Broncos | DeMarcus Ware, Von Miller proving powerful tandem

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 09:28:39 -0700

Denver Broncos DE DeMarcus Ware and LB Von Miller have been a deadly combination of pass rushers for opposing teams this season. Miller leads the league with eight sacks, and the two have combined for 15 sacks, which is more than 14 teams have so far. Ware predicted in the offseason that the duo would finish with more sacks than at least one team. The Broncos run defense has been stiff of late, and it allows defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio to employ an attacking style. Miller has recorded sacks in five straight games, which is the league's longest active streak and one shy of his career high set in 2012.

This is why I'm here with the Broncos. It feels good to make plays for my teammates," Miller said. "I've got a unique position on the field. Broncos | Von Miller injury update

Thu, 12 Jun 2014 14:01:39 -0700

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee) has looked surprisingly strong during the team's offseason practices. Miller has done a lot of research and reading on ACL surgeries and is modeling his return after Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's. He is participating at full speed in drills, although he still isn't playing 11-on-11 plays. Miller will be examined in a few weeks by Dr. James Andrews and hopes to be cleared for limited contact by the first or second week of training camp. He expects to be ready for Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: A healthy Miller's sack upside makes him a vaulable IDP target and he is a key component to the Broncos' DT, which is in low-end-starter territory.

Broncos | Von Miller has matured

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 09:05:02 -0800

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said LB Von Miller grew up a lot this past year while dealing with a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy and then suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in December. "He's done a tremendous job of doing the right things and everything he's supposed to be doing. So hopefully he can continue to do that, because we'd love Von to be back to the Von we know he can be," Elway said.

Fantasy Tip: With a full offseason to recover from his torn ACL, Miller should be ready for the start of the 2014 season, although he may be a little slow out of the gates. A full season of Miller should help Denver's pass rush up front.

LB Nate Irving played in Miller's spot after he was injured, but DE Robert Ayers also saw action opposite DE Shaun Phillips.

Broncos | Von Miller suspended

Tue, 20 Aug 2013 13:55:43 -0700

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos LB Von Miller was suspended six games for violating the league's substance-abuse program.

Fantasy Tip: This will severely impact Miller's draft stock in leagues that involve individual defensive players (IDP). It also makes Denver's defense much less appealing, at least for the early season. Their overall defense should be considered a weak No. 1 DT, with the possibility of leaving many hoping for more.
