Bills | Karlos Williams, Anthony Dixon probable

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 16:17:47 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (shoulder) and RB Anthony Dixon (knee) are listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, while Dixon fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) and Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should both receive playing time with LeSean McCoy ruled out. Williams was successful earlier this season and should receive a majority of the work at the position. Dixon could be a flex option in some leagues, but owners should be able to find other options.

Bills | Buffalo run game does nothing

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 17:15:23 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Dan Herron carried nine times for just 28 yards in the Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans, and RB Anthony Dixon ran seven times for 19 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Herron and Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) did very little for fantasy owners with LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams both on the sidelines nursing injuries. If the duo get a chance again, they are still not worth much fantasy consideration.

Bills | LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams ruled out

Fri, 09 Oct 2015 10:04:22 -0700

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (concussion) both missed practice again Friday, Oct. 9, and have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. Williams is still in the concussion protocol. RB Anthony Dixon is likely to start against the Titans, but RB Dan Herron could see a heavy workload.

Fantasy Tip: Because we don't know exactly who will get more work against the Titans, Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a deep sleeper pick that probably won't end up being worth your time. Herron isn't available on FantasyScore after signing midweek.

Bills | Dan Herron could see significant work

Thu, 08 Oct 2015 15:04:11 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will start in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, but RB Dan Herron could see more carries than Dixon in the game.

Fantasy Tip: This is a strange development since Herron was just signed this week. Unfortunately Herron won't be available on FantasyScore, but this news should make you less optimistic about using Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) as a deep sleeper in your daily lineups.

Bills | Anthony Dixon likely the Week 5 guy

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 08:11:31 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will likely be the main running back against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5, according to head coach Rex Ryan

Fantasy Tip: Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a basement flyer if you want to skimp at flex on FantasyScore. He doesn't have a ton of upside in the matchup, though.

Bills | Karlos Williams day-to-day

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 09:20:48 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams (concussion) is listed as day-to-day and must be cleared from the NFL-mandated concussion protocol before he can play in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. The Bills would have to turn to RBs Anthony Dixon and Cierre Wood if both Williams and RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) cannot play this weekend. General manager Doug Whaley said the team could sign another runner this week, and they could re-sign RB Bryce Brown, who was released last month.

Fantasy Tip: We probably won't know until much later this week if Williams ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) will be cleared to play this weekend. He's a big risk on FantasyScore now, and McCoy isn't expected to play, either. If Williams can't suit up, Dixon ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is worth a look as a deep sleeper in a flex spot.

Bills | LeSean McCoy may be limited

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 07:59:41 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's (hamstring) injured hamstring is not 100% at this point, so McCoy is not expected to receive his normal workload against the New England Patriots in Week 2. RBs Karlos Williams and Anthony Dixon likely will receive more snaps if McCoy is limited.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) probably will still see a majority of the carries during the game but probably will sit out more often. McCoy could still be a starting option, but owners should lower expectations. Williams ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is coming off a solid Week 1 performance and could be a cheaper flex option on FantasyScore. Dixon ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) probably will see some snaps but is not a great fantasy option.

Bills | Concern LeSean McCoy won't be ready?

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 09:32:19 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) seems to be in some danger of missing the season opener Sept. 13. "Well we certainly expect him to be ready to go, I hope," coach Rex Ryan said Monday, Aug. 31. "If not then the next man has to step up. Boobie (Anthony Dixon) got a lot of reps out there today. Bryce Brown got a lot of reps today. So we will see. I am not going to put that all on one man. If he is not ready to go, he won't be in there."

Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on the situation if you're a McCoy owner, obviously. However, this also means that Dixon and/or Brown could be excellent one-week plays in traditional leagues and FantasyScore.

Bills | Buffalo players out for Saturday?

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 15:19:26 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (hip) is not expected to play Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Rex Ryan. The statuses of WR Percy Harvin (hip) and RBs Bryce Brown (hamstring) and Anthony Dixon (calf) are uncertain.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills have had their fair share of injuries this offseason, especially on offense. Woods and Harvin are the more notable absences of the four. Harvin is a risky proposition in fantasy drafts this year considering his injury history. Woods is a less risky option and worth a look as a WR4 or WR5.

Bills | Two Bills RBs out of practice

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 13:28:03 -0700

Buffalo Bills RBs Fred Jackson (hamstring) and Anthony Dixon (calf) did not practice Monday, Aug. 17.

Fantasy Tip: When healthy, Jackson is the favorite to be the Bills' No. 2 running back behind LeSean McCoy. Dixon will compete with Bryce Brown for the No. 3 spot. Jackson has RB4 potential in PPR leagues if he can play a full season.

