Broncos | Demaryius Thomas limited

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 14:03:16 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has practiced and played with more than his fair share of injuries throughout his career. This shouldn't keep him from taking the field this weekend unless is worsens over the next few days. View Thomas as a low-end WR1 in a solid matchup versus the Buffalo Bills.

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:43:38 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas racked up six receptions for 71 yards on eight targets in Week 1 against the Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was working against an injury-plagued secondary and he was busy, but unfortunately it was Emmanuel Sanders with two touchdowns to none for Thomas. He'll look to re-discover the end zone in Week 3 in Buffalo.

Broncos | Denver WRs facing banged up secondary

Fri, 15 Sep 2017 16:00:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will be facing a banged up Dallas Cowboys secondary in Week 2 since CB Orlando Scandrick (hand) and CB Chido Awuzie (hamstring) are dealing with injuries. CB Anthony Brown replaced Scandrick as the nickel back in Week 1 and Awuzie was starting opposite CB Nolan Carroll. FS Byron Jones (groin) is also listed as questionable for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas and Sanders likely receive more targets in Week 2 because of the injuries to Dallas' secondary and will look to post better numbers than they did in Week 1. Thomas should be considered at least a No. 2 receiver in most leagues, while Sanders can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas back at practice

Wed, 06 Sep 2017 11:51:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) returned to practice for the first time in nearly two weeks. Thomas was injured during the team's third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas hasn't missed a game in five seasons, but the injuries are starting to pile up and he will turn 30 on Christmas, so there is some potential for a disappointing season. Then again, he's managed to rack up five straight seasons of at least 90 catches, so disappointing may be a relative term. He should be considered a strong WR2 as long as he remains healthy this season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas out of practice

Mon, 04 Sep 2017 10:31:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) is out of practice Monday, Sept. 4.

Fantasy Tip: His Week 1 status isn't supposed to be in question, but his absence today may start to tickle the alarm handle. He's a high-end WR2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas absent Monday

Mon, 28 Aug 2017 11:42:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) missed practice Monday, Aug. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas's groin injury is not considered serious, so don't be alarmed by him not being at practice. He should be ready for Week 1 and remains a high-end WR2 option.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' injury not serious

Sun, 27 Aug 2017 06:59:46 -0700

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) will not miss the start of the regular season due to the groin injury he suffered in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Saturday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was removed as a precautionary measure, so fantasy owners do not need to be alarmed. He should be viewed as a high-end WR2 in all formats, even though Denver's quarterback situation is less than ideal.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas injures groin

Sat, 26 Aug 2017 19:01:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (groin) exited the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers with a groin injury Saturday, Aug. 26, and will not return.

Fantasy Tip: Hopefully Thomas is just being held out as a precaution, but if the injury turns out to be serious, Emmanuel Sanders would be in line for a ton of targets and have a shot at WR2 production.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas likes the offense

Thu, 10 Aug 2017 18:16:29 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he is excited about the system of offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

Fantasy Tip: Despite playing with multiple quarterbacks the last couple of years, Thomas has remained one of the most dependable receivers in the game. He is a high-floor WR2.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' hip pain is gone

Mon, 10 Jul 2017 07:52:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) said the pain in his hip that bothered him last season is gone.

Fantasy Tip: DT has been declining each of the last three years, and he turns 30 late in the season. There's no reason to believe he'll return to the WR1 area after combining for 11 touchdowns the last two years, but he's a solid WR2 in fantasy.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas still going strong

Sun, 09 Jul 2017 18:30:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is one of three players in NFL history with five or more consecutive seasons with at least 90 receptions and at least 1,000 yards, and he said he thinks he still has a couple of good years left.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was able to put up solid numbers again last year despite a less-than-ideal quarterback situation, and he is a borderline WR1 with a high floor.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas hopes for quick QB decision

Fri, 07 Jul 2017 17:56:50 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he hopes the Broncos decide on a starting quarterback before their second preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. QB Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will be competing for the job when training camp begins.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas probably wants an early decision so he can build chemistry with the starting quarterback but may have to wait until after the third preseason game. Thomas will be the No. 1 receiver for the Broncos no matter the quarterback and should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 fantasy receiver. Owners should consider the winner of the quarterback competition as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Broncos | Cody Latimer needs to earn spot

Thu, 06 Jul 2017 10:27:24 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer might have one of the hottest seats among Broncos' wide receivers this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold. WRs Carlos Henderson, Isaiah McKenzie, Bennie Fowler, Jordan Taylor and Kalif Raymond will be Latimer's main competitors for spots on the final roster behind WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas misses OTAs

Tue, 30 May 2017 16:23:26 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (personal) missed organized team activities Tuesday, May 30, due to a personal issue, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Joseph expects Thomas to return to practice this week. WR Cody Latimer practiced with the first-team in Thomas's place.

