Mets | Travis d'Arnaud injury update

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 14:08:22 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a hyperextended elbow.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) likely will miss several weeks because of the injury. Kevin Plawecki ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) and Johnny Monell should both receive starts while d'Arnaud is out, but neither player is a great option on FantasyScore.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud placed on DL

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 14:01:58 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of an elbow injury. The team also recalled C Johnny Monell from Class AAA Las Vegas.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known how long d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) will be out, so owners should look for an update on his timetable. Kevin Plawecki ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) could see most of the starts until d'Arnaud returns with Monell receiving a handful of starts. Neither catcher is a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud day-to-day

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 11:00:26 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) is officially listed as day-to-day after sustaining a hyperextended elbow Saturday, June 20. X-rays were negative.

Fantasy Tip: Kevin Plawecki ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is expected to see most of the action behind the plate while d'Arnaud is unavailable but he is not a great FantasyScore option.

Mets | Elbow injury for Travis d'Arnaud

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 19:02:01 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) suffered a left elbow injury against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, June 20, and has been taken to the hospital for X-rays.

Fantasy Tip: If d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) misses time, Kevin Plawecki ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) should see a bulk of the starts. However, Plawecki is hitting just .226 in 37 games and doesn't offer much value at FantasyScore.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud exits game

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 18:34:54 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (arm) exited against the Atlanta Braves with an apparent left arm injury after a collision at the plate with C A.J. Pierzynski Saturday, June 20.

Fantasy Tip: He just can't catch break. d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) had a homer and three RBI before suffering another injury. He has shown promise as a value play at FantasyScore in the games he has managed to play, but it remains to be seen how long this latest issue will sideline him.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud sitting vs. Braves

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:56:38 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 19. C Kevin Plawecki is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) from your fantasy lineups Friday. He has gone without a hit over his last two games, so a breather might kick-start his bat. Plawecki ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) offers little upside with a .212/.262/.310 slash line over 122 plate appearances this season. FantasyScore players should view him as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief.

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud went hitless in three at-bats Wednesday, June 17, against the Toronto Blue Jays, snapping his seven-game hitting streak.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the hitless game d'Arnaud ($3,100; or 6.2% of cap) remains a decent mid-level FantasyScore option with a little bit of pop.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud not starting Monday

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 14:02:26 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Monday, June 15. C Kevin Plawecki will be the starting catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is not ready to play every day, so he will still see some days off. Plawecki ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has picked up one hit in each of his last three hits but is hitting only .211 this season and may not be a great option on FantasyScore.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud solid since return

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 19:15:06 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in a 10-8 win over the Atlanta Braves Sunday, June 14, and he has four RBI and five runs scored in four games since being activated from the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: He has shown no signs of rust, and you should feel free to use d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) as you normally would at FantasyScore.

Mets | Kevin Plawecki will see playing time

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 11:12:41 -0700

New York Mets C Kevin Plawecki will continue to see playing time, because C Travis d'Arnaud (finger, wrist) will be eased back into an everyday role, according to manager Terry Collins. Collins said the team will reevaluate the situation once d'Arnaud is more comfortable in his return.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) probably will see a few starts a week but will not see regular playing time. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Plawecki against certain matchups moving forward.
