NFL | Titus Young no-shows again

Tue, 02 Jul 2013 15:06:19 -0700

Free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams) didn't show up for his second straight court appearance but was given an excused absence from a judge in Newport Beach, Calif. Young's lawyer, Altus W. Hudson II, says that Young hasn't appeared for his hearings in the 11-count criminal case against him because he's still undergoing treatment for concussions related to his NFL days.

Fantasy Tip: With the increasing amount of headaches both physically and legally surrounding Young, he's unlikely to be given the chance to offer fantasy value in 2013.

"A lot of people laugh about it and ke-ke-ke about it, but it's real. He has head issues, and the Titus Young when he came in as a rookie and the Titus Young now is two different people. It's kind of like when you look at him, he's looking through you. It's different. You can tell there's something going on in his mind, in his head, and I hope that he can get help." "We spent that time with him, we spent probably four or five days with him, and as an organization, at the end of the interview process, you might call it, we felt it was best to go in another direction."

Rams | Could Titus Young be a slot WR?

Wed, 06 Feb 2013 06:22:26 -0800

The St. Louis Rams may have claimed WR Titus Young off waivers as insurance should the team be unable to re-sign impending free-agent WR Danny Amendola. "I don't think it affects Danny one bit," Amendola's agent, Erik Burkhardt, said. "Titus Young isn't anywhere in the same ZIP code as Danny as far as a player goes. I'm sure Young may disagree with that because he thinks he's better than Calvin Johnson." The Rams, however, are desperate for help at the wide receiver position. They don't have a ton of salary cap money to pursue a high-priced wideout in free agency.

Rams | Claim Titus Young

Tue, 05 Feb 2013 13:41:38 -0800

The St. Louis Rams claimed WR Titus Young (Lions) Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Young undoubtedly has talent, but maturity issues seemed to get in the way of him reaching his full potential while a member of the Detroit Lions. Some reports suggest all Young needs is to become more involved in the offensive game plan and he'll shape up.

The Rams have to make a decision on re-signing one or both of Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson, as they are unrestricted free agents once the new league year begins. It seems logical that Amendola returns to the team, and Young is given a chance to start out wide, opposite Chris Givens. It is too early to give a definitive fantasy value for Young, but he has the potential to build chemistry with Sam Bradford and emerge as a strong No. 3 fantasy receiver, if not a WR2 some weeks.

Lions | IR stint could be good for Titus Young

Thu, 06 Dec 2012 06:52:09 -0800

Aside from lining up incorrectly, running wrong routes, arguing with coaches and sulking during games, Young was also frequently late for meetings. Things were getting tense in the locker room between Young and the leaders of the team. "I haven't talked to Titus and I haven't talked to the coaches about specifically what's going on with him. You just hope that a young talent like this gets a chance to show his ability, because this league is the N.F.L. - Not For Long," Burleson said. "If you don't take advantage of opportunities, sometimes it's tough to get chances."
