Titans | Derrick Henry viewed as other workhorse

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 17:49:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry could be a second workhouse running back for the Titans in addition to RB DeMarco Murray, according to general manager Jon Robinson. Robinson hopes there will be enough carries for both to be workhorses and help shorten the game.

Fantasy Tip: This has been one of the more intriguing picks in the second round thus far with the Titans trading for Murray in the offseason. Murray will still serve as the main running back, but Henry could play the role of vulture now. Murray's fantasy value obviously takes a hit here, but he should still be viewed as an RB2, while Henry has RB4 upside.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to carry the load?

Sat, 12 Mar 2016 17:41:02 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray was acquired in part because of his every-down ability, and he will carry the load in the running game in 2016, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt.

Fantasy Tip: Look for Murray to bounce back in 2016 in a system that better suits his running style. Draft him as a high-end RB2.

Titans | DeMarco Murray motivated with Titans

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 14:47:44 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray said he's 100% motivated in Tennessee, adding that he is fresh after he felt like he took last season off. "I look forward to competing every day and getting back on track and running the ball the way I know I can," Murray said.

Fantasy Tip: Murray and the Titans seem like a misfit match at first on paper, but he'll be their primary running back ahead of the likes of Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey, David Cobb and Dexter McCluster. He won't put up the numbers he did in 2014 in Dallas, but he's still in the low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 conversation.

Titans | DeMarco Murray as I-back more often

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 08:15:31 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will line up in I-formation more often than shotgun formations, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: This will work to Murray's strengths whereas the misdirection and stretch plays in Philadelphia worked against his strengths. Murray is a low-end RB1 in fantasy.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray deal includes pick swap

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 08:48:28 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is headed to the Tennessee Titans, and the two teams are swapping fourth-round picks, according to sources. The Eagles would move atop the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Murray is a low-end RB1 consideration in Tennessee.

Titans | New deal for DeMarco Murray

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 21:37:17 -0800

The Tennessee Titans and RB DeMarco Murray have revised his contract with his looming trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the revised four-year deal has a base value of $25.5 million, with $12.5 million guaranteed. In 2016, $6 million is fully guaranteed, with $3 million fully guaranteed in 2017. Incentives could push the deal to a maximum value of $33 million.

Fantasy Tip: Murray is looking for a bounce back in Nashville, and it will be interesting to see how he does after a disastrous season in Chip Kelly's offense in Philly. Murray will be more ground and pound again in a system which appears to be better suited to his game. Fantasy owners bitten by him last season might shy away, but he could be Top 5 at his position again if he stays healthy.

Titans | DeMarco Murray deal nearly done

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 09:38:56 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is expected to be traded to the Tennessee Titans when the new league year begins Wednesday, March 9.

Murray, who will land the Eagles draft-pick compensation, restructured his contract to facilitate the move. The Eagles granted Murray permission to seek a trade partner, and he sought out the Titans, which he thought was a good fit. His agents have confirmed the pending move on Twitter.

Fantasy Tip: Murray vastly disappointed fantasy owners last season, and the move to Tennessee should benefit his owners quite a bit. However, it's a stretch to expect him to return to his 2014 form when he led the league in rushing behind arguably the best offensive line in football with Dallas. Murray will likely be a low-end RB1.

Eagles | Philly close to moving DeMarco Murray

Mon, 07 Mar 2016 16:19:37 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is close to being traded to the Tennessee Titans, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are the main running backs on the Eagles roster at this point, but the team could add another one in free agency or the draft. Mathews played well when he was healthy this season and could be a No. 2 running back if he is the starter in 2016.

Titans | Tennessee looking to add DeMarco Murray

Mon, 07 Mar 2016 16:17:51 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is close to being acquired by the Tennessee Titans, according to sources. The trade is expected to be completed Wednesday, March 9.

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will be the starting running back for the Titans and receive a majority of the carries. Murray struggled this season with the Eagles but could play better with the Titans. Owners should consider Murray as a No. 2 running back next season if the trade is completed.

Eagles | Two Philly running backs available

Mon, 07 Mar 2016 11:52:42 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews is also available via trade, for the right price, in addition to RB DeMarco Murray.

Fantasy Tip: Murray's displeasure and lack of production with the Eagles have been well chronicled, but Mathews' availability is kind of a surprise. There is a new regime in town now, though, and they may want to start over, except for Sam Bradford of course. Darren Sproles may stay, too, and should be viewed as a low-end RB2 in PPR leagues.
