Eagles | Riley Cooper released

Mon, 08 Feb 2016 10:44:48 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper was released Monday, Feb. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper had just 21 catches for 327 yards and two touchdowns in 2015. He'll likely land somewhere else as a third or fourth receiver. His fantasy value will depend on where he winds up, but don't expect him to be much more than a WR4 or 5 moving forward.

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 11:32:13 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) and WR Riley Cooper (toe) practiced fully Friday, Nov. 13, and are probable for Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Agholor ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Cooper ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) haven't been productive enough to suggest using on FantasyScore this week.

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 10:21:39 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) and WR Riley Cooper (toe) practiced Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Agholor ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is the only one worth consideration on FantasyScore against the Miami Dolphins. He's a watch list player for now until he shows us more.

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 11:32:18 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 11. WR Riley Cooper (toe) was limited.

Fantasy Tip: Agholor ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is the only one worth consideration on FantasyScore against the Miami Dolphins. However, he has been out for a bit and needs to show us something before using him.

Eagles | Riley Cooper should be on the field

Sat, 24 Oct 2015 07:51:42 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (knee) is expected to play in the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers even though he is listed as questionable for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has played well over the last three weeks with two touchdowns during that span. Cooper likely will see more targets with Nelson Agholor still out, but owners should be able to find better options to use.

Eagles | Mixed bag for Eagles receivers

Fri, 23 Oct 2015 09:30:22 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (knee) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 23, and is questionable against the Carolina Panthers. WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) was limited Friday, but he's out for Week 7. WR Josh Huff (knee) practiced Friday and is probable.

Fantasy Tip: Huff ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is an interesting basement flyer on FantasyScore because he has received eight targets the last two weeks and caught a touchdown two weeks ago. Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) doesn't present the upside you'd want in this kind of basement grab.

Thu, 22 Oct 2015 09:06:29 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Agholor ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) aren't good starts on FantasyScore against the Carolina Panthers this week.

Wed, 21 Oct 2015 10:26:08 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Agholor ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) are bit parts right now that are tough to start on FantasyScore against the Carolina Panthers this week.

Eagles | Riley Cooper has game-high on MNF

Mon, 19 Oct 2015 22:17:02 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (knee) posted three receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) left the game briefly due to a knee contusion, but he was able to return and finish up. He could be a good low-end FantasyScore option going forward if Nelson Agholor continues to miss time and Cooper catches Sam Bradford's eye more.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (knee) left in the third quarter of the Week 6 game against the New York Giants Monday, Oct. 19, due to a knee contusion. He is probable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has already more than paid for himself for FantasyScore players with a 32-yard touchdown in the first half.

LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring), FS Chris Maragos (quadriceps) and OT Jason Peters (quadriceps) are listed as questionable, while TE Trey Burton (shoulder), WR Riley Cooper (knee) and WR Josh Huff (hamstring) are listed as probable. Alonso was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 2, while the other players fully participated in practice.

Eagles | Riley Cooper, Josh Huff with full practice

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 12:32:05 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WRs Riley Cooper (knee) and Josh Huff (hamstring) both practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Philly's offense has yet to really click through three games. The matchup against the Washington Redskins is very intriguing. However, with hurricane conditions possible, the passing game may be non-existent. Avoiding both Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Huff ($2,000) as deep sleepers is the right thing to do.

Eagles | Riley Cooper has so-so night

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 22:20:33 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper posted three receptions for 25 yards in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was targeted four times in the loss, and could be a decent WR3 or flex play going forward in Philly's up-tempo offense, especially if you want to save FantasyScore salary to spread across other positions.

Eagles | Riley Cooper doesn't have a catch

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 08:02:29 -0700

Eagles | Riley Cooper hurts thumb

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 20:02:31 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (thumb) exited a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 22, with a thumb injury. X-rays were negative, but he did not return.

Fantasy Tip: With Nelson Agholor coming on strong, Cooper probably won't have a big role this season. At best, he is a late-round option.

Eagles | Riley Cooper still eager to play

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 13:55:51 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper knows he needs to compete to stay a starter. "I'm still extremely hungry. I'm not complacent. I'm not content, by any means," Cooper said. "I think that's how you have to approach the game every single year. They're trying to bring someone in to take your job. I know that. I'm going to do everything I can for that not to happen."

Fantasy Tip: Cooper is technically still a starter, but at least Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff could eventually surpass him. Jordan Matthews is already the Eagles' No. 1 receiver. Cooper does have his work cut out for him if he wants to maintain starting status. Agholor and Huff are more promising from a fantasy perspective, though. Cooper should only be drafted for depth.

Eagles | Josh Huff working with starters

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 07:13:55 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Josh Huff has been working with the starting unit with WR Riley Cooper opposite of him. WR Nelson Agholor could eventually take snaps away from Huff and/or Cooper eventually, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff McLane.

Fantasy Tip: It's a fluid situation worth monitoring throughout camp. Huff is a WR5 flyer for now, but Agholor appears to be gaining steam and is on the cusp of WR4 territory. Cooper is a WR4, but he has very minimal upside.