Bills | Anthony Dixon a full go

Thu, 18 Dec 2014 13:35:11 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon (chest) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Tip: The Oakland Raiders present a great matchup on the ground for Dixon ($3,400) and the Bills. However, keep track of C.J. Spiller's (collarbone) status. If he returns, that could really cut into Dixon's work and render him largely useless in Week 16.

Bills | Anthony Dixon takes part in practice

Wed, 17 Dec 2014 13:10:57 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon (chest) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon has lost some of his work since Fred Jackson returned to the lineup and received six carries in Week 15. Dixon costs $3,400 on FantasyScore, but owners should be able to find better options.

Bills | Anthony Dixon, Bryce Brown shared work

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 11:46:56 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon played 33 offensive snaps in the team's Week 11 game, while RB Bryce Brown received 28 offensive snaps.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon rushed for 35 yards in the game, while Brown rushed for 14 yards, but he also caught seven passes for 57 yards. Fred Jackson is expected to return in Week 12 and may receive a majority of the work. Jackson probably will have the most fantasy value in Week 12.

Bills | Anthony Dixon leads backfield

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 20:43:13 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon carried the ball a team-high 10 times in the team's Week 11 game Thursday, Nov 13. He finished with 35 yards rushing and also caught two passes for 13 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon had four more carries than Bryce Brown, but Brown had 10 targets in the passing game compared to just two for Dixon. Neither back was effective on the ground Thursday, and when Fred Jackson returns, Dixon seems more likely to lose value given Brown's ability to contribute in the passing game.

Bills | Anthony Dixon keeps legs moving

Mon, 10 Nov 2014 07:22:26 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is fifth in the NFL with 2.31 yards per carry after contact this season.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon should remain involved with Fred Jackson back. He rushed nine times for 62 yards in Week 10. He could be a matchup flex option.

Bills | Anthony Dixon starting

Sun, 26 Oct 2014 09:09:35 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon will start for the team Sunday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon ($3,600; 7.2% of your cap) has a tough matchup against the New York Jets. However, he's the type of inexpensive play on FantasyScore that can put you in the driver's seat if he performs well.

Wed, 22 Oct 2014 10:53:40 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is working with the starters in practice Wednesday, Oct. 22. RB Bryce Brown is working with the second-string offense.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon could be a nice flex option in FantasyScore this week, where he will cost $3,600 (7.2% of cap).

Bills | Anthony Dixon likely the guy

Wed, 22 Oct 2014 07:26:17 -0700

The Buffalo Bills love RB Anthony Dixon, and he's likely to lead the way at running back over RB Bryce Brown.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon ($3,600; 7.2% of your cap) is a great flex option on FantasyScore that will allow you to load up on other positions. Brown ($3,400; 6.8%) isn't worth using this weekend without a concrete role.

Bills | Anthony Dixon in line to start

Mon, 20 Oct 2014 06:21:03 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon is likely to start against the New York Jets in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Check Dixon's price on FantasyScore Tuesday, Oct. 21, and keep him in mind as a flex option. Bryce Brown should also be involved in the offense, but he'd need to be involved in at least a 50-50 split to warrant consideration.

Bills | Anthony Dixon pressed into duty

Sun, 19 Oct 2014 14:54:40 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon was pressed into duty in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings due to injuries to RBs Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (collarbone). Dixon finishes with 13 carries for 51 yards, and he added three receptions for 15 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Spiller has a serious injury, and will likely be out multiple weeks. Jackson's status is uncertain, and he will have an MRI Monday to determine the severity of his injury. Dixon could be the featured back for a while, and as such he could be a steal in FantasyScore if his salary remains reasonable.

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 19:05:45 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon was listed as the No. 3 back on the team's first official depth chart with RB Bryce Brown listed as the No. 4 back.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has received a lot of hype this offseason, but if he remains behind Dixon on the depth chart, he is going to need several injuries to occur before he can make an impact in fantasy circles.

Bills | Run game shines in practice

Tue, 22 Jul 2014 17:50:00 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson and RB Anthony Dixon both reached the second level on runs during team drills Tuesday, July 22, and the team's top four backs all had runs that would have gone for first down yardage.

Fantasy Tip: If the offensive line continues to open holes, C.J. Spiller and Jackson stand to be the main beneficiaries. However, Spiller should be drafted as a RB2 and Jackson a RB3 because the two players split carries and come with some injury concerns.

He is a multitalented, multi-use player. Special teams contributor on two, three phases. It's a loss." The Niners are expected to re-sign FB Owen Marecic to fill Miller's shoes.
