|49ers | Colin Kaepernick to start Week 6|
Tue, 11 Oct 2016 10:43:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gabbert has produced some respectable fantasy numbers through five starts thanks to 172 yards and two scores rushing, but he has brutal in reality. Of course, Kaepernick wasn't much better in nine games last year, but this is a move worth making for Kelly, as Kaepernick is a great fit - athletically at least - for the kind of quarterback Kelly built his resume with in the college game. Consider him an inconsistent but potential high-upside QB2 for as long as he keeps the job.

|49ers | San Fran taking hard look at QB position|
Mon, 10 Oct 2016 09:53:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Despite his dreadful play overall, Gabbert has proved once again there is fantasy value to be had for a quarterback in Kelly's system. There is reportedly plenty of support for Christian Ponder in the locker room, although Colin Kaepernick has to be considered the favorite due to the fact he has been active over Ponder each of the first five weeks of the season. A change is likely coming soon, so stay tuned.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert could be benched|
Fri, 07 Oct 2016 05:39:17 -0700
San Francisco 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert's starting job will be evaluated after the Week 5 loss, according to head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly emphatically said Gabbert has performed better than QB Colin Kaepernick in practice, which is why Gabbert has started.
Fantasy Tip: Neither quarterback is worth owning in fantasy unless you're in a two-QB league.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert sacked seven times|
Thu, 06 Oct 2016 21:11:48 -0700
San Francisco 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert completed 18 of his 31 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and was sacked seven times in a 33-21 loss to the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, Oct. 6. He also ran 10 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Tip: Gabbert was running for his life most of the night, but he continued to show he can make plays with his legs. He is quietly on pace for more than 500 rushing yards, and he could be a bye-week starter in two-quarterback leagues.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert remains the starter|
Tue, 27 Sep 2016 06:39:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gabbert has been atrocious as a starter for much of his career, and he warrants no fantasy value for now.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert struggles in Week 3|
Mon, 26 Sep 2016 04:41:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: And the drum beat gets louder. The 49ers have a real problem on their hands. Keep Gabbert as the starter or bench him and go with Colin Kaepernick and the media maelstrom that is sure to follow? Right now, the best thing is to stay away from the Niners' passing game.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert totals three TDs|
Sun, 18 Sep 2016 22:21:11 -0700
San Francisco 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert completed 17 of his 36 pass attempts for 243 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 2 game against the Carolina Panthers. He also rushed three times for 10 yards and a score.
Fantasy Tip: Gabbert isn't a must-start fantasy option just yet, but he has posted reasonable numbers. When bye weeks starts you might want to consider Gabbert as a stopgap option, especially if the matchup is favorable.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert does enough to win|
Mon, 12 Sep 2016 21:06:38 -0700
San Francisco 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert completed 22 of his 35 pass attempts for 170 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. He also ran nine times for 43 yards before giving way to backup QB Colin Kaepernick late in the fourth quarter of a blowout win.
Fantasy Tip: Gabbert didn't look great, and he is a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues for a reason. But his running numbers were a bit of an eye opener and he could be useful down the road if he continues to jell with his receivers.

|49ers | Blaine Gabbert named starter in San Fran|
Sat, 03 Sep 2016 14:55:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Even if there was the competition in the beginning, Kaepernick was rarely ever healthy enough for long enough to make this result a surprise. Given Kelly's offensive tempo, Gabbert's mobility and the amount of time San Francisco figures to be trailing in games this season, the former No. 10 overall pick has a decent shot to return low-end QB2 value in fantasy this season.