Eagles | Riley Cooper may not start in 2015

Sun, 10 May 2015 23:22:48 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper may not have a starting job this season with the drafting of WR Nelson Agholor.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper caught just 577 yards of passes in 2014, and that number figures to go down in 2015 if Agholor catches on. Cooper's fantasy value is declining in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper had five catches for 53 yards, including touchdown catches of three and 16 yards, in a 27-24 loss to the Washington Redskins Saturday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper had just a single touchdown catch coming into the game, and at best, he is the No. 3 option in the team's passing attack.

Eagles | Riley Cooper underwhelming so far

Tue, 23 Sep 2014 16:07:56 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper leads all wide receivers in routes run, according to Cecil Lammey of ESPN Denver, but has totaled just nine catches for 71 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It's been all Jeremy Maclin as far as Eagles' wide receivers are concerned. The bright side is that Cooper is getting a ton of playing time, which is bound to increase his production eventually.

Eagles | Riley Cooper's role decreasing?

Sat, 20 Sep 2014 18:41:23 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper has five catches for 37 yards and no scores in two games this season despite Chip Kelly's offense creating one-on-one opportunities on the outside by drawing the safeties toward the middle of the field.

Fantasy Tip: While Cooper has been nonexistent, Jeremy Maclin has 21 targets in two games and has scored a touchdown in both. Maclin appears to have stepped into the role occupied by DeSean Jackson last year, and with a $6,200 salary (12.4% of cap) at FantasyScore, Maclin offers plenty of upside in Week 3 against a Washington defense that has yet to be tested by a legit passing attack.

Eagles | Riley Cooper probable for Week 1

Fri, 05 Sep 2014 11:33:10 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is probable for Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: With a FantasyScore price of $4,900 (9.80% of cap), Cooper is a nice flex option with a good matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Eagles | Riley Cooper practices again

Thu, 04 Sep 2014 13:12:00 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper has been battling injuries for much of training camp and the preseason, but he should be ready to suit up in Week 1. With a price of $4,900 in FantasyScore, he's a nice under-the-radar option as maybe a flex against the poor Jacksonville Jaguars defense.

Eagles | Riley Cooper fully practices

Wed, 03 Sep 2014 12:45:18 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Cooper should be able to play in the opener despite his minor injury. Cooper should be considered as a No. 3 wide receiver or flex option in most leagues.

Eagles | Riley Cooper takes part in practice

Mon, 18 Aug 2014 10:38:00 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (ankle) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 18, for the second consecutive day. Cooper is expected to play in the third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper has missed some time with the injury but appears to be ready to play and should be ready for the start of the season as long as he does not suffer a setback. Cooper probably has more value in non-point-per-reception leagues and should be considered a No. 4 wide receiver in most leagues.

Eagles | Riley Cooper practicing

Mon, 18 Aug 2014 08:48:54 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (foot) is practicing again Monday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper's rapport with Nick Foles last season vaulted him into WR3 status. Jeremy Maclin's return and the emergence of Zach Ertz may temper his targets a bit, though.

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 16:45:10 -0700

As expected, Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (foot) is inactive fort he preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper is hopeful of participating in the third preseason game, which generally is considered the most meaningful of the exhibition schedule. He has been sidelined for the past two weeks, but it doesn't sound like something which will keep him from starting the regular season.

Tue, 05 Aug 2014 15:44:06 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (foot) continues to wear a boot on his right foot, and he hasn't practiced in over a week.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper should be fine for the regular season, but he's losing valuable practice repetitions in training camp. That leaves the door open for Jeremy Maclin and others to gain more chemistry with Nick Foles.

Eagles | Offseason offensive work looks fast

Fri, 30 May 2014 06:33:55 -0700

The Philadelphia Eagles' organized team activities have displayed their intent to move a lot faster and increase the amount of plays run, in the observation of Nick Fierro. They were quick in moving to the line of scrimmage even before the whistle blew. "We're just running as many reps as we can so we can get it on tape and teach them," head coach Chip Kelly said. "... What we're trying to do is, can we get a maximum number of reps for everybody, because we do have three and four groups, both offensively and defensively? Let's just get a lot of stuff on tape so we can teach off it."

Fantasy Tip: Of course, such an overwhelming pace allowed the offense to dominate last year before they fell apart, for numerous reasons. Of course LeSean McCoy should have another elite year, but the other fantasy-relevant members of this offense in their second year with this system -- Nick Foles, Jeremy Maclin (despite his injury), Riley Cooper, Zach Ertz -- could be in line for huge steps forward with this continuity.

Eagles | Riley Cooper to have bigger role

Wed, 05 Mar 2014 18:12:30 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper is expected to have a larger part in the offense following the release of WR Jason Avant.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper still has a lot to prove to fantasy owners after his breakout season. While Avant is out of the way, DeSean Jackson and a healthy Jeremy Maclin are expected to be back, so Cooper will still be a WR4 or flex kind of fantasy option in 2014.
