Broncos | Several Broncos sitting Thursday

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 16:54:05 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning, RB C.J. Anderson, WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders and other key players will not play against the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: This is nothing out of the ordinary. Sanders, especially, might need the extra rest as he has been nursing a hamstring injury. Manning, Anderson and Thomas should be drafted as a QB1, RB1 and WR1, respectively. Sanders is more of a WR2 this year.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has solid week

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 11:02:19 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas had a very productive week of practice and appears to be in football shape, according to QB Peyton Manning.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas should be the top target in the passing game this season and could see more opportunities with Julius Thomas no longer on the team. Thomas should be one of the first receivers selected in drafts.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas and others will sit

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 14:05:18 -0700

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas (rest) and Emmanuel Sanders (hamstring) and TE Owen Daniels (rest) will not play in the first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: This isn't out of the ordinary for starters not to play the first preseason game, especially if they're nursing an injury, like Sanders. Don't read anything into these moves from a fantasy perspective.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas runs routes

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 09:23:32 -0700

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas ran routes with teammate WR Emmanuel Sanders Friday, July 31, in practice. Thomas has been eased back into the mix after a contract dispute.

Fantasy Tip: DT is going to be fine and remains in contention for the No. 1 wideout drafted in fantasy football. He's no worse than a top-five pick at the position in the middle of Round 2.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to come back slowly

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:48:18 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas will be eased back into the offense this offseason because of his late return to the team. The Broncos want to gauge where Thomas is physically before he's cleared for full contact practices.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't be a big shock. Thomas wasn't with the Broncos for the whole offseason as his contract extension was being determined and negotiated. Despite being brought along more slowly, Thomas should still pick up everything he needs to by the time the regular season rolls around. He should be one of the top wide receivers off draft boards.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas catching up

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 19:21:20 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is signed to his five-year deal, but he missed all of the offseason workouts and organized team activities (OTAs), so it will take a bit of time before he is up to speed.

Fantasy Tip: Remember, Thomas is learning new head coach Gary Kubiak's offense, so he will be playing catch-up during training camp and the preseason. Still, he can be expected to be a top fantasy target at his position, if not the top receiver in all formats.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas sets lofty goals

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 11:58:27 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he wants to set the single-season record for receiving yards this year. Thomas also said he'd like to lead the league in touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Those aren't necessarily unattainable goals for one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Thomas would need to beat Calvin Johnson's record of 1,964 yards set in 2012. The Broncos aren't expected to pass as much as they have in previous seasons under new head coach Gary Kubiak. Thomas should still be in the top-five fantasy wide receiver conversation.

Bengals | A.J. Green thanks Demaryius Thomas

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 18:36:06 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said during a press conference Friday, July 17, that Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green contacted him shortly after Thomas signed his new deal to thank him.

Fantasy Tip: Green has already said he plans to play out the final year of his deal without worrying about an extension, but Green clearly knows that Thomas' new deal has set a starting point for his next contract. Expect Green to be a top five receiver this year as he tries to drive up his value as much as possible before heading to the negotiation table.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has lofty goal

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 16:31:49 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he wants to break the single-season receiving record this season. Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson set the record in 2012 with 1,964 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas should continue to be one of the main targets in the team's passing game this season after he received a new contract. Thomas should be one of the first receivers selected in drafts this season and will be a weekly starting option for owners.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to play lighter

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 10:19:55 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he plans to play lighter this season, and he's feeling faster than in the past. He also said that his ankle is fully healed after it bothered him the last few games of last season.

Fantasy Tip: Playing lighter and faster should be a good thing for Thomas and his fantasy value in 2015, although it may make him a bit less durable. As long as Peyton Manning remains in Denver, Thomas should be an elite wide receiver and worthy of a late-round pick in the first round of fantasy drafts.

