The Baltimore Ravens don't expect TE Owen Daniels to serve as their No. 1 tight end this season, as they already have TE Dennis Pitta on roster. Offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak likes to use two tight ends frequently, and he might install that as the base offense.
Fantasy Tip: Daniels and Pitta will be on the field together often, so they'll eat into each other's production. Both are great red zone threats, as well. Pitta has been one of Joe Flacco's favorite targets in the past, so he'll probably favor him over Daniels, at least initially.

The Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms on an undisclosed deal with free-agent TE Owen Daniels (Texans) Thursday, April 3.
Fantasy Tip: Daniels has plenty of familiarity with new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, who was the head coach for Daniels in Houston. The Ravens could use plenty of two tight end sets with Dennis Pitta, but this signing will probably put Daniels ahead of Pitta on the depth chart. Baltimore has some nice pieces in the receiving game now to give Joe Flacco plenty of options. Daniels has potential to be a steady midrange TE1.

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta said he is close to getting back to full strength after a hip injury in 2013. Pitta will be able to participate in the team's full offseason program that starts next month. "The big thing for me right now is just continue to strengthen my hip and my leg and all that," Pitta said. "Typically, you don't regain that four months after surgery, and so that's something that I continue to work on, and I've been training and trying to get that to 100 percent, which I'm close."

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta's new contract includes $16 million in guaranteed money. Pitta will also receive $21 million in the first three years of the contract.
Fri, 28 Feb 2014 12:56:42 -0800
The Baltimore Ravens re-signed TE Dennis Pitta to a five-year contract extension worth $32 million Friday, Feb. 28.
Fantasy Tip: Pitta should still be one of Joe Flacco's favorite targets, assuming he can stay healthy. Having a full offseason without worrying about the contract will help as well. Pitta should be one of the top tight ends in football in 2014. He is more of a midrange TE1, but he is more valuable in PPR leagues.
