Phillies | Freddy Galvis back at shortstop

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 12:50:06 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis returns to the lineup Saturday, June 13, versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will be hitting seventh against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has struggled in recent weeks, totaling just two hits and striking out 10 times in his last 11 games. Going up against Gerrit Cole isn't exactly what you want if you're trying to get out of a slump. Keep him out of your FantasyScore lineups until he can get back on track.

Phillies | No Freddy Galvis Friday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 13:34:15 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 12. 2B Cesar Hernandez is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke.

Fantasy Tip: With Galvis in a bad slump, Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could see some more playing time. However, he's not really worth your time on FantasyScore, and he's hitting only .221 (21-for-95) with a home run and nine RBI.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis out of lineup

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 09:12:37 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 10. 2B Cesar Hernandez is starting at the 6 and hitting seventh against Cincinnati Reds SP Jon Moscot.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) isn't worth your time on FantasyScore, even when facing a pitcher making just his second major league start today.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis' slump continues

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 19:03:44 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis went 0-for-3 in a 7-5 loss to the San Francisco Giants Saturday, June 6, and he is now hitless in his last 29 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: His average his dipped from .311 to .265 during the drought, and Galvis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) needs to be avoided at FantasyScore until he figures things out at the plate.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis is not in the lineup

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 12:02:39 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup against the San Francisco Giants Friday, June 5. 2B Cesar Hernandez is batting seventh and playing shortstop Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) had been handling the stick well and carried a .336 batting average up to May 19, however, since, he is hitting just .096 (5-for-52). His value is plummeting, and until he returns to form, he can be replaced in all but cavernous mixed and NL-only formats. FantasyScore players should view Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief Friday, especially against the reformed Tim Lincecum.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis dropped in order

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 11:46:41 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is hitting seventh in the batting order against Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake Wednesday, June 3.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitless in his last 16 at-bats. Although he has a potentially great matchup against the struggling Leake, it's probably wise to steer clear of the shortstop until he gets back in the hit column.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis sitting out

Sun, 31 May 2015 09:15:04 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 31. INF Cesar Hernandez will be the starting shortstop for the Phillies.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) probably is receiving a day off and should play in the next game or two. Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has only three hits in his last 10 games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Phillies | Cesar Hernandez playing Saturday

Sat, 23 May 2015 12:05:03 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies INF Cesar Hernandez will bat second and play shortstop against the Washington Nationals Saturday, May 23. SS Freddy Galvis is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has struggled at the plate recently, going 4-for-29 in his last seven games with no RBIs. Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) provides salary cap relief in FantasyScore but not much else.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis out of lineup Sunday

Sun, 17 May 2015 08:29:11 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is out of the starting lineup Sunday, May 17, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. 2B Cesar Hernandez will start at short and bat sixth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) made three straight starts before serving as a pinch hitter in the last two games. Hernandez is just 3-for-his-last-13, and FantasyScore owners need to look elsewhere.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis hitting second

Tue, 05 May 2015 14:21:57 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is hitting second in the batting order against Atlanta Braves SP Shelby Miller Tuesday, May 5. OF Odubel Herrera was dropped to sixth in the lineup as a result, with OF Ben Revere leading off.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been one of Philly's more consistent hitters this year (.349-1-8), and a move to the top of the order makes him more attractive to FantasyScore users. However, he remains a sleeper play and doesn't have much power to speak of.
