White Sox | Avisail Garcia working on streak

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 19:58:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts Saturday, June 18, against the Cleveland Indians, but it was good enough to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He is now 11-for-32 (.344) during the impressive run.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia is enjoying one of his best stretches of the season and fantasy owners in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats will want him active. He is also a solid mid-tier play in DFS until he starts to cool off.

White Sox | J.B. Shuck serving as DH

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 14:11:26 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF J.B. Shuck is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth against the Kansas City Royals SP Ian Kennedy Friday, June 10. OF Avisail Garcia is in right field and is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: With Austin Jackson (knee) on the DL, Shuck sees an immediate boost in playing time for the Pale Hose. Shuck has a career .260/.310/.329 slash line with only four home runs in five major league seasons, though, so his fantasy upside is limited, and he may share time with Jason Coats.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia, Jimmy Rollins sitting

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 15:08:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia and SS Jimmy Rollins are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 7. OF J.B. Shuck is serving as the designated hitter and is batting seventh, while SS Tyler Saladino is starting at the 6 and is hitting ninth against Washington Nationals SP Joe Ross.

Fantasy Tip: Both Shuck and Saladino are low-end desperation picks in daily formats while hitting near the bottom of the order. Saladino has been starting more lately over Rollins but is limited offensively with a slash line of .256/.283/.395 and three home runs and 14 RBI.

Sun, 05 Jun 2016 08:46:31 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia and C Alex Avila are back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Sunday, June 5. In addition, OF Jason Coats (face) is back in left field and hitting second, while INF Leury Garcia is batting fifth and playing second base. 2B Brett Lawrie and OF J.B. Shuck are receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Avisail Garcia is batting .265 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 98 at-bats on the road this season and should be viewed as a viable outfield option in most fantasy formats. Leury Garcia and Avila should only be viewed as sources of desperation cap relief in DFS contests.

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 08:22:42 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia is not in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Matt Harvey Monday, May 30, because the team is playing in a National League stadium and does not have a designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia probably will only be used as a pinch hitter during the series against the Mets, so he will not have much value in daily fantasy leagues for a few days.

White Sox | Adam Eaton out again

Fri, 27 May 2016 14:22:17 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Adam Eaton is out for the second straight day against Kansas City Royals left-handed SP Danny Duffy Friday, May 27. OF Austin Jackson moves up to the leadoff spot and OF Jerry Sands is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth. OF Avisail Garcia moves to right field and is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Eaton is getting a chance to rest with the team facing lefties back-to-back days. A-Jax gains notable value hitting leadoff again with a chance to find more opportunities to run and score runs. Sands has pop but is inconsistent at the plate, making him more of a low-end dart throw in DFS. Garcia continues to disappoint his owners with his power potential, and his fantasy upside remains limited hitting low in the order. .

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie hasn't been producing lately and is 2-for-23 (.087) with just one double and 10 strikeouts in his last six games. Both he and Sanchez are options to avoid in DFS action this afternoon.

Sun, 22 May 2016 10:03:17 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura. OF Jerry Sands will start at first base and is batting fifth. SS Jimmy Rollins will serve as the designated hitter, while SS Carlos Sanchez will start at shortstop and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Sands has three hits in his last two games and can be a sleeper option in some fantasy leagues. Sanchez has not recorded great numbers since being recalled and should be avoided in all leagues.
