Orioles | Jimmy Paredes getting used to right field

Sat, 12 Dec 2015 11:58:11 -0800

Baltimore Orioles OF Jimmy Paredes has been playing right field on a daily basis in winter ball and said he has become more comfortable with the position. He could be in the mix for Baltimore's starting right field job if the club doesn't acquire an outfielder this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes has played 56 career games at the MLB level in right field, along with 71 games at third base, 17 games at second base and two games in left field. However, he saw most of his playing time last season as Baltimore's designated hitter, with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in 104 contests. Paredes should be targeted primarily in AL-only fantasy leagues, although his versatility could make him worthy of a late-round flier in deep mixed leagues as well.

Orioles | Steve Pearce starting vs. Yankees

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 14:07:30 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Steve Pearce is starting at first base and batting seventh against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Wednesday, Sept. 9. 2B Jimmy Paredes is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has struggled all season, and he is a low-end option in all fantasy formats, including at FantasyScore. Paredes ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) hasn't been receiving many at-bats of late, but he has played well when given an opportunity. Look out for favorable matchups when he is in the lineup to utilize Paredes going forward.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes receives start

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 07:59:40 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes will serve as the designated hitter against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Sunday, Sept. 6, and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has not received much playing time recently but does have four hits in his last three games. Owners on FantasyScore may want to look to use players that receive more consistent playing time for their lineups.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes the DH Friday

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 13:08:15 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes is serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison Friday, Sept. 4. C Steve Clevenger will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has fallen out of favor in Baltimore after a really nice first half of the season. With rosters expanding this week, it'll continue to be hard for him to find his way into the starting lineup. Most will easily overlook him tonight on FantasyScore, and he's a very mediocre second base target against Hutchison, who has been a much better pitcher at home in 2015.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes batting seventh vs. Royals

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 14:39:36 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes is batting seventh as the designated hitter against Kansas City Royals SP Johnny Cueto Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) owns a .181/.213/.236 slash line over 75 plate appearances since the All-Star break, as he has really fallen on hard times after a hot start to the season. Facing Cueto ($9,700, 19.4% of cap), Paredes is an extremely risky play at FantasyScore, and you should be able to find better value Wednesday.

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 07:43:18 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes is out of the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 16, against the Oakland Athletics. C Steve Clevenger will serve as the designated hitter and hit sixth in the order against RHP Kendall Graveman.

Fantasy Tip: Clevenger went 0-for-3 in his return to the lineup Saturday, and he'll need to get consistent playing time before becoming a FantasyScore option.

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 11:55:14 -0700

Baltimore Orioles DH Jimmy Paredes is back in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver Sunday, Aug. 9, batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is just 2-for-16 (.125) over the past week and is hitless in two at-bats against Weaver in his career. Better FantasyScore options are available this afternoon.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes dropped in order

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:14:29 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Jimmy Paredes is hitting fifth in the order as the designated hitter against Detroit Tigers SP Alfredo Simon Thursday, July 30, while OF Nolan Reimold is starting in left field and hitting second.

Fantasy Tip: Simon has really been struggling for the Tigers this year and is coming off a short outing due to injury in his last start. That makes both Reimold ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) and Paredes ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) attractive as value buys. Reimold could obviously return much more profit as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes will bat first

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 12:55:46 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Jimmy Paredes will serve as the designated hitter against Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer Friday, July 24, and is batting first in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has hit early in the lineup for most of the season but has not seen much time leading off. He has at least one hit in six of his last seven games and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Matt Wieters will be DH

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 13:05:00 -0700

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters will serve as the designated hitter against New York Yankees SP Ivan Nova Wednesday, July 22, and is batting fourth in the lineup. OF Jimmy Paredes is not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Wieters ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) remains in the lineup even though he will not be catching. He is hitting .250 this season but has only RBI during that span and may not be the best option on FantasyScore.
