Titans | DeMarco Murray quiet in victory

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 16:59:44 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) rushed 17 times for 43 yards in the Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears. He added five receptions for 41 yards on his five targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray entered with a toe injury, and perhaps he was bothered by the issue. His rushing yardage total was his lowest since Week 1 against Minnesota. He remains a must-start fantasy option in Week 14, as the bye in Week 13 should help him rest his bumps and bruises.

Titans | DeMarco Murray ready to play

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 17:39:19 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Murray saw his five-game touchdown streak snapped last week but was still able to rush for 70 yards. He probably will receive most of the work at running back and should be a No. 1 running back in fantasy leagues.

Titans | No practice for DeMarco Murray

Wed, 23 Nov 2016 14:22:41 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was hampered with his foot injury last week too, but he still turned in 79 total yards and a touchdown. The Chicago Bears have defended the run really well this year, but Murray is practically matchup proof this season and the Bears are missing one of their best run stoppers in Jerrell Freeman. Start Murray as an RB1 like you normally would.

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 17:26:00 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Titans | DeMarco Murray practices in full

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 15:29:59 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: After sitting out practice Wednesday, this should ensure the former Dallas Cowboy suits up in a very salivating Week 11 matchup versus the Colts, who sport one of the league's worst defenses. Regardless, Murray is a RB1 opposite any opponent, and will enter Sunday on an impressive streak of having scored a touchdown in five straight contests.

Titans | No practice for DeMarco Murray

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 16:04:14 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Murray should have a decent chance to play in Week 11 despite the injury, but owners should check on his practice participation over the next few days to make sure of his status. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in three of the last four games and has a touchdown in each of his last five games. He should be considered a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues.

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 10:15:10 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray's first carry of Week 10 vs. the Green Bay Packers was a 75-yard touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: So much for the top-rated defense against running backs ... It's largely a fake rating based on weak rushing attacked faced.

Titans | DeMarco Murray gets in full practice

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 13:12:04 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) was a full participant at practice Friday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: After not practicing on Tuesday and getting in a limited session on Wednesday, Murray should put his owners at ease after getting in this full practice. In other words, he should have no issues suiting up on Sunday against the Packers, and as usual, he'll be an RB1 in that matchup.

Titans | DeMarco Murray limited Thursday

Thu, 10 Nov 2016 14:56:18 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) put in a limited practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Murray looks to be on track to gut it out this week, but he has a tough matchup against one of the better run defenses in the Green Bay Packers. Still, Murray's volume will be substantial if he's healthy enough for it to be. View him as an RB1.

Titans | DeMarco Murray sits out

Wed, 09 Nov 2016 15:32:02 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Murray should be able to play this week, but owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He has run for a touchdown in each of his last four games and has at least 20 carries in five of their last six games. He will have a tough matchup this week but can still be a solid No. 2 running back.

Titans | DeMarco Murray set for challenge

Mon, 07 Nov 2016 20:18:13 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. The Packers rank No. 1 in the NFL in rushing defense, giving up just 75.8 yards per game with four touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Murray has a tough game on deck, but he has re-emerged as a must-start fantasy option in all formats this season, especially PPR leagues. He could rack up considerable yardage out of the backfield against a poor Packers pass D.

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 22:47:28 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 14 times for 51 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the San Diego Chargers and he added seven receptions for 29 yards on his seven targets.

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 06:05:03 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) is expected to play in Week 9's game against the San Diego Chargers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was not listed on the injury report and was a full participant in the team's final two practices during the week. He's worth starting in all fantasy formats due to the favorable matchup, even though Derrick Henry is also expected to see a decent amount of playing time.

Titans | DeMarco Murray practices in full again

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 11:05:43 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) practiced without limitations Friday, Nov. 4, and is expected to play Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: The Titans might choose to give rookie Derrick Henry a bit more work this weekend, but the overall RB2 should be in line for another 20 touches in what should be one of the more favorable matchups he is going to see all season.

Titans | DeMarco Murray a full participant

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 15:09:16 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Your worries can be set aside. Murray is one of the better starts of the week as far as running backs are concerned. The San Diego Chargers are quite accommodating to backs this year, giving up 12 total touchdowns to the position through eight games. Murray is a top-tier RB1 for Week 9, even with Derrick Henry looming to steal touches.

Titans | Derrick Henry ready for more

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 19:02:48 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry will likely see a bigger workload against the San Diego Chargers in Week 9 if RB DeMarco Murray's (toe) toe injury flares up.

Fantasy Tip: Henry showcased his upside in an expanded role in Week 8, but banking on Murray being limited is a risky proposition. Henry is a roll-of-the-dice flex play unless Murray's toe takes a turn for the worse in the coming days.

