Broncos | Demaryius Thomas changed his diet

Thu, 09 Aug 2018 06:40:45 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) changed his diet in the offseason after reading about the relationship between inflammation and diet. He found out what his body was sensitive to, what inflamed his body and his hip and what supplements that were lacking or needed. He dropped from 228 pounds to 212 pounds and put the weight back on with a new workout program.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas' numbers have dropped for three consecutive years, but his hip issue could be a big factor. He turns 31 in December and probably won't reclaim WR1 status. He should serve as a solid WR2 in PPR formats.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas moving around

Sun, 29 Jul 2018 12:18:49 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is "working everywhere, including as the Z receiver for the first time," according to Lindsay H. Jones of USA TODAY Sports.

Fantasy Tip: Typically the "X" (split end), Thomas lined up inside only 17.9 percent of the time in 2017. While Emmanuel Sanders figures to see the most time in the slot and at the Z (flanker) of the two starters, getting Thomas more work in the slot can only help him as he gets older. The Broncos seem pretty confident in Case Keenum, so if their optimism is justified, Thomas could be poised for a bounce-back season. He should be considered a high-end WR2 for fantasy purposes.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas still confident

Fri, 06 Jul 2018 21:03:54 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he needs to clean up some drops but still views himself as a No. 1 receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been the victim of inconsistent quarterback play the last couple of seasons, but he still managed 83 catches for 949 yards in 2017. The Broncos added Case Keenum to stabilize the quarterback situation, and Thomas should be able to flirt with WR2 status, especially in PPR formats.

Wed, 13 Jun 2018 12:13:49 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (toe) has not been allowed to participate in minicamp because of a sore toe. He wanted to practice Wednesday, June 13, but head coach Vance Joseph did not permit him to do so. Thomas will not practice Thursday, June 14, either.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has minor foot issue

Tue, 12 Jun 2018 12:10:15 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (foot) tweaked his foot at minicamp Tuesday, June 12.

Fantasy Tip: There's nothing major here. The main worry with Thomas is his hip injury history and the cast around him. Keep tabs on Thomas' status in the coming days and weeks, but he shouldn't miss much practice time.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders absent

Mon, 04 Jun 2018 11:03:55 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders were not present for organized team activities Monday, June 4.

Fantasy Tip: Both Thomas and Sanders should be on the field for the mandatory minicamp and will be the team's starting receivers. They saw a dip in their production but should be candidates for bounce back seasons with Case Keenum as the quarterback. Thomas can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver, while Sanders can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver.

Broncos | Denver counting on Carlos Henderson

Thu, 29 Mar 2018 20:20:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson has to win his one-on-one matchups to help out WR Demaryius Thomas and WR Emmanuel Sanders, according to head coach Vance Joseph. "We're counting on that kid to come in and play for us, especially in the slot," Joseph said.

Fantasy Tip: Henderson won't have much value in redraft leagues as Denver's third receiver, but he is worth owning in dynasty formats.

Broncos | Denver exercises Demaryius Thomas' option

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 10:40:56 -0700

The Denver Broncos officially exercised the $4 million option bonus in WR Demaryius Thomas' contract Tuesday, March 13, locking him $12.5 million between salary and bonuses in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is coming off a pair of disappointing seasons - for him anyway - but the Broncos appear confident the 30-year-old's production is more of a result of a bad quarterback play than a decline of skill. It's a reasonable assumption. While the expected addition of Case Keenum probably won't resuscitate Thomas' value to where it was when Peyton Manning was around, he should be able to enjoy another 90-catch, 1,000-yard season in 2018.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to stick around

Sun, 11 Mar 2018 20:17:49 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is expected to have his $4 million option for 2018 officially picked up in the next day or two, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Fantasy Tip: This was the plan all along for Thomas, and even if the quarterback situation in Denver remains messy, he should at least be a WR3. If the Broncos land a reliable starter, he could easily return to WR2 status.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will stay

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 13:03:10 -0800

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are expected to remain in Denver, according to general manager John Elway. Thomas' $4 million option will be picked up.

Fantasy Tip: It makes sense that the Broncos would keep arguably their two best offensive players if they want to entice a better quarterback to town. Thomas can be drafted as a WR2 no matter who the quarterback is with Sanders capable of low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 numbers.
