Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will start for the team Sunday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon ($3,600; 7.2% of your cap) has a tough matchup against the New York Jets. However, he's the type of inexpensive play on FantasyScore that can put you in the driver's seat if he performs well.

Bills | Anthony Dixon likely the guy

Wed, 22 Oct 2014 07:26:17 -0700

The Buffalo Bills love RB Anthony Dixon, and he's likely to lead the way at running back over RB Bryce Brown.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon ($3,600; 7.2% of your cap) is a great flex option on FantasyScore that will allow you to load up on other positions. Brown ($3,400; 6.8%) isn't worth using this weekend without a concrete role.

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is likely to start against the New York Jets in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Check Dixon's price on FantasyScore Tuesday, Oct. 21, and keep him in mind as a flex option. Bryce Brown should also be involved in the offense, but he'd need to be involved in at least a 50-50 split to warrant consideration.

Bills | Anthony Dixon pressed into duty

Sun, 19 Oct 2014 14:54:40 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Spiller has a serious injury, and will likely be out multiple weeks. Jackson's status is uncertain, and he will have an MRI Monday to determine the severity of his injury. Dixon could be the featured back for a while, and as such he could be a steal in FantasyScore if his salary remains reasonable.

Bills | Run game shines in practice

Tue, 22 Jul 2014 17:50:00 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson and RB Anthony Dixon both reached the second level on runs during team drills Tuesday, July 22, and the team's top four backs all had runs that would have gone for first down yardage.

Fantasy Tip: If the offensive line continues to open holes, C.J. Spiller and Jackson stand to be the main beneficiaries. However, Spiller should be drafted as a RB2 and Jackson a RB3 because the two players split carries and come with some injury concerns.

Mon, 16 Dec 2013 15:25:13 -0800

San Francisco 49ers FB Bruce Miller (shoulder) is likely to miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs after injuring his left shoulder in Week 15. "It doesn't look good. It looks like he has an injury to his scapula," head coach Jim Harbaugh said. "He does so many things in the protection, in the run game, receiving out of the back field. He is a multitalented, multi-use player. Special teams contributor on two, three phases. It's a loss." The Niners are expected to re-sign FB Owen Marecic to fill Miller's shoes. RB Anthony Dixon could also be used at fullback.

San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon is considered the No. 4 running back on the roster, and he has the ability to play fullback and special teams, which helps his cause. However, he will need to have a strong training camp and preseason to hold off the likes of RB Jewel Hampton and DJ Harper.

49ers | LaMichael James familiar with offense

Thu, 29 Nov 2012 12:42:49 -0800

Even though San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James hasn't been active for any games this year, he may have the best shot to become the backup to RB Frank Gore. James and QB Colin Kaepernick ran a zone-read offense effectively together in the preseason, and James ran a similar offense in college at Oregon. However, James has spent almost all of his practice time on the scout team this year, and he hasn't had much experience in special teams, which could hurt his chances. RB Anthony Dixon has been active every game this year because he is vital to the special teams. RB Brandon Jacobs doesn't make any special teams contributions either, so if James is active over Dixon, the team will have two backup running backs who don't contribute on special teams.

49ers | Plenty of RB options

Wed, 28 Nov 2012 17:33:30 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore will continue to see the majority of touches with RB Kendall Hunter (Achilles') done for the year, and RBs Anthony Dixon, Brandon Jacobs, LaMichael James and Jewel Hampton are also available to pitch in. James may be the most intriguing because he provides the best change of pace to Gore. "He's a guy similar to (Saints running back Darren) Sproles. He can still carry the ball up inside. I know he's anxious to get out there and play," S Donte Whitner said.

"I think we can look to (Dixon) to have his most productive season as a Niner," Roman said. Dixon seemed hopelessly buried on the depth chart at running back when training camp began, but he has taken advantage of recent injuries at the position and has strung together two solid preseason games.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh gave the indication that he may not push RB Frank Gore (knee) in Week 11 with RBs Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon more than capable of carrying the load. "I would plan on (Gore) playing, but you just feel like right now that we've got a stable of backs," Harbaugh said. "We've got Frank Gore. We've got Kendall Hunter. We've got fresh legs in Anthony Dixon. This bodes really well for our football team." The team has a short week in Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens, which may be even more reason to rest Gore.
