San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) still has a cast on his forearm but is hoping to return to action in a "couple" of weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Jay was one of the Padres' more consistent hitters before his injury, sporting a line of .296/.345/.407 with two homers, 23 RBI and two steals. He doesn't run much or hit for power, though, so that severely limits his fantasy appeal to NL-only leagues for depth. Alex Dickerson will likely move to the bench when Jay is ready to return.

San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) is expected to be out four to six weeks, and he could return in the first week of August if he doesn't have any setbacks.
Fantasy Tip: Jay was a fringe fantasy commodity in deep mixed leagues because of his lack of power (two home runs, 23 RBI), but he was one of San Diego's better hitters with a .296 average atop the order. You can likely part with him for now in deep mixed leagues. Alex Dickerson and Travis Jankowski are likely to split time in the outfield in the meantime, with Dickerson slightly more appealing to those in NL leagues because of his bat. Prospects Manuel Margot or Hunter Renfroe could become options further down the road if the Padres choose to go that route.

Updating a previous item, San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right forearm. OF Alex Dickerson will be recalled from Class AAA El Paso to replace Jay. There was no word on how much time Jay might miss.
Fantasy Tip: Needless to say, it's a huge blow for the Padres because Jay was likely a trade chip for another team. For now, stash Jay away in deeper NL and mixed formats. Travis Jankowski is 7-for-26 (.269) in the six games he has played since Jay was sidelined. He should play on a fairly regular basis and is worth picking up if you need the body.

San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) was diagnosed with a broken forearm after he underwent a CT scan Monday, June 27. OF Alex Dickerson has been recalled from the minors.
Fantasy Tip: Dickerson was putting up big numbers at Class AAA El Paso, but he had only two hits (one homer) in 10 at-bats with the Friars this year. Expect Dickerson and Travis Jankowski to split time in center field with Jay out. Jankowski has some speed but is hitting just .250 in 80 at-bats. Both should be in consideration for a pickup only in NL-only leagues if you need an outfield body.

San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) is not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Brandon Finnegan Saturday, June 25. OF Travis Jankowski will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Jankowski is hitting .263 with two RBI over the last seven days and should continue to start as long as Jay is sidelined. He could be a sleeper option in some daily fantasy leagues.

San Diego Padres OF Jon Jay (forearm) will be examined Monday, June 27, to see if a trip to the disabled list is necessary, manager Andy Green said Friday, June 24.
Fantasy Tip: Travis Jankowski should continue to start in place of Jay, and he makes a decent DFS flier as long as he occupies the leadoff spot.