Fantasy Tip: The extent of the personal issue is unknown, but Thomas is healthy and is ready to lead the Broncos in receiving again this year. He's comfortably sitting in WR2 territory despite subpar quarterback play.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas feels better than ever

Thu, 25 May 2017 14:29:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he's feeling the best he's felt in his entire career.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas hasn't missed a game in five straight seasons despite dealing with a fair share of bumps and bruises. Thomas's numbers were gaudy with Peyton Manning, but he still managed to record a season of 90 catches, 1000-plus yards and five touchdowns last year without Manning. As such, he sits comfortably in high-end WR2 territory.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas seeking more YAC

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 20:35:48 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said one reason he is looking forward to playing under offensive coordinator Mike McCoy again is because of his more frequent use of wide receiver screen passes, which will increase his yards after the catch totals. Thomas previously ranked in the top-two among receivers in yards after the catch in 2012 and 2013, but without McCoy, those numbers dropped significantly. This past season, Thomas had 336 yards after the catch, ranking him 25th among receivers.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been one of the steadiest receivers around, hauling in at least 90 receptions and registering more than 1,000 yards in each of the last five seasons. That's basically as consistent as it gets, but the fact remains that the seven-year veteran is coming off a campaign that saw him put up his fewest catches (90) and yards (1,083) since that streak first began. The return of McCoy figures to provide Thomas with a boost, so his stat line from a year ago could be viewed as his floor for the 2017 season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas working on hips

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 12:16:00 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hips) said he has spent the early part of the offseason making his hips healthy. He does not need surgery, but he was not at 100 percent either. Thomas added that his hips bothered him for much of 2016 but doesn't believe they'll be an issue this year.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL over the last five years. A big factor in that consistency is that he has not missed a single game in those five years. In that span, he has averaged 98.4 catches, 1,374.0 yards and 9.2 touchdowns per season. Those numbers are obviously inflated somewhat because of Peyton Manning, but even last year he managed 90 catches for 1,083 yards and five scores. He's solidly in WR2 territory heading into 2017.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas remains consistent

Sat, 25 Feb 2017 21:04:26 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas ranked in the top 15 in the NFL in both receptions and receiving yards in 2016, and he has caught at least 90 passes and topped 1,000 yards in each of the last five years.

Fantasy Tip: Despite a lackluster quarterback situation, Thomas still managed to put together a solid campaign. Even if Denver's quarterback play remains shaky, you can at least count on Thomas sneaking into WR2 territory.

Sun, 25 Dec 2016 21:09:18 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas caught three of his eight targets for 20 yards in a 33-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Trevor Siemian had a bad night, and the Denver offense just couldn't move the ball. Better days should be ahead for Thomas, and he can be a WR2 against Oakland in Week 17.

Wed, 21 Dec 2016 15:33:23 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas racks up 10 catches

Sun, 11 Dec 2016 19:02:13 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas posted 10 receptions for a season-high 126 yards in the Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans. He was targeted 16 times.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was busy in the low-scoring loss, posting his first 100-yard game since Week 3. He has been held out of the end zone in five of his past six games, however, and should be treated more as a WR2 in all fantasy formats.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas targeted 10 times

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 14:05:30 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas was targeted 10 times and finished with six catches and 61 yards Sunday, Dec. 4, in a 20-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Combined with Emmanuel Sanders catching three of his nine targeted passes, it was not a good day for the Bronco receivers. Still, this game is largely a throwaway for the Broncos, who hope QB Trevor Siemian is back for Week 14.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has one big play

Sun, 30 Oct 2016 20:35:16 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas posted five receptions for 79 yards on 10 targets in the Week 8 game against the San Diego Chargers. His stat line was helped out by a 40-yard catch.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has suffered a bit with some erratic quarterback play in Denver, a departure from when Peyton Manning was under center and Thomas was a top-flight fantasy option. This season Thomas is more of a WR2 in most fantasy formats. He faces a favorable matchup in Week 9 against the defensively challenged Raiders.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas should play in Week 8

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 13:22:25 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been held to under 50 yards in each of the last three games but has recorded a touchdown in four of the last five games. He should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in all leagues despite his recent numbers.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas limited again

Thu, 27 Oct 2016 16:03:28 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) was a limited participant at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas should be good to go for Week 8 opposite the Chargers. While he was not successful the first time around versus San Diego, recording a season-low 35 receiving yards on five catches, that came with rookie Paxton Lynch under center. Trevor Siemian is back at quarterback, and Thomas will be looking to find the end zone for the second straight week.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas limited

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 15:09:48 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Track his status over the next couple days, but Thomas has scored four times in the last five games. He has been targeted 20 times over the last two games. And while his yardage hasn't been as high as desired of late, Thomas is a low-end WR1 consideration in a favorable matchup with the San Diego Chargers.

