The Denver Broncos have suspended director of player personnel Matt Russell indefinitely without pay and director of pro personnel Tom Heckert one month without pay for their arrests for driving under the influence earlier this offseason. The team will offer both treatment if it is needed.

Both are expected to receive lengthy suspensions and hefty fines.

The New York Jets will begin the process of looking for their next general manager this weekend. The known candidates for the position include former Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert, San Francisco 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble and Green Bay Packers director of football operations John Dorsey. Word on the street is that the Jets are telling GM candidates that they must be willing to keep head coach Rex Ryan for another year. Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell, New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross and Jets assistant GM Scott Cohen are other candidates.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli is unlikely to stay with the team if they hire former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid. Reid said it's not necessary that he bring in former Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert, though. Reid is also interested in working with Green Bay Packers director of operations John Dorsey in the GM role.
