Rays | Corey Dickerson could be primary DH

Sun, 07 Feb 2016 07:32:35 -0800

Tampa Bay Rays OF Corey Dickerson is expected to serve as the club's primary designated hitter if 1B James Loney is traded. OFs Brandon Jennings, Kevin Kiermaier and Steven Souza Jr. would play left field, center field and right field respectively, with OF Brandon Guyer serving as the fourth outfielder and a starting option versus left-handed pitching.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson hit .304 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs in 65 games for the Rockies last season and said he would have no problem serving as a DH. He could fall to the middle rounds of drafts for AL-only and deep mixed leagues because of the move away from Coors Field.

Rockies | Colorado trades for closer

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 12:45:54 -0800

The Colorado Rockies traded OF Corey Dickerson to the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, Jan. 28, in exchange for RP Jake McGee and unknown minor leaguers.

Fantasy Tip: McGee has always had closer stuff, and now he should be expected to serve as the Rockies No. 1 fireman in the ninth inning. Before this, the Rockies were expected to use Jason Motte and/or Chad Qualls, so McGee is certainly an upgrade. Don't worry so much about the hitter's paradise of Coors Field. McGee has the tools to succeed in this role and can be a top-15 fantasy closer now.

Rays | Tampa acquires Corey Dickerson

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 12:40:10 -0800

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired OF Corey Dickerson from the Colorado Rockies Thursday, Jan. 28, in exchange for multiple pitchers, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Stay tuned for the other pieces of this trade. Right off the bat, moving out of Coors Field to a more hitter-friendly stadium is bad news for Dickerson's overall fantasy value, as he hit only .257 with five home runs on the road in 2015. This could present a buying opportunity in the middle rounds, however, since most will be down on Dickerson.

Rays | Tampa eyeing Corey Dickerson

Tue, 26 Jan 2016 11:45:13 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson may be the most likely trade option for the Rockies, as he'd require less of a return than OF Charlie Blackmon, according to sources. The Tampa Bay Rays are involved with Dickerson.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson was a disappointment because of his injury last year. However, when healthy he has plenty of power, but a move away from Coors Field would limit his upside considerably.

Rockies | Colorado sought Rays starter

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 10:16:21 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon or OF Corey Dickerson were potentially dangled to the Tampa Bay Rays as the Rockies were seeking starting pitching. The Rays are well-stocked in outfielders and are likely looking for prospects for their starters.

Fantasy Tip: If either player finds himself on a different team next season, the fantasy impact could be pretty big. Neither player has a long track record pre-Coors Field. As it stands, they're midrange outfielders. That could depreciate if they're dealt.

Royals | Kansas City eyeing Colorado outfielders?

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 14:37:27 -0800

Colorado Rockies OFs Carlos Gonzalez, Corey Dickerson and Charlie Blackmon could be of trade interest to the Kansas City Royals, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.

Fantasy Tip: The Royals have holes in each of their corner outfield positions. One is expected to be filled by Jarred Dyson, but trading for one of the outfielders from Colorado could work, too. It all depends on how willing Kansas City is to open up their prospect wallet. Stay tuned for updates.

Rockies | Colorado outfielders are popular

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 12:13:38 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is primarily being discussed in trade talks, but OFs Charlie Blackmon and Corey Dickerson are also receiving calls from other teams.

Fantasy Tip: The free-agent market for outfielders is unfolding, and some teams would rather not pay the high prices for the likes of Yoenis Cespedes and Jason Heyward. All three Rockies outfielders are heavily coveted in all fantasy leagues, with Dickerson being the biggest risk because of injuries.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon resting Saturday

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 10:57:08 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Jake Peavy Saturday, Oct. 3. OF Corey Dickerson will play center field and bat second Saturday, while OF Ben Paulsen will play left field and hit seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is batting .286 with four home runs and 10 RBIs since Sept. 1, and is hitting .304 against San Francisco this year, making him a decent FantasyScore option today. Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is batting just .224 over the same time period, and isn't a great choice for daily lineups.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson produces at the plate

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 05:51:20 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has been on a hot streak over his last few games with eight hits, two home runs and five RBI over his last three games. Owners could consider using him on FantasyScore while he is playing well.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon still hurting

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 10:46:18 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon (neck) remains out of the lineup Thursday, Sept. 24. OF Corey Dickerson is starting in center field and is hitting leadoff against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is a risk/reward play on FantasyScore this afternoon. Hitting leadoff raises his daily value, but he has none of his seven homers this year off lefties and is hitting .263 (10-for-38) against them.