Broncos | More on Demaryius Thomas' deal

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 08:12:23 -0700

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas will receive $22 million in 2015. He will receive an $11 million signing bonus, $6.5 million in roster bonus and a $4.5 million salary, which are all guaranteed. He has a fully guaranteed $13 million salary in 2016. His $8.5 million salary in 2017 is guaranteed against injury, and the full salary becomes guaranteed in the league year. In 2018, he has a a $4 million option, plus an $8.5 million salary. None of this money is guaranteed. He has a $14 million salary in 2019, which isn't guaranteed. There are no incentives or escalators in the contract.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is among the top five receivers in fantasy and is worth consideration at the snake area in the first and second rounds.

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 18:03:14 -0700

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas in elite company

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 17:21:39 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is 1-of-3 wide receivers in NFL history with 1,400 yards and 10-plus touchdowns in three consecutive seasons. Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice are the only other two players to have accomplished the feat.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas totaled 35 touchdowns from 2012-14. Eager to live up to his brand new contract in what could be Peyton Manning's final season, Thomas is a sure-fire top-five receiver barring injury.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has been working

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:10:05 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas had already been sent the offensive playbook and practice video from organized team activities and minicamp this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas may not be as far behind as we thought. It'll be nice when he can practice with the team and further learn the new offense in person, but at least he has already been exposed to it. Thomas should one of the first wide receivers taken in fantasy drafts this year.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas agrees to deal

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 12:40:57 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has agreed to a five-year, $70 million deal that includes $43.5 million guaranteed, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: So much for the possible hold out. The Broncos secure their best receiver and fantasy owners can now safely draft Thomas in the late-first or early-second round of their fantasy drafts.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas, Broncos talking

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 12:30:14 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos are talking over a long-term deal now that Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has been signed to a long-term contract. Thomas and Denver had purportedly not talked for over a month.

Fantasy Tip: The two parties were supposedly still far apart on a potential long-term deal. If a deal does not get done by today, Thomas could very well hold out and possibly miss some games, so stay tuned.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas still not close to deal

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 10:16:20 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has not made progress in his contract talks with the Broncos. The Broncos have made four contract offers to Thomas this offseason with the last offer being made over a month ago. The last offer was strong in terms of guaranteed money but did not have the average salary per season Thomas is looking for. That offer to Thomas remains on the table.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Thomas will be entering this season without a long-term deal. There is a good chance that Thomas could sit out training camp and the preseason because of his contract situation. Owners will need to see if Thomas is willing to sit out regular season games since that would affect his fantasy value. Owners should still consider Thomas a top option at receiver until more is known about his situation.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas an elite receiver

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 16:45:44 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is second in the NFL with 28 100-yard receiving games in the regular season and postseason combined since 2011. He had 10 100-yard games in 2014, with seven coming in consecutive weeks. Thomas' 226 yards in a win over the Arizona Cardinals last year set the single-game franchise record, and his 1,619 receiving yards set a single-season franchise mark. The last three years with QB Peyton Manning at quarterback for Denver, Thomas has had three straight years with at least 92 catches, 1,430 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He's the third player in league history with three straight seasons of at least 1,400 yards and at least 10 scores, joining Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is without question one of the best receivers in the game, and he deserves consideration at the back end of Round 1 in fantasy football drafts. There are questions surrounding his contract and participation in the team's training camp, especially since Denver is dealing with a new offensive game plan and head coach. However, those concerns shouldn't affect Thomas' value as a surefire WR1.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas might miss games

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 16:22:15 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas can't be ruled out from missing games while awaiting a new contract. Thomas will not be at training camp on time if no deal has been reached.

Fantasy Tip: The Broncos have made a significant and competitive offer to Thomas but it is not the Calvin Johnson figure Thomas has been seeking.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas contract update

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 15:11:27 -0700

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos still have a big gap to astringe before the deadline Wednesday, July 15. Thomas supposedly wants to be the top-paid wide receiver in the league. If a deal is not reached before the deadline, Thomas and Denver will have to cease long-term deal talks for the season.

Fantasy Tip: Again, Thomas should still play even if it's with his one-year franchise tender. Draft him as a top-tier fantasy wide receiver as you normally would.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas, Denver haven't talked

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 14:48:04 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos have not had any dialogue or exchanged any proposals in over a month, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas and Denver are still far apart on a long-term deal. The deadline to complete such a deal is tomorrow, July 15. It seems more and more likely that Thomas will be playing under the one-year franchise tender he was offered earlier this offseason. Assuming he does not hold out, Thomas should still remain a top-tier fantasy wide receiver.

