Rangers | Yu Darvish could be done for year

Mon, 25 Aug 2014 15:34:11 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Yu Darvish (elbow) is unlikely to return to pitch again this year, according to general manager Jon Daniels. Daniels said the team will be extremely cautious in bringing their ace pitcher back in 2014. "With everything else we've dealt with and how important he is, we've said once he's completely asymptomatic and the doctor clears him, we'd get another scan and then if everything is clear, we'd get him back pitching," Daniel said. "By the calendar and how close to the end of the season we are, I don't know that it will allow him to pitch again." Darvish may not be able to get back on a mound for another 10 days to two weeks.

Rangers | Yu Darvish might not be ready

Tue, 19 Aug 2014 17:03:06 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Yu Darvish (elbow) might not be ready to come off the 15-day disabled list when he is eligible after two weeks. "I'm not really thinking about the 25th," manager Ron Washington said. "I just don't know what's going to be. I don't know what's going to happen there."

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners should be patient and wait until Darvish is officially activated and able to make it through one full start without any setbacks. The team might want to give him extra rest and not have him push it, as they are well out of contention and there is no reason to risk a setback.

Rangers | Yu Darvish's injury not long term

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 09:47:30 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Yu Darvish (elbow) isn't dealing with a long-term injury, according to team doctor Keith Meister. Darvish will miss at least two starts while he's on the disabled list. "I'm not too concerned," Darvish said. "I'm just taking a precautionary measure. I'm competitive. I want to go out there and compete but at the same time, I'm thinking about my long-term situation. I don't want to go out there and risk my future. I don't want my elbow to aggravate. I think it's a good decision that I'm making right now." SP Robbie Ross, who was called up to take Darvish's place in the rotation, will remain in the rotation based on how well he pitches.

Fantasy Tip: You're definitely happy if you're a Darvish owner. It looks like he may not even miss more than two starts, and he should definitely be back before the end of the season. Continue stashing him.

Thu, 14 Aug 2014 16:45:17 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Yu Darvish's (elbow) MRI exam revealed only mild right elbow inflammation, but there is no timetable for his return.

Fantasy Tip: It's definitely great news for Darvish owners. However, the Rangers won't be tempted to rush Darvish back with them far out of playoff contention. You'll have to be patient here and go with other alternatives in the meantime.
