Rodriguez; INF Christian Colon, Anthony Seratelli, Miguel Tejada and Brandon Wood; RPs Blaine Boyer, Sugar Ray Marimon, Michael Mariot, Brian Sanches, Atahualpa Severino, Yordano Ventura, Ryan Verdugo and Dan Wheeler; and OFs Endy Chavez, Luis Durango, Xavier Nady and Willy Taveras to spring training.

Kansas City Royals P Ryan Verdugo and C Adam Moore cleared waivers and were outrighted to Triple-A Omaha Friday, Nov. 30. OF Derrick Robinson cleared waivers but was not tendered a contract, making him a free agent.

Royals | Make roster moves

The Kansas City Royals added Ps John Lamb, Mike Montgomery, Chris Dwyer, Donnie Joseph, Justin Marks and Juan Gutierrez to their 40-man roster Tuesday, Nov. 20, in order to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft. As a result, Ps Vin Mazzaro, Chris Volstad and Ryan Verdugo, Cs Brayan Pena and Adam Moore, 1B Clint Robinson and OF Derrick Robinson were designated for assignment. Backup C Brett Hayes reached a one-year, $600,000 deal Tuesday.

Kansas City Royals SP Ryan Verdugo will be the team's starter against the Seattle Mariners in his major league debut Tuesday, July 17. P Vin Mazzaro, who was also called up Tuesday, will serve as a long reliever. Verdugo went 6-2 with a 3.58 ERA in 18 games (15 starts) with Triple-A Omaha. He has pitched just one inning since July 5.

The Kansas City Royals recalled 1B Clint Robinson from Triple-A Omaha Thursday, June 7, and optioned P Ryan Verdugo to Omaha in a corresponding move. Robinson was hitting .314 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs in 60 games on the farm.

Kansas City Royals SP Luis Mendoza is lined up to pitch against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday, May 18, while P Everett Teaford is slated to go Sunday, May 20. P Ryan Verdugo will be called up for a spot start Sunday if Teaford is needed in relief before then.
