Jets | Eric Decker update

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 05:16:19 -0700

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) injured the same hamstring that bothered him in training camp Sunday, Sept. 14. However, this injury is believed to be more severe, and he will have an MRI.

Fantasy Tip: The loss of Decker would increase the burden on Jeremy Kerley, David Nelson and Greg Salas to produce for the offense.

Wed, 16 Jul 2014 11:03:10 -0700

New York Jets WR David Nelson said his teammates believe this is QB Geno Smith's team and that QB Michael Vick is seen as the backup. "For all of us, it's Geno's team," Nelson said. "And from what we've been told and what we've been working toward, it's Geno's team, and Mike's coming in to kind of (fill) a supporting role. If anything happens to Geno, we have a proven starter and a proven winner backing him up. That's the direction we're moving."

Jets | David Nelson, Greg Salas looking good

Wed, 18 Jun 2014 16:15:58 -0700

New York Jets WR David Nelson connected with QB Geno Smith a few times in practice Wednesday, June 18, and the two look to be developing some chemistry. WR Greg Salas also looked good in practice while making several catches, including one that would likely have been a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Chemistry this early in offseason workouts usually doesn't mean a whole lot, especially for receivers this far down the depth chart. Nelson is more fantasy noteworthy, but he's battling for duties as the team's third receiver.

Jets | Receiving corps is deep

Wed, 18 Jun 2014 13:17:00 -0700

New York Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg believes the team's receiving corps is extremely deep and has more than a handful of guys who can play at a real high level.

Fantasy Tip: Eric Decker is a potential WR3 and the only Jets' receiver to count on for weekly contributions. Jeremy Kerley, Stephen Hill and David Nelson will battle for targets behind Decker, but none are worth more than a late-round pick.
