The San Francisco 49ers and CB Tramaine Brock agreed to a four-year, $16 million deal Friday, Nov. 22, according to a source. Brock's deal calls for $7 million in guaranteed money. Brock is set to make his first start in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins Monday, Nov. 25.

San Francisco 49ers CB Tarell Brown (ribs) did not fly back to the Bay Area with the team after the Week 11 game against the New Orleans Saints due to a rib injury he suffered in the second quarter, NFL.com reported. He was carted off the field, and was in obvious pain walking out of the locker room after the game. If he cannot play in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins Monday, Nov. 25, CB Tramaine Brock would start at right cornerback, with CB Eric Wright serving in nickel situations.

San Francisco 49ers CB Eric Wright could compete with CB Tramaine Brock for the No. 3 cornerback job at some point before the season is over. Wright probably will not be an immediate threat because he was recently activated from the Non-Football Injury list.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers CB Tramaine Brock played so well in Week 5 against the Houston Texans, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Monday, Oct. 7, that Brock has earned the right to remain the team's No. 3 cornerback ahead of CB Nnamdi Asomugha (knee). "Really pleased with the way Tramaine is ascending," Harbaugh said. "When you play like that, you're going to continue to play." Brock has two interceptions in Week 5, including a pick that was returned for a score.
