Cardinals | Sam Bradford rested and ready

Sun, 17 Jun 2018 18:30:36 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford (knee) saw more reps during team drills as minicamp progressed, and he said limiting his reps has helped him prepare physically and mentally. "I can really build on what we had done here and coming to training camp ready to go," Bradford said. "I feel like we've done a great job of sticking to the plan," Bradford said. "I think the plan has worked and my body feels really good right now."

Fantasy Tip: He is expected to open the year as the starter, and while Josh Rosen will be waiting in the wings, Bradford can be a midrange QB2 as long as long as he has the starting gig.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford likely to be Week 1 starter

Fri, 15 Jun 2018 16:02:46 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford likely will be the starting quarterback for the team's Week 1 game even though QB Josh Rosen performed well during offseason workouts, in the opinion of AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was limited during workouts but should be a full participant when training camp starts. He has played well in the past but would not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback. Rosen has a chance to start at some point in 2018 but would only be a keeper league option.

Cardinals | More practice for Sam Bradford

Tue, 05 Jun 2018 14:28:47 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford's (knee) practice repetitions are expected to increase in minicamp next week. He is on schedule in his rehabilitation, according to head coach Steve Wilks, and Bradford likes how he feels physically and mentally.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Bradford is on track to start the season as long as he doesn't run into any hindrances in his recovery. One setback or a trend of bad play could catapult Josh Rosen into the starting spot. Still, Bradford is a viable QB2 in what is seemingly an underrated offense.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford still the starter

Fri, 11 May 2018 19:25:58 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford is the starting quarterback, head coach Steve Wilks said Friday, May 11, but Wilks added that he wouldn't hold back QB Josh Rosen.

Fantasy Tip: Wilks simply reiterated what he said when the Cardinals drafted Rosen. Bradford will likely open the year as the starter, and he can be a solid QB2 as long as he is healthy and running the show. Rosen's value is limited to dynasty formats for now.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford remains QB1 for now

Thu, 26 Apr 2018 22:43:23 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford remains the team's projected Week 1 starter ahead of first-round pick QB Josh Rosen, according to head coach Steve Wilks, though he indicated that could change.

Fantasy Tip: Whoever lines up in Week 1, Bradford is most assuredly a bridge QB now, effectively keeping the spot warm for Rosen. How long that will be the arrangement is unclear, but Rosen's selection drains any fantasy value Bradford might've had.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford not having problems with knee

Thu, 19 Apr 2018 13:21:56 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford (knee) is not having any problems with his knee and has been limited during offseason workouts because there is no reason to rush things in April, according to head coach Steve Wilks.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford probably will wait until training camp before he is a full participant in practices. He has had some success during his career but has dealt with many injuries since entering the NFL. He probably can be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Tue, 17 Apr 2018 19:05:02 -0700

Cardinals | David Johnson has high hopes for offense

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 15:30:25 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson said he believes the Cardinals can have the top offense in the NFL in 2018 if QB Sam Bradford can stay healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson should be ready for the start of the 2018 season and will be a big part of the running and passing game. He likely will be a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues. Bradford has struggled with injuries during his entire career and should only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford's knee feeling strong

Fri, 16 Mar 2018 19:05:41 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Sam Bradford (knee) said his knee is feeling strong despite all the injuries during his career. "I've been through a lot with it, but all I can tell you is how I feel right now and really where it's gone since I had the procedure in November," Bradford said. "It's done nothing but get better and I feel good at the moment."

Fantasy Tip: Bradford will have some weapons to work with in Arizona, but his health is a major concern. Grab him as a QB2 and hope he can last the season.

Cardinals | Sam Bradford to join Arizona

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 11:30:21 -0700

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford plans to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has dealt with injuries for most of his career, so this would be a risky signing for the Cardinals. He will have a solid group of pass catchers to work with in Arizona but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues.

Bills | BUF may consider Sam Bradford, Case Keenum

Mon, 12 Mar 2018 09:06:35 -0700

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QBs Sam Bradford and Case Keenum could be options for the Buffalo Bills during free-agency.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills likely will be looking for a veteran quarterback since they traded Tyrod Taylor last week. Bradford may be the more likely option for the Bills since Keenum will receive interest from several teams. Both quarterbacks probably would be considered No. 2 fantasy quarterbacks if they signed with the Bills.

Vikings | Sam Bradford intends to play

Thu, 22 Feb 2018 14:52:01 -0800

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford wants to play next season.

Fantasy Tip: Several teams will be looking for a quarterback this season, but it is not known if Bradford will be able to find a starting job. He would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he starts for a team.

Vikings | Mike Zimmer not sold on Case Keenum?

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 12:19:54 -0800

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Case Keenum's future with the Vikings is in limbo. Head coach Mike Zimmer said the Vikings will go through the process of determining who their starting quarterback will be next season. Keenum and fellow QBs Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford are all in the running.

Fantasy Tip: Keenum deserves to be the top candidate to start in 2018 after his coming out party that led the Vikings to the NFC Championship. Minnesota does have three gunslingers with starter caliber, but none of them are reliable week-to-week starting fantasy quarterbacks.

Vikings | Sam Bradford activated for Divisional Round

Sat, 13 Jan 2018 09:36:24 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford was activated to the active roster Saturday, Jan. 13, after practicing each of the last two weeks without incident. TE Kyle Carter was waived in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has not played since Week 5, but he will likely be the backup to Case Keenum in Sunday's showdown with the New Orleans Saints. With Keenum playing so well in his stead, it is unlikely Bradford will receive anything besides mop-up duty in the postseason barring an injury to Keenum.

