Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Kendall Hunter (knee) tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the Friday, July 25, practice, according to a source. Hunter will subsequently miss the entire 2014 season.
Fantasy Tip: It's a good blow to the team's backfield as Hunter was their backup behind RB Frank Gore. Now RB Carlos Hyde could receiver some additional playing time with RB LaMichael James also in the mix.

San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James (knee) will be inactive for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. He's dealing with a sprained medial collateral ligament and is expected to miss up to three weeks. RB Frank Gore will start with RB Kendall Hunter behind him. San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James (knee) will not need surgery to repair a partially torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee. However, he will be unavailable to return punts or kickoffs dor at least the first three or four regular season games. Last season, he was not active when both RBs Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter were active, so James might not even dress for the first month or so.
