White Sox | Group of ChiSox regulars out for Game 2

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 14:02:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Adam Eaton, SS Alexei Ramirez, OF Melky Cabrera and C Tyler Flowers are all out of the lineup for Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers Monday, Sept. 21. 3B Tyler Saladino is starting at the 6 and hitting second, OF Trayce Thompson is starting in left field and batting cleanup, C Rob Brantly is catching and hitting eighth, and OF Leury Garcia is in center field and batting ninth against Detroit Tigers SP Randy Wolf.

Fantasy Tip: Against the hittable Randy Wolf tonight, several White Sox players are worth stacking on FantasyScore, but only Thompson ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should really excite you of this bunch as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore. Hitting cleanup certainly gives him a better chance to drive in runs, too.

White Sox | Rob Brantly catching Saturday

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 12:15:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox C Rob Brantly will bat sixth against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco Saturday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Brantly ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is just 3-for-16 with a home run and five RBIs since being recalled from the minors earlier this month. Avoid using him in FantasyScore unless you need some cap relief.

White Sox | Tyler Flowers resting again

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 16:41:18 -0700

Chicago White Sox C Tyler Flowers has the day off again Wednesday, Sept. 16. C Rob Brantly is catching and batting seventh against Oakland Athletics SP Cody Martin.

Fantasy Tip: On a day with all games in play, it makes no sense whatsoever to go with Brantly ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) as your starting catcher on FantasyScore, even if you're looking for salary cap relief.

White Sox | Tyler Flowers a no-go against Cleveland

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 14:09:00 -0700

Chicago White Sox C Tyler Flowers (hand) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 8. Rob Brantly is behind the dish and is hitting seventh against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco.

Fantasy Tip: Brantly won't be available on FantasyScore this evening, and he'll be as cheap as they come at the catching position. He only has four at-bats for the ChiSox this year and should always be avoided anytime he's starting.

Marlins | Jarrod Saltalamacchia agrees

Tue, 03 Dec 2013 15:49:27 -0800

The Miami Marlins agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal with free-agent C Jarrod Saltalamacchia (Red Sox).

Fantasy Tip: Salty's power is nice for his position, but the move to Miami will temper some of that thump, and his average is bound to come down from last season's .273 mark. Rob Brantly and Jeff Mathis are still on the roster, too, meaning Mathis could form some sort of platoon with Salty if he continues to struggle against southpaws.

Marlins | Searching for backup catcher

Sun, 24 Feb 2013 11:29:45 -0800

The Miami Marlins are searching for a backup catcher, following an injury to C Jeff Mathis (collarbone) that is expected to sideline him for six weeks. They are open to making a trade or waiting to see who's available after rosters are reduced. C Kyle Skipworth would be the most likely choice to serve as the backup to C Rob Brantly if the Marlins decide to use an internal candidate.
