Korean League | Wilin Rosario signs in Korea

Fri, 22 Jan 2016 08:41:27 -0800

Free-agent 1B/C Wilin Rosario (Rockies) signed a one-year, $1.2 million deal with the Hanwa Eagles of the Korean League.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario still has big power potential, but it appears his fantasy stock is moot in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is the value pick you should run with on FantasyScore tonight. Rosario has a slash line of .265/.311/.398 with two of his six home runs against lefties in 2015.

Rockies | Three Rockies lefties out

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 10:50:15 -0700

SS Cristhian Adames is starting at shortstop and hitting second, 1B Wilin Rosario is at first base and is hitting cleanup, while OF Kyle Parker is in right field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: If you're going to choose a sleeper pick on FantasyScore among this trio, go with Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) against the lefty in a run-producing spot in the lineup at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Rockies | Three Rockies regulars out

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 15:47:55 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes, OF Corey Dickerson and 1B Justin Morneau are not in the lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates left-handed SP J.A. Happ Tuesday, Sept. 22. SS Cristhian Adames is starting at the 6 and hitting second, OF Brandon Barnes is starting in left field and hitting eighth, while C Wilin Rosario is starting at first base and batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Happ has been tough on all teams since being traded to the Pirates, but he'll face a new challenge entirely at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Still, Adames ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) and Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) remain nothing more than desperation flier picks for salary cap relief. Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has slightly a little more intrigue as a deep sleeper.

Colorado Rockies 1B Justin Morneau is not in the starting lineup Monday, Sept. 14. 1B Wilin Rosario is starting at first base and batting fifth against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Monday.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players should view any Colorado hitter as an extremely risky start against Kershaw ($9,900, 19.8% of cap) Monday. Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) checks out as nothing more than a desperation contrarian play in daily contests.

Colorado Rockies 1B Justin Morneau will bat sixth against Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton Sunday, Sept. 13. 1B Wilin Rosario, who played first base Saturday, Sept. 12, will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Morneau ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is 6-for-23 (.261) with two RBIs in seven games since returning from a concussion. He is faring well versus southpaws this year, hitting .348 with four doubles in 23 at-bats.

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (neck) remains out of the lineup Thursday, Sept. 10. 1B Wilin Rosario is behind the plate and is hitting fifth against San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) can save you valuable loot elsewhere on FantasyScore, and he does have a .272 average (52-for-191) in limited at-bats for Colorado this year. The ball has traveled more during day games at Petco Park this year.

Colorado Rockies 1B Justin Morneau is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner Sunday, Sept. 6. 1B Wilin Rosario will bat fifth and play first base.