Vikings | Sam Bradford's status still up in the air

Sat, 13 Jan 2018 07:41:12 -0800

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he has not decided if QB Sam Bradford (knee) would be active for the team's Divisional Round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints Sunday, Jan. 14. He would have to be removed from the Reserve/Injured list and an adjustment to the 53-man roster would need to be made.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmer said Bradford is healthy enough to play if necessary after participating in all three practice sessions this week, as well as two sessions last week. That being said, neither Bradford nor Teddy Bridgewater have any fantasy value at this point backing up Case Keenum.

Vikings | Sam Bradford to return to practice next week

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 10:00:25 -0800

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Wednesday, Dec. 27, that he expects QB Sam Bradford (knee) to be able to return to practice next week.

Fantasy Tip: Zimmer only mentioned Bradford could return to practice but did not appear certain whether or not his Week 1 starter would be activated for the playoffs. Case Keenum has earned the right to take this team as far as he can this season, and there's no guarantee Bradford - or any of the Minnesota quarterbacks, for that matter - will be back with the Vikings in 2018 as they are all in the final year of their contracts.

Vikings | Minnesota unlikely to franchise tag QBs

Fri, 22 Dec 2017 10:02:43 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford and Case Keenum aren't expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Andrew Krammer.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Keenum's stellar play in 2017, it'd be an extreme stretch to say he is worth franchising, especially for a team like the Vikings, who haven't used the tag on a player since 2011. The franchise tag is expected to cost around $22 million in 2018 and Minnesota tends to be frugal, so it is conceivable the team opts to go with Teddy Bridgewater and an early-round draft pick at the position should both Bradford and Keenum ask for too much.

Vikings | Sam Bradford has knee scope

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 20:27:47 -0800

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in hopes of relieving pain and discomfort. The team is still reportedly deciding whether or not to place Bradford on the Reserve/Injured list - a move that would end his season.

Fantasy Tip: It seems highly unlikely at this point Bradford will play again this year. And given the fact his contract runs out at the end of the season, the Vikings could decide to move on from him if Teddy Bridgewater is able to make it all the way back from his own knee injury. Then again, Bridgewater is also in the final year of his rookie contract. Case Keenum will draw the start in Week 10 versus the Washington Redskins, but nothing is for certain beyond that.

Vikings | Sam Bradford still a candidate for IR?

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 09:13:08 -0800

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is reportedly visiting Dr. James Andrews again this week and the team is discussing whether or not it should place him on the Reserve/Injured list, according to team sources.

Fantasy Tip: Owners in deep leagues who have been holding out hope for Bradford's return may need to move on, as he simply does not appear to be making a progress. It's also rarely a good sign when a player visits Dr. Andrews. It's quite possible we have already seen the last of Bradford this season.

Vikings | Sam Bradford's return remains uncertain

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 07:25:59 -0700

A timetable has still not been established for the return of Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee).

Fantasy Tip: Head coach Mike Zimmer said last week that he believes Bradford could resume playing before the end of the season but he was unable to participate in any practice sessions this week. Case Keenum will start Week 8's game against the Cleveland Browns and is worthy of fantasy consideration for two-quarterback leagues or as a bye-week replacement.

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 09:53:37 -0700

Vikings | Sam Bradford still not practicing

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 09:17:31 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 25, and has reportedly not done so during the media window in over two weeks, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was electric in Week 1, but the rest of his season has been a reminder of how frustrating he can be to own in fantasy. In all but the deepest of leagues, he should be on the waiver wire and remain there at least until there is some word of him practicing. Case Keenum will draw another start in London in Week 8 versus the Cleveland Browns.

Vikings | Sam Bradford could return this year

Sat, 21 Oct 2017 05:46:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer believes QB Sam Bradford (knee) will be able to resume playing later this season.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was ruled out for Week 7's game versus the Baltimore Ravens after not practicing at all during the week and no official timetable has been established for his return. Case Keenum will continue to serve as the Vikings' starter in his absence but only has value in two-quarterback leagues or as a possible bye-week replacement.

Vikings | Sam Bradford to sit versus Baltimore

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 10:49:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) has been ruled out and Case Keenum will start again versus the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: As expected. Keenum is not an advisable streaming option most weeks and this one is no exception. Bradford has yet to practice since aggravating his knee injury in Week 5 and remains without a timeline. It might not be long before Teddy Bridgewater gets a chance.

Vikings | No practice for Sam Bradford

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:09:16 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) missed practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: It seems as though Bradford will be sidelined for at least this week. He'll have some tough competition to best when he returns, too, with Teddy Bridgewater (knee) on the mend and Case Keenum playing well. Still, no Vikings quarterback can be trusted as a consistent weekly starter and Keenum is comfortably in QB2 territory this week versus a stingy Baltimore Ravens pass defense.

Vikings | Sam Bradford ruled out Week 6

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 09:56:10 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) will not play in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: It was painful to watch Bradford in Week 5, as he was pulled right before halftime when it became obvious he was struggling to protect himself and hurting the offense at the same time. Considering he didn't look any better than he did after three weeks off, he may not be coming back anytime soon. Case Keenum will get another start and figures to be a serviceable option for those owners who are in a pinch due to Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson being on a bye.

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 13:16:38 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was not at practice Wednesday, Oct. 11, as he continues to recover from his knee issue.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford aggravated the injury Monday night, so don't be surprised to see the Vikings give him another week off and go with Case Keenum again. Keenum has held his own this year and doesn't rule out Stefon Diggs (if healthy), Adam Thielen or Kyle Rudolph as Week 6 starters.