Broncos | Mediocre line for Demaryius Thomas

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 21:33:33 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas posted six grabs for 40 yards with a touchdown in the Week 7 game against the Houston Texans Monday, Oct. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has three straight mediocre yardage totals. While he has visited the end zone in four of his past five games, he hasn't looked anything close to a WR1 in fantasy leagues since Week 4. Lately Thomas resembles more of a low-end WR2, and that has a ton to do with a young quarterback learning on the job in Denver.

Broncos | Quiet night for Demaryius Thomas

Thu, 13 Oct 2016 21:16:20 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas had five catches for 35 yards and lost a fumble in a 21-13 loss to the San Diego Chargers in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Denver's entire offense seemed out of sync against San Diego, but Thomas has enjoyed a strong year overall. Consider him a WR2 going forward.

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 21:59:08 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas hauled in five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas fared pretty well despite the fact he had a rookie making his first NFL start while facing a tough defense. Thomas and the Broncos return on a short week at San Diego in Week 6 on Thursday night.

Fri, 07 Oct 2016 15:40:06 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Demaryius Thomas (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas will continue be one of the top options in the passing game no matter if Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch starts the game. Thomas should be a solid No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas limited

Wed, 05 Oct 2016 15:41:18 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas should be fine for the game this week and will receive plenty of targets no matter the quarterback. He has recorded at least 90 yards in each of his last three games and should be a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver for most owners.

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 22:36:35 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas posted six receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on seven targets.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas jelled nicely with Paxton Lynch once Trevor Siemian left the game. Thomas remains a WR1 in most fantasy leagues, posting 90 or more yards in each of the past three outings.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas caught six passes for 100 yards and scored a touchdown in a 29-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Combined with Emmanuel Sanders, the Broncos receiving corps had a spectacular day. Thomas should be kept active in most fantasy lineups, as he and Sanders appear to have a rapport with QB Trevor Siemian.

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 16:44:20 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 23, and is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 18:23:30 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas remains a big part of Denver's passing attack, but the emphasis on the run game this year and a tough matchup against Cincinnati makes him more of a WR3 in Week 3.

Broncos | Denver receivers face tough test

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 13:07:33 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders face a stingy Cincinnati Bengals pass defense in Week 3. The Bengals have allowed a combined nine catches for 108 yards to New York Jets WRs Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker and Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown through the first two weeks of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Trevor Siemian has been somewhat mistake prone so far in this young season, too, which doesn't help the causes of Thomas or Sanders either. It's hard to bench either Thomas or Sanders in any given week, but lower the expectations for the standout Broncos receivers this week.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas will play

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 12:35:03 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) is officially active for the team's Week 2 game.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been limited by a hip injury this week but will be able to play. He will be a risky option for owners because of the injury but could still be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in leagues.

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 07:39:13 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) is expected to play in Week 2's game against the Indianapolis Colts. However, the club wants him to participate in pregame warmups before a final decision is made.

Fantasy Tip: If he is active for the game, Thomas has a very favorable matchup versus the Colts and should be viewed as a solid WR2 or WR3 in the majority of fantasy formats.

Sat, 17 Sep 2016 13:37:10 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) may be a game-time decision for the team's Week 2 game, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Thomas will be able to play in Week 2. He will be a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver if he is active, but owners should have other options ready in case he is ruled out.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas 'on track' for Week 2

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 10:47:57 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) appeared to look much better running routes Friday, Sept. 16, than he has at any point earlier in the week, according to Denver7 Sports' Troy Renck.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has been very limited in practice recently and expressed doubt regarding his confidence in his hip Thursday, so this is a positive development. Still, this is a tricky situation for owners, who must weigh starting him in perhaps his best matchup of the year - the Indianapolis Colts - against the possibility he could be very limited or serve as a decoy. Owners who are deep at receiver should probably consider benching him, while all others should be thrilled if they receiver something more than WR3 production.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas expects to play in pain

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 07:00:16 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) expects to play in pain in Week 2 with a hip injury that he said he has dealt with for a while.

Fantasy Tip: This may be an issue for a while, and the team doesn't have its bye week until Week 11. The matchup against the Indianapolis Colts isn't a decent one, but if you're playing DFS, it might be too much of a risk. Thomas remains a WR2 in traditional leagues.
