New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis reminds running backs coach Ivan Fears of former Patriots RB Kevin Faulk. "He's very similar to Kevin. The only limitation that these guys have had is the size factor," Fears said. "Everybody just knocked them because of it. But believe me, they've proven a lot of people wrong." Fears did also say that Lewis still has a lot of work to do.
Fantasy Tip: If Lewis still has a lot of work to do then he'll be in for one heck of a season. Through three games, Lewis has 325 total yards and two touchdowns. He has become a must-start in PPR leagues as he is averaging five catches and 59.6 receiving yards per game.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 16:20:45 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis had eight carries for 37 yards and a touchdown and five catches for 30 yards in a 51-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) took a backseat to LeGarrette Blount ($4,400, 8.8% of cap), but he still salvaged a solid game despite logging 10 fewer carries than Blount. Expect a committee approach going forward, but Lewis should be the more reliable of the two at FantasyScore thanks to his steady role in the passing game.
Mon, 21 Sep 2015 11:37:59 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis had 138 yards from scrimmage in the Patriots' Week 2 win over the Buffalo Bills, which included six catches for 98 yards. Many of Lewis' catches came with him lined up at receiver, and he continued to play notable snaps after fumbling. RB LeGarrette Blount had just two carries in the game.
Fantasy Tip: Don't expect Blount ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) to have that few carries each week, and the running back usage was likely a big result of the matchup against Buffalo, too. Regardless, Lewis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is easily the most dynamic back in the New England backfield and is very useful in point-per-reception leagues. You can't argue with that FantasyScore value on a week-to-week basis, either.
Mon, 21 Sep 2015 05:51:39 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis played 73 of 86 offensive snaps Sunday, Sept. 20, in Week 2. RB LeGarrette Blount played just seven snaps.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) had 40 yards rushing and six catches for 98 yards receiving. Tom Brady threw 59 times, which is the second-highest of his career. Lewis is the top receiving back, which explains why the split was so drastic. Blount ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) could have a chance to shine on FantasyScore against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
Tue, 15 Sep 2015 16:16:20 -0700
New England Patriots RBs LeGarrette Blount and Dion Lewis could form a 50-50 split at running back in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. Blount has scored 14 touchdowns in 12 games since late 2013 and is the team's best goal-line option. He figures to be heavily involved in the backfield moving forward. Lewis has taken over the role as the third-down back but is also capable of playing early downs. When the Patriots have faced stout run defenses like the Bills, they have often given more touches to the change-of-pace running back.
Fantasy Tip: Blount ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is the Pats running back to own in standard leagues, while Lewis' ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) value lies in point-per-reception formats. It'll be interesting to see how the touches play out in Week 2, but a stout Buffalo defensive front could make things even tougher for both Blount and Lewis to put up points for their owners.
Thu, 10 Sep 2015 21:20:34 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis had a team-high 15 carries for 69 yards and caught four passes for 51 yards in a 28-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 Thursday, Sept. 10.
Fantasy Tip: New England's running back rotation is notorious for changing from one week to the next, but it looks like Lewis ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could have a sizeable role. That being said, LeGarrette Blount ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is set to return in Week 2, so Lewis is by no means a lock to have the same workload.
Sun, 23 Aug 2015 15:32:56 -0700
New England Patriots RBs James White and Dion Lewis combined for 12 carries and 45 yards and added six catches for 56 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Considering five of those six catches came from Lewis, that could give him a leg up in the race to replace RB Shane Vereen. Whoever gets this job could see some decent time in the Patriots' running game, so monitor how this goes.
Wed, 05 Aug 2015 18:30:52 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis is in the mix for the race to be the first running back on the field in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis is fighting with RBs Travaris Cadet, Jonas Gray and James White for touches in training camp and the preseason. This is a position battle which is wide open and bears watching once the exhibition schedule gets underway, although it is a competition which could spill into the regular season, too.
Tue, 21 Jul 2015 16:01:41 -0700
New England Patriots RBs James White, Travaris Cadet and Dion Lewis aren't far apart in the battle to take over the pass-catching role vacated by New York Giants RB Shane Vereen, according to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.
Fantasy Tip: This position battle should begin to have a clearer picture once training camp commences. Cadet has more experience, but White and Lewis have the talent to win the position as well. Stay tuned to this situation as training camp progresses.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 14:44:30 -0700
New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis could be the odd man out in the Patriots' backfield, in the opinion of Patriots Football Weekly's Paul Perillo. RBs Tyler Gaffney, Jonas Gray, James White and Travaris Cadet are among the other running backs competing for roster spots. RB LeGarrette Blount seems to be a lock to make the team.

Sat, 28 Jun 2014 14:35:37 -0700
Cleveland Browns RBs Ben Tate, Terrance West and Dion Lewis will be amongst a running back committee, according to head coach Mike Pettine. "I think in the AFC North, you have to be running back by committee," Pettine said. "You'd like to have a guy that can carry most of the load, but also be able to alternate guys... you've got to be able to get fresh legs out there."
Fantasy Tip: Tate should see the lion's share of the workload, but West has vaulted himself into RB3 or RB4 material. He could be leaned on heavily as the season wears on. Lewis doesn't figure into the fantasy equation much unless there's an injury.

