Fri, 25 Jul 2014 09:52:01 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Shonn Greene (knee) is ready for training camp after missing time in the offseason due to a right knee injury, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Fantasy Tip: A healthy Greene would be a part of an expected split in the backfield that'll also include rookie Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster. Greene is boring but could be serviceable in short-yardage situations, which makes him a fantasy RB5 at least. Sankey has the best chance to stake a claim to the No. 1 spot, which could help decrease his price to a reasonable RB3 in drafts. McCluster could be a surprisingly effective PPR depth grab.

Tennessee Titans RB Shonn Greene (knee) is expected to be ready for training camp this summer after recently having right knee surgery.

Mon, 28 Apr 2014 21:08:27 -0700
The Tennessee Titans minicamp might offer a few clues as to how the team plans to use RB Dexter McCluster in an offense which no longer features RB Chris Johnson (Jets). Teammates have raved about McCluster's footwork and quickness.
Fri, 04 Apr 2014 09:02:02 -0700
The Tennessee Titans plan on releasing RB Chris Johnson Friday, April 4, according to sources. He averaged a career-worst 3.9 yards per carry in 2013 and didn't have a run longer than 30 yards. Johnson is scheduled to make $8 million in 2014.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson will latch on with a team somewhere, but he's unlikely to be a lead back. Expect him to sign to form a running back tandem wherever he goes. In his absence, the Titans have a backfield that consists of Shonn Greene and the versatile Dexter McCluster. Expect Tennessee to address their RB situation in the draft, as well.
Wed, 12 Mar 2014 09:34:04 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Dexter McCluster is expected to have a big role on offense next season. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt is expected to use McCluster like he did San Diego Chargers RB Danny Woodhead this season when he was the Chargers offensive coordinator. Fantasy Tip: It appears McCluster will be involved in the offense with the Titans. Owners in point-per-reception leagues could consider using a late-round flier on McCluster during drafts.

Tue, 29 Oct 2013 11:09:58 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster had a team-high seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 8 win over the Cleveland Brown. He also had one rush for five yards. "As a player, you never know when it's going to be your day," said McCluster, who was targeted by QB Alex Smith a team-high 10 times. "You just have to be there when it's time. I was able to get started early and get some balls early." His 13 touches were a season high, and the team has been looking for someone to step up and help lighten the workload for RB Jamaal Charles. Smith thinks the team will use McCluster more in the second half of the season.
Fantasy Tip: With Dwayne Bowe being limited with an injury, McCluster stepped up last Sunday. Bowe has been a disappointment, and McCluster's jack-of-all-trades versatility could make him a valuable asset down the stretch, especially in point-per-reception leagues. Consider adding him as receiver depth in deeper formats.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 13:18:39 -0700

Mon, 19 Aug 2013 09:20:36 -0700
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired WR A.J. Jenkins from the San Francisco 49ers Monday, Aug. 19, in exchange for WR Jonathan Baldwin.
Fantasy Tip: Jenkins wasn't impressing the Niners in his effort to replace Michael Crabtree (Achilles') as a main receiving threat opposite Anquan Boldin. He'll likely have less of a chance to make an impact in KC, but it is a new start, so don't overlook that opportunity. He'll have to compete with Donnie Avery and Dexter McCluster. Jenkins might be worth a late-round flier if he picks up the offense quickly and impresses in the final two weeks of the preseason.
Thu, 08 Aug 2013 08:47:23 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster is lining up everywhere eligible for a receiver in training camp. He has delivered some big plays. It's a fun offense."

The Kansas City Chiefs released their first depth chart Sunday, Aug. 4, and WRs Donnie Avery and Dexter McCluster are listed as backups behind WRs Dwayne Bowe and Jonathan Baldwin. However, Avery and McCluster are frequently used in the slot or in multi-wideout formations.
Fantasy Tip: Avery and McCluster might have more fantasy potential than Baldwin, who has been rather disappointing over his first two NFL seasons. Still, each of the three should be considered WR4 or flex fantasy options.
Fri, 26 Jul 2013 19:39:37 -0700
When Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was with the Philadelphia Eagles, he was intrigued by WR Dexter McCluster during the 2010 NFL Draft. When Reid was hired in January, he immediately began making plans for McCluster. "He gives you a little flexibility," Reid said. "You can move him around a little. We'll use him here or there. I don't know where he couldn't line up, to be honest, as far as skill positions go. He's got that many tools in the belt."
Fantasy Tip: McCluster might see his stock climb on draft day in fantasy leagues. Realistically, he should only be worth a late-round pick based upon his previous production, but he could find himself going in the neighborhood of Rounds 12 through 14 if he has a strong training camp and preseason.
Fri, 26 Jul 2013 19:36:51 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith connected with WR Dexter McCluster on a deep pass down the middle that was hauled in for a touchdown Friday, July 26, on the first play at training camp. More importantly than the big plays, head coach Andy Reid likes consistency, and Smith went several plays into practice before throwing his first incompletion. "There weren't a lot of balls on the ground, and it looked like the defense had people covered," Reid said.
Fantasy Tip: Smith is considered a Top 25 fantasy quarterback right now, and he should be treated as a low-end QB2 until he proves otherwise. His average draft position (ADP) has been around the 180th overall pick.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the organized team activities Thursday, May 23, and was not able to return. Head coach Andy Reid said he believes McCluster will be able to return to practice next week.
Fantasy Tip: The injury does not sound serious, but McCluster has time to let the injury heal if he is not able to return next week. McCluster likely will be used as a slot receiver this season. He could be a late-round option in point-per-reception leagues, but he likely would be a waiver wire pickup in most leagues.
Thu, 16 May 2013 16:37:02 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin appears to be the favorite for the No. 2 wide receiver job at this point but has not emerged as the dominant offseason player like he was last offseason. WRs Donnie Avery, Dexter McCluster and Terrance Copper are also expected to be candidates for the job.

"He's a unique talent because he can do a couple, three different things for you whether it's special teams as a returner or whether it's offense as a receiver or a running back."
Sun, 07 Apr 2013 11:31:42 -0700

"Keeping the defense on their toes," McCluster said. "Move me around, make a headache for the defense. He said he wants to use me in multiple places. That's the type of player I am and that's the type of player I've been. Now I have the opportunity to showcase what I can really do."
Thu, 14 Mar 2013 18:01:29 -0700
