Eagles | Arrelious Benn tears ACL

Tue, 06 Aug 2013 16:17:27 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Arrelious Benn (knee) suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in practice Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Fantasy Tip: With Benn more than likely done for the season, and Jeremy Maclin (knee) also down for the year, DeSean Jackson, Riley Cooper and Damaris Johnson (hamstring) are the top three receivers for the team. For fantasy purposes, Jackson is the only WR owners should seriously consider starting in Week 1.

Eagles | Confirm Jeremy Maclin injury

Sat, 27 Jul 2013 14:32:09 -0700

The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed reports that WR Jeremy Maclin (knee) tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Fantasy Tip: This will effectively end Maclin's season. Riley Cooper reportedly stepped into his place during practice but probably isn't a better fantasy option than Arrelious Benn (knee) and Jason Avant if all three are healthy. The tight ends could see more targets, but the mix remains complicated with Brent Celek, Zach Ertz and Clay Harbor, and it could be a fantasy mess. This also removes a weapon from either Nick Foles or Michael Vick.

Eagles | WR spots up for grabs

Tue, 09 Jul 2013 16:06:00 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WRs DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant and Damaris Johnson are considered locks to make the team. One or two more spots will be filled by Riley Cooper, Arrelious Benn, Ifeanyi Momah, B.J. Cunningham and Russell Shepard.

Fantasy Tip: Benn could be a better keep than Cooper because he can play the slot and outside along with his return experience. Either way, the wide receivers in Chip Kelly's system take a hit from past years in Andy Reid's. Jackson and Maclin are merely WR3s, and these depth players aren't as attractive as fantasy flyers anymore.
