling under his left eye but no vision problems.

Fantasy Tip: Marte should return soon. He's a high-end fantasy option because of his cross-category contributions, but fantasy owners would like to see an uptick in the power department. Marte has just six long flies this year. Stay tuned for updates.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte (face) was not available off the bench Friday, June 17, for anything other than maybe running, according to a team trainer. His injury is still being evaluated.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has missed the last two games now, but his injury isn't expected to keep him out long. He hasn't shown much power (six dingers) but is contributing nicely across all other categories and is a must-start in all fantasy formats when he's in the lineup. Stay tuned for updates on his condition.