Broncos | Von Miller affecting Demaryius Thomas?

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 14:18:46 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos have not agreed on a long-term deal despite the deadline for doing so being Wednesday, July 15. The Broncos have already exchanged proposals with Thomas and his agent, but Thomas wants more money. One reason Denver may be hesitant to pay Thomas more is because LB Von Miller will become a free agent after this season. Miller is expected to cost at least $14 million per year, according to Mike Klis of 9news.com.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas will still play this season on his one-year franchise tender even if he and the Broncos do not agree on a multi-year deal. Thomas is an elite wide receiver both in terms of real football and fantasy football. Deal or no deal, he should be taken in the late-first or early-second round of drafts.

NFL | Collusion coming for Broncos, Cowboys?

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 10:41:43 -0700

If Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant and Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas don't sign long-term deals with their teams by the deadline for franchise players to do so Wednesday, July 15, the NFL players' union plans to issue collusion charges against the Cowboys and Broncos, according to a source close to the situation. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told Bryant in a recent conversation that he'd talked with Broncos general manager John Elway about the negotiations, which the union thinks would constitute a violation of the collective bargaining agreement's anti-collusion rules. A success of a collusion claim could entitle the players in question to triple the value of the highest current wide receiver on the market. Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson is currently the highest-paid receiver at roughly $16.2 million per year.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant and Thomas are two of the most talented receivers in the game today, and their fantasy value is likely to remain unchanged heading into the upcoming season. Both wideouts carry WR1 value and are worth considering late in Round 1 or early in Round 2.

Broncos | DT wants more than Megatron

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 18:39:12 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas' agent Todd France recently exchanged contract proposals with the team, according to multiple NFL sources Monday, July 13. Contrary to previous reports, Thomas is seeking a deal that pays more than the $16.2 million Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson makes, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas could sit out the early portion of training camp as protest over not having a multi-year deal, but the Broncos aren't likely to let that happen. The two sides are expected to come to an agreement before the deadline.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas not close to deal

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 10:35:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas appears unlikely at this point to receive a long-term contract before the July 15 deadline, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas could consider holding out during training camp if he does not receive a new deal, so owners will need to monitor the situation. Thomas should be one of the first receivers selected if he reports to the team by Week 1.

Cowboys | Dallas dismisses collusion talk

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 14:03:34 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant and Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas' contract situations are under investigation by the NFL to determine whether the two teams colluded. A Cowboys source said "there's nothing to it," when asked about the investigation.

Fantasy Tip: Neither player is expected to hold out right now. Both are studs at the wide receiver position, and it would take something drastic for them to fall out of the first two rounds of traditional drafts.

NFL | NFLPA investigating Dallas, Denver

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 14:04:53 -0700

The NFL Players Association is investigating the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos about possible collusion involving WR Dez Bryant and WR Demaryius Thomas. The NFLPA believes the Cowboys and Broncos talked about their unsigned wide receivers, which is not allowed in the collective bargaining agreement. They are trying to determine if collusion occurred and if they will file a claim.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant and Thomas have less than a week to sign long-term deals before the deadline. It is not known if either player will hold out during training camp but both should be ready for the season. Bryant and Thomas are two of the top fantasy receivers available and should be selected in one of the first few rounds of drafts.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas wants Megatron deal

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 09:29:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is looking for a deal similar to Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson's deal that averages $16 million per season with $48 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is a first-round consideration in most drafts and should be one of the top five receivers selected. He doesn't seem in danger of missing any games due to holdout, but it's worth watching.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas was busy in 2014

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 18:43:55 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas' 184 targets last year were the most in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Although Thomas is currently holding out for a long-term deal, he will resume his role as Peyton Manning's favorite target as soon as he returns to the field. He is a sure-fire WR1 and should be in the discussion for the best fantasy option at the position.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to skip camp?