So I feel like if I come back and I compete and I'm able to do things I can do, I'll be fine."

Cleveland Browns RB Brandon Jackson is now the team's primary backup to RB Trent Richardson after the loss of both RBs Montario Hardesty (knee) and Dion Lewis (fibula) to the season-ending Injured Reserve list. "Brandon is a reliable guy," head coach Rob Chudzinski said Tuesday, Aug. 27. "I have no issues with Brandon. Trent will be the guy we're counting on in a lot of different ways. We have to do a good job of keeping him fresh throughout the course of the season."

Thu, 15 Aug 2013 18:54:27 -0700
Cleveland Browns RB Dion Lewis (ankle) was carted off the field after suffering a left ankle injury during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis is having a great training camp and was on track to become the No. 2 running back this season, but could miss some time depending on the severity of the injury. Montario Hardesty was also a candidate for the backup RB job, but he is out recovering from knee surgery. Brandon Jackson could become the backup by default depending on Lewis' injury and would be the handcuff to Trent Richardson.
Thu, 15 Aug 2013 16:09:52 -0700
Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty (knee) will miss at least the first two weeks of the regular season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday, Aug. 15. Hardesty has had surgery on both of the anterior cruciate ligaments in both of his knees already. He's missed most of training camp with a hamstring issue and a dislocated right thumb earlier this week. RBs Dion Lewis and Brandon Jackson are competing for the backup spot behind RB Trent Richardson.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis has stood out in camp and should be the favorite to back up Richardson at this point. Target him in the late rounds if you're worried about how Richardson will hold up in his second full season.
Tue, 13 Aug 2013 12:48:30 -0700
Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson (shin) is no longer wearing protective covering on his right shin and said he is 100 percent healthy. His practice workload increased last weekend, but the team hasn't decided if they'll let him play in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15. "In the back of your mind you've got to realize it's preseason and coach is gonna do the best thing for me to put me in the best position to stay healthy for the whole season," he said. "It's good and bad. I feel I can be ready to go Sept. 8 without playing any preseason. I feel I can be ready with playing preseason." RB Dion Lewis has taken most of the first-team reps when Richardson hasn't practiced.
Fantasy Tip: You should have no reservations about selecting Richardson in the middle to end of Round 1 in fantasy football drafts this year. If you're a bit worried about his health, Lewis appears to be the main handcuff option right now.
Fri, 09 Aug 2013 12:56:39 -0700

Thu, 08 Aug 2013 13:13:25 -0700

Tue, 30 Jul 2013 17:08:26 -0700
Cleveland Browns RB Dion Lewis has started working with the second-team offense, and he has turned heads with his speed, moves and catching ability. Lewis has been seeing more work with RB Montario Hardesty (hamstring) sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis could win the No. 2 job if he keeps up his performance, and Hardesty cannot get onto the field. He still will be behind RB Trent Richardson, who will get a majority of the touches. However, if Richardson should suffer some sort of an injury, Lewis could be a nice in-season fantasy sleeper.
Sat, 20 Jul 2013 08:11:28 -0700
Cleveland Browns RBs Dion Lewis and Brandon Jackson may compete for one roster spot during training camp.
Wed, 17 Jul 2013 14:52:17 -0700
Cleveland Browns SS Johnson Bademosi is expected to be the leading candidate for the kick return duties entering training camp. CB Buster Skrine, WR Travis Benjamin and RB Dion Lewis will also be candidates for the role if Bademosi is not able to handle the job.
Tue, 28 May 2013 16:46:46 -0700
Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner's system is throwing a lot of passes to the running back position so far this offseason. RB Trent Richardson caught 51 balls last year, but RBs Dion Lewis and Montario Hardesty have also shown the ability to catch passes.
Fantasy Tip: Watch how the pass distribution and playing time on third downs plays out in the offseason, particularly the preseason. Richardson could see fewer passes come his way in 2013.
Fri, 24 May 2013 14:31:49 -0700

Sun, 19 May 2013 18:31:58 -0700
The Cleveland Browns feel confident WR Travis Benjamin and RB Dion Lewis can handle the return duties, which is why fan favorite WR Joshua Cribbs (Raiders) (knee) was allowed to leave via free agency without much effort to re-sign him. Plus, Cribbs is 30, and there are concerns about his knee.
Sun, 19 May 2013 18:31:05 -0700
The Cleveland Browns like the speed of RB Dion Lewis, especially as a third-down back. Lewis might also be in the mix to return kicks.
Fantasy Tip: As far as fantasy value, Lewis has very little considering he is behind Trent Richardson, Montario Hardesty and Chris Ogbonnaya on the depth chart. If injuries or a trade changes that picture, and Lewis scoots up the chart, he might be worth a look in fantasy football.
