Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy not starting Saturday

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 10:14:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, June 20. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is receiving a regular day off, with the team playing a day game following a night game. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting just .180 with three homers and 12 RBIs and better FantasyScore options can be found for a slightly higher price.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy will not start

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 08:05:22 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Sunday, June 14. C Martin Maldonado will take his place and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) probably is receiving a day off after playing in each of the last 12 games. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has received only start this month and hitting .177 this season, so owners on FantasyScore may want to look for a better option.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy to be DH

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 09:29:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy will serve as the designated hitter Sunday, June 7. C Martin Maldonado will be the starting catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has picked up eight hits and two RBI in five games since returning from injury. He is one of the more expensive catchers available but could be a solid option on FantasyScore. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) had four hits in his last start but is hitting .182 this season and may not be a great option.

Brewers | Juan Centeno starting at C

Sun, 17 May 2015 07:11:54 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Juan Centeno is starting behind the plate Saturday, May 17, against the New York Mets and RHP Noah Syndergaard. Centeno will hit seventh in the batting order. C Martin Maldonado will have the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Centeno ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitless through 10 plate appearances this season and is a career .191-hitter against righties. Even against an unproven Syndergaard, FantasyScore owners can do far better than Centeno.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy out 4-6 weeks?

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 16:07:27 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) will have an initial timetable of four-to-six weeks to recover from his broken toe, according to manager Ron Roenicke, Tuesday, April 21. C Martin Maldonado is next up on the depth chart and will see plenty of playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a career .222 hitter, but has 16 home runs in just 537 career plate appearances. Maldonado will be an option for Lucroy owners looking for some extra power and have the availability to take a hit to their batting average. Lucroy needs to be stashed whether or not owners have an available spot on their disabled list.

Brewers | Martin Maldonado to catch regularly

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 19:26:24 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Martin Maldonado is expected to take over as the primary catcher with C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) headed for the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured toe on his left foot.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado ($1,600; 3.2% of cap) will be the regular catcher with Juan Centeno coming up from the minors to serve as his backup. It won’t take much for Maldonado to live up to FantasyScore salary expectations, and his inclusion in your lineup will provide relief to afford more stars up top.