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 20:35:15 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is not expected to report to training camp unless a long-term deal is reached before the July 15 deadline to sign franchise players to extensions, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: While there is a chance that Thomas' timing with Peyton Manning could suffer if he continues to stay away from the team, he should still be considered a WR1.

Broncos | Peyton Manning not happy

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 20:23:48 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is upset that WR Demaryius Thomas doesn't have a new deal and isn't practicing with the team, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Although the extra practice reps certainly wouldn't hurt, Thomas will be back on the field eventually. Meanwhile, the lost time won't change the fact that Thomas is a WR1 and Manning is a QB1 in all formats.

Broncos | DT not expected in camp without deal

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 17:04:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas isn't expected to report to training camp if he does not have a new contract by that point.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is fully expected to have a new contract, but it appears the receive is willing to try to force the Broncos' hand. It is highly unlikely the Broncos don't meet Thomas' demands, as they won't want to head into the season with a receiving corps of Emmanuel Sanders, Andre Caldwell and Cody Latimer, in what could be Peyton Manning's last season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' contract will get done

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 14:59:57 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas was not present at minicamp Tuesday, June 9, as he awaits a long-term deal. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he is very confident that the long-term deal will get done.

Fantasy Tip: As Kubiak also said, it's a matter of when, not if, Thomas will return. If a long-term deal somehow doesn't get done, he will still play with his one-year franchise tag. And as long as Peyton Manning is still throwing his way, he's a top-tier fantasy wide receiver.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has deadline

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 05:57:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has until July 15 to reach a new deal with the team or else they can't sign a new deal until after the season. It would cost $15.39 million to place the franchise tag on him in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas' holdout should affect him too much right now. However, if it lingers into training camp and the preseason, his timing with Peyton Manning could suffer. Timing is everything in that offense. He's still one of the top receivers in fantasy.

NFL | Potential 2016 free-agent WR class stout

Wed, 20 May 2015 09:28:45 -0700

The upcoming group of potential free-agent wide receivers includes four of the positions most dominant players, including Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green and Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, according to Spotrac.com. All four players are engaging in contract discussions on some level with their current teams.

Fantasy Tip: While it looks impressive on paper, the reality of any of these guys hitting the open market seems extremely low, let alone the idea of all four of them at the same time. Nevertheless, each one has something extra to play for in 2015, which only helps their fantasy value, all things being equal. Each player makes for a fine WR1 to build a fantasy team around.

Broncos | GM questions Demaryius Thomas' absence

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 12:21:24 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has decided not to participate in offseason workouts because he does not want to suffer an injury, but general manager John Elway does not know why Thomas is sitting out. "That makes no sense to me, him not getting hurt," Elway said. "If he gets hurt here, he's covered. If he gets hurt on his own... I don't understand it all. It makes no sense for him."

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is looking for a long-term contract from the team and has decided to skip the voluntary workouts. Thomas was one of the better fantasy receivers in 2014 and should be one of the first few selected in drafts next season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas plays waiting game

Tue, 07 Apr 2015 18:14:29 -0700

The Denver Broncos and WR Demaryius Thomas are unlikely to reach a long-term deal soon. It is likely that Thomas' representation waits to see what kind of deal the Dallas Cowboys and WR Dez Bryant reach before proceeding with a deal for his client. Thomas will be paid $12.822 million on the franchise tag this year, and that's close to the $13 million per year the Broncos offered last summer, so Denver can afford to wait.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is in the fold for the 2015 season one way or the other, and he will be a top-notch fantasy option at his position once again. He is resting his ankle and not working out with Peyton Manning right now, but heíll be plenty up to speed by the time the season rolls around.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas excited about offense

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 14:46:58 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas thinks the team will have a much more balanced offense under new head coach Gary Kubiak in 2015. "They've got everybody saying we're going to run, run, run and I know the coaches have run the ball before and that's good, I think," Thomas said. "We know we can throw, we know we have guys who can make plays, I don't think coach Kubiak is going to just ignore that. But I think we all feel like if we can add in a good running game, you can win the Super Bowl."

