Titans | Antonio Andrews stepping up

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 20:53:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: With Murray and Henry now in town, Andrews is going to have to fight for a roster spot, and he has little chance of making a fantasy impact.

Titans | DeMarco Murray in better situation

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 16:32:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray believes Tennessee's offensive system is a better fit for him than the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. "It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life," Murray said. "Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season."

Fantasy Tip: Murray will be the primary running back for the Titans, but Derrick Henry should also get a good chunk of playing time behind him, not to mention the other young bucks in the backfield. Murray is still a viable RB2 option, while Henry is more of a low-end RB3 to high-end RB4 in his rookie year.

Titans | Tennessee may use hot hand at RB

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:23:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game. "I believe in just doing whatever we have to do, whatever is necessary to win the game," Robiskie said. "Obviously we'll have it situated going into the game, and figuring, 'Hey, we want to go this way or go that way.' If we get to going in the game and some guy gets the hot hand and that's what it takes to win the game then that is what we are going to do."

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will receive most of the carries this season, but Henry should also see a fair amount of work. Murray should be a weekly starting option in most leagues in 2016 and likely will be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts. Henry probably will be a late-round option in most leagues and could be used against favorable matchups.

Titans | DeMarco Murray looks explosive

Thu, 26 May 2016 10:43:22 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has received praise from both head coach Mike Mularkey and QB Marcus Mariota during organized team activities this week. "I certainly liked some of the cuts I saw," Mularkey said. "Even without pads on, those were cuts he wasn't going to get touched on. It was going to be an explosive run. You can tell when a play is going to work and not work."

Fantasy Tip: The Titans improved offensive line is good news for Murray, but the surprising addition of talented runner Derrick Henry in the draft hurt Murray's fantasy stock as an RB1 entering the 2016 season. Both power runners should provide a formidable tandem in this backfield, but temper expectations a bit for Murray as more of a midrange RB2 now.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still the lead back

Sun, 01 May 2016 16:16:42 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will still carry the load despite the addition of RB Derrick Henry, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Mularkey said he called Murray after the Henry selection to assure him that his role wasn't going to change.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Mularkey's reassurance, it is hard to believe Henry won't steal some carries from Murray. You can still draft Murray as a RB2, but he could lose some goal-line carries to the bruising rookie.

Titans | Derrick Henry viewed as other workhorse

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 17:49:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry could be a second workhouse running back for the Titans in addition to RB DeMarco Murray, according to general manager Jon Robinson. Robinson hopes there will be enough carries for both to be workhorses and help shorten the game.

Fantasy Tip: This has been one of the more intriguing picks in the second round thus far with the Titans trading for Murray in the offseason. Murray will still serve as the main running back, but Henry could play the role of vulture now. Murray's fantasy value obviously takes a hit here, but he should still be viewed as an RB2, while Henry has RB4 upside.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to carry the load?

Sat, 12 Mar 2016 17:41:02 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray was acquired in part because of his every-down ability, and he will carry the load in the running game in 2016, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt.

Fantasy Tip: Look for Murray to bounce back in 2016 in a system that better suits his running style. Draft him as a high-end RB2.

Titans | DeMarco Murray motivated with Titans

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 14:47:44 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray said he's 100% motivated in Tennessee, adding that he is fresh after he felt like he took last season off. "I look forward to competing every day and getting back on track and running the ball the way I know I can," Murray said.

Fantasy Tip: Murray and the Titans seem like a misfit match at first on paper, but he'll be their primary running back ahead of the likes of Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey, David Cobb and Dexter McCluster. He won't put up the numbers he did in 2014 in Dallas, but he's still in the low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 conversation.

Titans | DeMarco Murray as I-back more often

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 08:15:31 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will line up in I-formation more often than shotgun formations, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: This will work to Murray's strengths whereas the misdirection and stretch plays in Philadelphia worked against his strengths. Murray is a low-end RB1 in fantasy.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray deal includes pick swap

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 08:48:28 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is headed to the Tennessee Titans, and the two teams are swapping fourth-round picks, according to sources. The Eagles would move atop the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Murray is a low-end RB1 consideration in Tennessee.