Titans | DeMarco Murray limited

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 15:16:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Murray probably will be able to play in Week 9, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in three of the last four games and has scored a touchdown in each of the last three games. Murray should be a starting running back in all leagues if he is active for the game.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to be 'monitored'

Mon, 31 Oct 2016 12:30:05 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) will be monitored throughout the week despite getting a favorable MRI result on the toe injury he suffered in a Week 8 win versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters he will issue a further update on Murray's status Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: For now, owners don't appear to have anything to worry about, although it does seem like the Titans are being very cautious about injury that otherwise seems to be a non-issue. Then again, nothing should be taken for granted with a running back with such an extensive injury history. Rookie Derrick Henry would be the next man up if Murray has to sit and would immediately enter the RB1 conversation in fantasy in such a scenario.

Titans | DeMarco Murray day-to-day

Sat, 29 Oct 2016 13:03:53 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) is considered day-to-day after the MRI on his injured toe did not show any structural damage, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to see if Murray will be able to participate in practice next week before deciding on their Week 9 lineups. Murray has been receiving most of the carries this season and should be a starting option in all leagues if he is healthy.

Titans | DeMarco Murray undergoing MRI

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 11:48:12 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (toe) is awaiting the results of an MRI on the toe injury that caused him to miss the last two minutes of the first half in a Week 8 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Head coach Mike Mularkey indicated he doesn't believe the injury is serious and Murray returned in the second half, so there doesn't appear to be any cause for alarm yet. Toe injuries can be tricky, however, so Murray owners aren't quite out of the woods yet. Derrick Henry is the next man up and could be a second-half stud for owners should the Titans' optimism turn out to be unfounded.

Thu, 27 Oct 2016 18:55:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (leg) went to the locker room before the half against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Murray appeared to tweak something after a long run but walked to the locker room under his own power. Derrick Henry would vault into the RB2 conversation if Murray misses time. Stay tuned for updates.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (non-injury) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Murray should receive his normal workload against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. He has carried the ball at least 20 times in each of the last four games and has five touchdowns in the last five games. He should be a fine starting running back in all fantasy leagues.

Titans | DeMarco Murray limited Tuesday

Tue, 25 Oct 2016 16:20:52 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (non-injury) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: The reason for Murray's limited status was not disclosed, so keep an eye on his status over the next two days. If it's nothing serious then Murray remains an RB1 as one of the most consistent running backs of the 2016 season.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray had 107 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries Sunday, Oct. 23, in a 34-26 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 27 times for 121 yards but did not score Sunday, Oct. 9, in a 30-14 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: At about 4.5 yards per carry, Murray's day was fairly solid. He didn't score a touchdown, but Murray has proven effective enough to put him in the lineup from week to week.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 25 times for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 4 game against the Houston Texans. He also added two receptions for 24 yards on his two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray had 27 touches to just two for rookie Derrick Henry, as there should be very little question on who the top dog in Nashville is going forward. Murray remains a bona fide WR1 in all fantasy leagues.

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 11:43:21 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in the first half against the Houston Texans in Week 4.

Titans | DeMarco Murray involved in passing game

Tue, 20 Sep 2016 14:06:17 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has been targeted 14 times through the air this season, resulting 12 catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He ranks in the top five among running backs in targets (T-1st), catches (T-2nd), yards (5th) and touchdowns (1st).

Fantasy Tip: Murray has lost some carries to rookie Derrick Henry, but he's more than making up for it in the passing game. Continue to start Murray as an RB1 in all formats despite Henry stealing touches, especially in a nice matchup versus the Oakland Raiders this week.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran 12 times for 89 yards, including a long of 67, against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 18. He did not score a touchdown in Week 2 but managed to add seven receptions for 56 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was productive for PPR owners, posting 21.5 points on the day. His Week 3 meeting with the Oakland Raiders may be even more fruitful. He's no worse than an RB2 in all conventional game formats.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed six times for 93 yards in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 13, against the San Diego Chargers. The highlight of his night was a 71-yard touchdown scamper.

Titans | DeMarco Murray likely to run often

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 06:58:17 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray is expected to be the team's workhorse in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: He'll have talent behind him with Derrick Henry, Antonio Andrews and Bishop Sankey. However, everything that we're hearing is that Murray will be the downfield runner utilized like he was in his breakout 2014 season. That season's heavy usage and his shaky history before that leave questions that peg him into the high-end RB2 mix. Henry could be used in short-yardage situations, and he's an RB5 flyer. The other two are fringe RB5 options.

Titans | RB coach impressed with DeMarco Murray

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 14:16:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has impressed running backs coach Sylvester Croom with his work ethic and his abilities on the field.

Fantasy Tip: Murray will receive most of the carries this season but will lose some work to Derrick Henry. He should be a No. 2 running back for fantasy owners as long as he receives a majority of the touches in the running game.

Titans | Antonio Andrews stepping up

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 20:53:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: With Murray and Henry now in town, Andrews is going to have to fight for a roster spot, and he has little chance of making a fantasy impact.

Titans | DeMarco Murray in better situation

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 16:32:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray believes Tennessee's offensive system is a better fit for him than the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. "It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life," Murray said. "Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season."

Fantasy Tip: Murray will be the primary running back for the Titans, but Derrick Henry should also get a good chunk of playing time behind him, not to mention the other young bucks in the backfield. Murray is still a viable RB2 option, while Henry is more of a low-end RB3 to high-end RB4 in his rookie year.

