Mets | Travis d'Arnaud takes a seat

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 15:00:31 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 19. C Rene Rivera is doing the catching and batting eighth against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta.

Fantasy Tip: It looks to be a normal night off for d'Arnaud in a tough matchup. Rivera is batting under .200 with three homers and 13 RBI and is a desperation daily selection against Arrieta tonight.

Mets | Brandon Nimmo, Travis d'Arnaud out

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 09:38:12 -0700

New York Mets OF Brandon Nimmo and C Travis d'Arnaud are not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Zach Eflin Sunday, July 17. OF Yoenis Cespedes will start at left field, while OF Juan Lagares will start at center field and is batting seventh. C Rene Rivera will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares is hitting .200 with one home run and one RBI this month and is not a strong option in most fantasy leagues. Rivera has only two hits in his last 11 at-bats and should only be used in two-catcher leagues.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud sitting vs. Nats

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 12:20:00 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 8. C Rene Rivera is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Friday.

Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud is 14-for-44 with two home runs, eight RBI and a .788 OPS since returning from the disabled list. He should be owned in all seasonal leagues and started confidently. Rivera is a fantasy afterthought Friday in the daunting matchup against Strasburg.

Mets | Three Mets idle Wednesday

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 07:42:11 -0700

New York Mets OF Brandon Nimmo, 1B James Loney and C Travis d'Arnaud are out of the lineup Wednesday, July 6, with 2B Wilmer Flores hitting fifth, OF Juan Lagares hitting seventh and C Rene Rivera hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Flores has a .292-2-5 line the last week, and he's worth low-end consideration against lefty Justin Nicolino. Lagares is hitting .280, but he doesn't present enough upside for more than a basement play. Rivera isn't worth DFS consideration.

Mets | Two Mets starters sitting out

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 09:12:43 -0700

New York Mets SS Asdrubal Cabrera and C Travis d'Arnaud are not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester Sunday, July 3. SS Matthew Reynolds will start at shortstop and is batting seventh, while C Rene Rivera will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Reynolds has only two hits in his last 10 games but received only a few starts during that span. He probably can be avoided in all leagues. Rivera is hitting .182 this season and is not a great fantasy option.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud finding his stroke

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 19:41:12 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs Saturday, July 2, and he is 5-for-9 with a walk over his last three games.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries have limited d'Arnaud this year, but he is finally healthy and starting to hit. Check to see if he is available and scoop him up as a potential upgrade or trade chip.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud sitting vs. Nats

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:02:54 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 29. C Rene Rivera is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud is 5-for-22 with three RBI since returning from the disabled list. Remain patient with the impact backstop in all settings, as he has nice power potential from the position. Over the past two years, Rivera has a .180/.223/.279 slash line through 392 plate appearances, so against Scherzer, Rivera is an ill-advised fantasy option.

Mets | Several NYM regulars resting Sunday

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 08:43:10 -0700

New York Mets SS Asdrubal Cabrera, OF Curtis Granderson and C Travis d'Arnaud are not in the starting lineup against Atlanta Braves SP Bud Norris Sunday, June 26. INF/OF Kelly Johnson will bat leadoff and play left field, INF Matthew Reynolds will play shortstop and bat second, OF Brandon Nimmo will play right field and bat seventh and C Rene Rivera will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Reynolds is 7-for-20 with a home run and six RBI during the month of June and is worth considering as a value play for daily fantasy lineups. Nimmo will be making his MLB debut and possesses plenty of upside, so he could be worth taking a flier on in DFS as well. Johnson and Rivera are a combined 1-for-11 versus Norris and should be avoided Sunday.

Mets | Two Mets idle Wednesday

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 08:04:03 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Conforto and C Travis d'Arnaud are out of the lineup Wednesday, June 22. 3B Wilmer Flores moves up to hit fifth, OF Matthew Reynolds hits seventh and C Rene Rivera hits eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Flores hits lefties pretty well, and he faces lefty Danny Duffy today. He's worth the low-end consideration hitting fifth. Reynolds and Rivera aren't worth DFS consideration.
