Phillies | Freddy Galvis dropped in the order

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 12:00:51 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting eighth against New York Mets SP Jon Niese Thursday, Aug. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been batting second in the order the past three games, but Andres Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) shifts back to the two-hole Thursday. It doesn't have a huge impact on Blanco who is a low-end flier at FantasyScore Thursday, but Galvis takes a huge value hit batting in front of the pitcher. You can avoid Galvis in daily contests Thursday.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis enjoys facing the Mets

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:07:15 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting .375 with five RBI over his past six games, and he is hitting .357 against the New York Mets this season. Mets SP Bartolo Colon is starting against Philadelphia Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has settled into the two-hole of the order, and he is 3-for-6 against Colon ($5,500, 11.5% of cap) this season. The shortstop has a few things going for him Tuesday, but he shouldn't be confused as a lineup building block at FantasyScore.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis jumps up lineup vs. Mets

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 13:01:57 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting second against New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom Monday, Aug. 24. SS Andres Blanco is starting at third base and batting fifth Monday.

Fantasy Tip: It isn't a significant value shift for Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) who has been batting second of late, as he'll just trade fewer opportunities to score runs for more chances to drive them in. Glavis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) grabs a nice value boost, though, as he was frequenting the bottom third of the order of late. Still, with deGrom ($9,700, 18.4% of cap) taking the hill for New York, both Phillies are risky FantasyScore players Monday.

Phillies | Chase Utley out of lineup Sunday

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 12:40:38 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 2B Chase Utley is not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Sunday, Aug. 9. INF Cesar Hernandez will start at second base, with SS Freddy Galvis playing shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Utley's ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) absence from the lineup is not surprising, since manager Pete Mackanin mentioned recently that he would not play every day. Galvis ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is only batting .211 this month and is hitless in seven career at-bats against Cashner, while Hernandez ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is hitting .357 during August.

Phillies | Chase Utley to be limited

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 16:31:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 2B Chase Utley (ankle) will be limited upon his return to the lineup Friday, Aug. 7. Interim manager Pete Mackanin said Thursday, Aug. 6, "I'm going to do as much as I can to try to get [Utley] in there four days a week." 2B Cesar Hernandez will likely shift to shortstop or third base, and SS Freddy Galvis could see starts in the outfield.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is the most fantasy-relevant player of the three, with a .323 batting average, nine doubles, two triples and 15 RBI in 40 games since June 17. Hernandez is a strong FantasyScore option against left-handed pitching.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis not in the lineup

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:03:38 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Felix Doubront Tuesday, July 28. SS Andres Blanco will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return in the near future. Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is hitting .343 against left-handed pitchers this season, but owners should still be able to find a better option on FantasyScore.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis moves up in lineup

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 13:43:11 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting second in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Nathan Karns Tuesday, July 21.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitting .322 with two home runs and nine RBI this month with six multi-hit games over that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Galvis as a cheaper option to use in their lineup.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis hits double digits

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 22:49:28 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis has a pair of hits in four at-bats Wednesday, July 8, against the Los Angeles Dodgers to push his hitting streak to 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800; or 7.6% of cap) has posted 17 hits in 39 at-bats (.436) with a homer and seven RBIs during his impressive 10-game run. He remains a tremendous FantasyScore play while hitting at this clip.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis back at shortstop

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 12:50:06 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis returns to the lineup Saturday, June 13, versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will be hitting seventh against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has struggled in recent weeks, totaling just two hits and striking out 10 times in his last 11 games. Going up against Gerrit Cole isn't exactly what you want if you're trying to get out of a slump. Keep him out of your FantasyScore lineups until he can get back on track.

Phillies | No Freddy Galvis Friday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 13:34:15 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 12. 2B Cesar Hernandez is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke.

Fantasy Tip: With Galvis in a bad slump, Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could see some more playing time. However, he's not really worth your time on FantasyScore, and he's hitting only .221 (21-for-95) with a home run and nine RBI.
