Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jameson Taillon (elbow) said he is already throwing on a mound in the bullpen and feeling fine. He expects to start facing hitters in March, but likely won't be in a live game until extended spring training.
Fantasy Tip: Taillon is one of the team's top prospects, and he is making his way back from Tommy John surgery. Taillon doesn't expect to see game action until May, so it is uncertain if he'll make it to the majors in 2015 or not. Fantasy owners in standard leagues need not bother with him yet, but those in long-term keeper formats certainly want to add him to the bottom of draft boards.

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jameson Taillon (elbow) has decided to undergo Tommy John surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Having reconstructive surgery was a last resort for Taillon, whose right elbow had been problematic during spring training. The decision was made after he had consulted at least three doctors and resting the elbow did not improve matters. Taillon is expected to be sidelined for 12 to 18 months.