Titans | Tennessee may use hot hand at RB

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:23:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game. "I believe in just doing whatever we have to do, whatever is necessary to win the game," Robiskie said. "Obviously we'll have it situated going into the game, and figuring, 'Hey, we want to go this way or go that way.' If we get to going in the game and some guy gets the hot hand and that's what it takes to win the game then that is what we are going to do."

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will receive most of the carries this season, but Henry should also see a fair amount of work. Murray should be a weekly starting option in most leagues in 2016 and likely will be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts. Henry probably will be a late-round option in most leagues and could be used against favorable matchups.

Titans | DeMarco Murray looks explosive

Thu, 26 May 2016 10:43:22 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has received praise from both head coach Mike Mularkey and QB Marcus Mariota during organized team activities this week. "I certainly liked some of the cuts I saw," Mularkey said. "Even without pads on, those were cuts he wasn't going to get touched on. It was going to be an explosive run. You can tell when a play is going to work and not work."

Fantasy Tip: The Titans improved offensive line is good news for Murray, but the surprising addition of talented runner Derrick Henry in the draft hurt Murray's fantasy stock as an RB1 entering the 2016 season. Both power runners should provide a formidable tandem in this backfield, but temper expectations a bit for Murray as more of a midrange RB2 now.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still the lead back

Sun, 01 May 2016 16:16:42 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will still carry the load despite the addition of RB Derrick Henry, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Mularkey said he called Murray after the Henry selection to assure him that his role wasn't going to change.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Mularkey's reassurance, it is hard to believe Henry won't steal some carries from Murray. You can still draft Murray as a RB2, but he could lose some goal-line carries to the bruising rookie.

Titans | Derrick Henry viewed as other workhorse

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 17:49:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry could be a second workhouse running back for the Titans in addition to RB DeMarco Murray, according to general manager Jon Robinson. Robinson hopes there will be enough carries for both to be workhorses and help shorten the game.

Fantasy Tip: This has been one of the more intriguing picks in the second round thus far with the Titans trading for Murray in the offseason. Murray will still serve as the main running back, but Henry could play the role of vulture now. Murray's fantasy value obviously takes a hit here, but he should still be viewed as an RB2, while Henry has RB4 upside.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to carry the load?

Sat, 12 Mar 2016 17:41:02 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray was acquired in part because of his every-down ability, and he will carry the load in the running game in 2016, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt.

Fantasy Tip: Look for Murray to bounce back in 2016 in a system that better suits his running style. Draft him as a high-end RB2.

Titans | DeMarco Murray motivated with Titans

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 14:47:44 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray said he's 100% motivated in Tennessee, adding that he is fresh after he felt like he took last season off. "I look forward to competing every day and getting back on track and running the ball the way I know I can," Murray said.

Fantasy Tip: Murray and the Titans seem like a misfit match at first on paper, but he'll be their primary running back ahead of the likes of Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey, David Cobb and Dexter McCluster. He won't put up the numbers he did in 2014 in Dallas, but he's still in the low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 conversation.

Titans | DeMarco Murray as I-back more often

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 08:15:31 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will line up in I-formation more often than shotgun formations, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: This will work to Murray's strengths whereas the misdirection and stretch plays in Philadelphia worked against his strengths. Murray is a low-end RB1 in fantasy.

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 08:48:28 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is headed to the Tennessee Titans, and the two teams are swapping fourth-round picks, according to sources. The Eagles would move atop the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Titans | New deal for DeMarco Murray

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 21:37:17 -0800

The Tennessee Titans and RB DeMarco Murray have revised his contract with his looming trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the revised four-year deal has a base value of $25.5 million, with $12.5 million guaranteed. In 2016, $6 million is fully guaranteed, with $3 million fully guaranteed in 2017. Incentives could push the deal to a maximum value of $33 million.

Fantasy Tip: Murray is looking for a bounce back in Nashville, and it will be interesting to see how he does after a disastrous season in Chip Kelly's offense in Philly. Murray will be more ground and pound again in a system which appears to be better suited to his game. Fantasy owners bitten by him last season might shy away, but he could be Top 5 at his position again if he stays healthy.

Titans | DeMarco Murray deal nearly done

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 09:38:56 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is expected to be traded to the Tennessee Titans when the new league year begins Wednesday, March 9.

Murray, who will land the Eagles draft-pick compensation, restructured his contract to facilitate the move. The Eagles granted Murray permission to seek a trade partner, and he sought out the Titans, which he thought was a good fit. His agents have confirmed the pending move on Twitter.

Fantasy Tip: Murray vastly disappointed fantasy owners last season, and the move to Tennessee should benefit his owners quite a bit. However, it's a stretch to expect him to return to his 2014 form when he led the league in rushing behind arguably the best offensive line in football with Dallas. Murray will likely be a low-end RB1.

Mon, 07 Mar 2016 16:19:37 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is close to being traded to the Tennessee Titans, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are the main running backs on the Eagles roster at this point, but the team could add another one in free agency or the draft. Mathews played well when he was healthy this season and could be a No. 2 running back if he is the starter in 2016.