Fantasy Tip: Despite the fact that the Broncos will likely be more of a run-first team in 2015, Thomas should remain a WR1 for fantasy football owners, and he's worth taking with an early-round pick with Peyton Manning back for what could be his final season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas sitting out workouts

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 10:40:28 -0700

Correcting a previous report, Denver Broncos franchise free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas (ankle) is not working out with QB Peyton Manning and the other receivers at Duke University because he is allowing his ankle to heal.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas could miss all of the offseason workouts because of his contract situation. Thomas still likely will play for the Broncos in 2015 but may not receive the long-term deal he is looking for this offseason. Thomas should be one of the top fantasy receivers next season and be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' ankle fine

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 16:05:52 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (ankle, Achilles') took "about a month" to recover from an ankle/Achilles' injury that he suffered last December. Thomas said his ankle will be fine this offseason. "Ankle will be fine, I could go out and run routes right now if I had to," Thomas said. "But I don't want to have any pain, I'm pretty sure I'll be good in another month or so, with the Achilles', I'll be fine, I'll be great."

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is an elite NFL receiver that should be taken early in fantasy football drafts in 2015. Having Peyton Manning back for another season solidifies Thomas' standing as one of the most valuable fantasy receivers.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas will miss workouts

Mon, 30 Mar 2015 11:12:25 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas will not be present at the Broncos' offseason program or attend workouts with QB Peyton Manning at Duke University. Thomas is currently in Los Angeles for a charity event.

Fantasy Tip: Not much to take away from this news. As long as Thomas is healthy heading into training camp, there's no reason to think he shouldn't be considered a top-five fantasy wide receiver this season.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas has non-exclusive tag

Mon, 02 Mar 2015 23:55:06 -0800

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has the non-exclusive franchise tag, which means Thomas can have talks with other teams but those teams must supply two draft picks to the Broncos if Thomas signs with another club.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas is still worth every penny of the $12.823 million salary he would get in 2015 and is a solid WR1 option.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas officially received the franchise tag Monday, March 2.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas to get franchise tag

Sun, 01 Mar 2015 20:09:10 -0800

The Denver Broncos are expected to use the franchise tag on WR Demaryius Thomas Monday, March 2, all but ensuring the team keeps the wideout for the 2015 season. They are expected to use the "nonexclusive" tag, which makes it possible for other teams to negotiate with Thomas. However, the team has the right to match any offer, and if he is signed away the team is compensated by the signing team with two first-round draft picks.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas appears headed back for Denver for at least one more season and that's great news for his fantasy prospects. Look for what happened to Eric Decker when he left Peyton Manning and the team for Geno Smith and the New York Jets.

Broncos | Tag coming for Demaryius Thomas

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 17:04:54 -0800

Denver Broncos impending free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas will have the franchise tag placed on him if the team can't work out a long-term deal in the next few days, according to general manager John Elway. Both sides have had the framework of a five-year deal on the table over the last year. The franchise tag for receivers this year is expected to be in the $12.7 to $12.9 million range.

Fantasy Tip: So Thomas, as expected, will remain in Denver for at least one more season. That'll assure that he will remain an elite WR1 option for fantasy owners if Peyton Manning returns, which seems to be the case. Expect Thomas to come off the board in the late first or early second round of fake drafts.

Broncos | Denver not talking with Demaryius Thomas

Wed, 11 Feb 2015 09:55:34 -0800

Denver Broncos impending free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas and the team haven't had contract extension talks for some time, according to a source. The Broncos aren't ruling out using the franchise tag on Thomas, which would cost them roughly $13 million and would limit their options in retaining impending free-agent TE Julius Thomas.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to imagine the Broncos letting Thomas walk away this offseason. With Peyton Manning expected to return for a final season, Thomas should once again be worthy of elite WR1 numbers in a new offensive system.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas could be tagged

Sun, 08 Feb 2015 08:06:01 -0800

Denver Broncos impending free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas could receive the franchise tag if the two sides are not able to agree to a new deal before the deadline for teams to use the tag.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was one of the top fantasy receivers this past season and could be again if he remains with the Broncos and Peyton Manning returns. Thomas likely will be a starter if he signs with another team. Owners should consider Thomas as one of the first wide receivers off the board in drafts next season.
