Titans | DeMarco Murray involved in passing game

Tue, 20 Sep 2016 14:06:17 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has been targeted 14 times through the air this season, resulting 12 catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He ranks in the top five among running backs in targets (T-1st), catches (T-2nd), yards (5th) and touchdowns (1st).

Fantasy Tip: Murray has lost some carries to rookie Derrick Henry, but he's more than making up for it in the passing game. Continue to start Murray as an RB1 in all formats despite Henry stealing touches, especially in a nice matchup versus the Oakland Raiders this week.

Titans | DeMarco Murray racks up yardage

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 13:45:00 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran 12 times for 89 yards, including a long of 67, against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 18. He did not score a touchdown in Week 2 but managed to add seven receptions for 56 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was productive for PPR owners, posting 21.5 points on the day. His Week 3 meeting with the Oakland Raiders may be even more fruitful. He's no worse than an RB2 in all conventional game formats.

Titans | DeMarco Murray makes presence felt

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 21:43:44 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed six times for 93 yards in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 13, against the San Diego Chargers. The highlight of his night was a 71-yard touchdown scamper.

Fantasy Tip: Murray and Derrick Henry are going to make quite the one-two punch in Nashville this season. Murray is a solid RB2 in all fantasy formats heading into 2016.

Titans | DeMarco Murray likely to run often

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 06:58:17 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray is expected to be the team's workhorse in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: He'll have talent behind him with Derrick Henry, Antonio Andrews and Bishop Sankey. However, everything that we're hearing is that Murray will be the downfield runner utilized like he was in his breakout 2014 season. That season's heavy usage and his shaky history before that leave questions that peg him into the high-end RB2 mix. Henry could be used in short-yardage situations, and he's an RB5 flyer. The other two are fringe RB5 options.

Titans | RB coach impressed with DeMarco Murray

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 14:16:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has impressed running backs coach Sylvester Croom with his work ethic and his abilities on the field.

Fantasy Tip: Murray will receive most of the carries this season but will lose some work to Derrick Henry. He should be a No. 2 running back for fantasy owners as long as he receives a majority of the touches in the running game.

Titans | Antonio Andrews stepping up

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 20:53:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: With Murray and Henry now in town, Andrews is going to have to fight for a roster spot, and he has little chance of making a fantasy impact.

Titans | DeMarco Murray in better situation

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 16:32:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray believes Tennessee's offensive system is a better fit for him than the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. "It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life," Murray said. "Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season."

Fantasy Tip: Murray will be the primary running back for the Titans, but Derrick Henry should also get a good chunk of playing time behind him, not to mention the other young bucks in the backfield. Murray is still a viable RB2 option, while Henry is more of a low-end RB3 to high-end RB4 in his rookie year.

Titans | Tennessee may use hot hand at RB

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:23:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game. "I believe in just doing whatever we have to do, whatever is necessary to win the game," Robiskie said. "Obviously we'll have it situated going into the game, and figuring, 'Hey, we want to go this way or go that way.' If we get to going in the game and some guy gets the hot hand and that's what it takes to win the game then that is what we are going to do."

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will receive most of the carries this season, but Henry should also see a fair amount of work. Murray should be a weekly starting option in most leagues in 2016 and likely will be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts. Henry probably will be a late-round option in most leagues and could be used against favorable matchups.

Titans | DeMarco Murray looks explosive

Thu, 26 May 2016 10:43:22 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has received praise from both head coach Mike Mularkey and QB Marcus Mariota during organized team activities this week. "I certainly liked some of the cuts I saw," Mularkey said. "Even without pads on, those were cuts he wasn't going to get touched on. It was going to be an explosive run. You can tell when a play is going to work and not work."

Fantasy Tip: The Titans improved offensive line is good news for Murray, but the surprising addition of talented runner Derrick Henry in the draft hurt Murray's fantasy stock as an RB1 entering the 2016 season. Both power runners should provide a formidable tandem in this backfield, but temper expectations a bit for Murray as more of a midrange RB2 now.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still the lead back

Sun, 01 May 2016 16:16:42 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will still carry the load despite the addition of RB Derrick Henry, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Mularkey said he called Murray after the Henry selection to assure him that his role wasn't going to change.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Mularkey's reassurance, it is hard to believe Henry won't steal some carries from Murray. You can still draft Murray as a RB2, but he could lose some goal-line carries to the bruising rookie.
