Eagles | DeMarco Murray unlikely to be cut

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 09:45:59 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is guaranteed $7 million in 2016, and the Eagles would take a $13 million salary cap hit if they were to release him before June 1, which makes Murray unlikely to be cut. Murray would likely have to take a pay cut to be traded.

Fantasy Tip: A tumultuous season in 2015 under Chip Kelly made Murray a huge first-round fantasy disappointment. He's likely to share touches with Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles again, so don't expect anything more than low-end RB2 numbers under a new coaching staff, to boot.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray committed to Eagles

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 16:48:06 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray said he is committed to the Eagles despite rumors that there may be dissension between Murray and Philadelphia and despite a tweet by Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant telling Murray to return to the Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Much can be made of nothing when it comes to the NFL offseason, and perhaps this is one of those cases. If Murray does indeed stay with the Eagles, he'll still be splitting touches with Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles, but he could also see more success under new head coach Doug Pederson and in a less complicated offensive system.

Seahawks | DeMarco Murray not a fit for Seattle?

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 16:39:18 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray drew interest from the Seattle Seahawks last offseason before he signed with the Eagles. He could be pursued by them again this offseason if he does not return to Philadelphia. That move may not make much sense for Seattle, though, according to Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.com. Kapadia believes RB Thomas Rawls is still the answer for Seattle's future backfield even if Murray is available.

Fantasy Tip: It's no guarantee that Murray won't be back with the Eagles next season, but it's looking more unlikely as the offseason unfolds. Ryan Mathews is a capable replacement if Murray is gone, while Darren Sproles would continue to serve as the Eagles' passing down running back.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant wants DeMarco Murray back

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 15:51:52 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray may not return to the Philadelphia Eagles next season, and Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has already started recruiting Murray back to Dallas. The Cowboys are one of the teams included among those who might be interested in signing Murray.

Fantasy Tip: There's still a lot to play out for Murray and the Eagles before next season. The Cowboys, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks are three teams that were interested in him last year. A reunion with Dallas might make sense, but Darren McFadden is coming off a surprisingly productive season. Don't look too much into Murray's fantasy value until there's a clearer picture of his status in Philadelphia.

Eagles | Three teams eyeing DeMarco Murray?

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 14:35:36 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray could be courted by the Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders or Dallas Cowboys if he does not return to the Eagles next season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Those three teams were interested in Murray last offseason before he signed with the Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was a big disappointment in his first season with the Eagles last year. Philadelphia has more than a capable backfield aside from Murray in Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles. It's too early to say what Murray's fantasy value will be in 2016, but it's looking more and more likely that he won't be an Eagle.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray on the outs in Philly?

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 09:57:14 -0800

The Philadelphia Eagles and RB DeMarco Murray appear to be at odds regarding his future with the organization. The division is based on Murray's disappointing 2015 season, the team's conviction he is the long-term answer at running back and the huge five-year, $40 million contract he signed last offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ran for only 702 yards and six touchdowns last season, which obviously isn't a good return for a player averaging $8 million a year. The Eagles have a very capable reserve in Ryan Mathews, so rookie head coach Doug Pederson and the new front office could decide to part ways with Murray this offseason. If Murray remains in Philly, his fantasy ceiling will likely be as a low-end RB2 sharing carries with Mathews.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews to get FB

Sat, 23 Jan 2016 15:55:31 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RBs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews are expected to have company in the backfield in 2016, as head coach Doug Pederson has liked to have a fullback on the roster and use him to block in the running game.

Fantasy Tip: Murray might especially benefit from a more power running game attack, similar to his last years in Dallas. He could be a big-time fantasy sleeper, as some stay away from him from a lack of production in 2015 under the old regime. Mathews will once again be a solid handcuff and mid- to late-round fantasy pick if and when Murray goes down.

Eagles | Long touchdown run for DeMarco Murray

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 18:12:57 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray had 12 carries for 69 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown run on his first carry, in a 35-30 win over the New York Giants in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was one of the biggest fantasy busts this season, and while a coaching change this offseason could help his value, it is still risky to expect him to be a starting-caliber back on a weekly basis next year.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray likely to stick around

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 10:32:35 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is likely to stay in Philadelphia after the team fired head coach Chip Kelly, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) was a huge fantasy bust this year and wasn't the right fit for Kelly's offensive scheme. As long as Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are around, though, Murray's fantasy upside is limited. However, heading into 2016 under a new coaching staff, there is some optimism that Murray can bounce back. Murray could be a fine sleeper pick against a weak New York Giants run defense in daily games this weekend, but you'd be putting a lot of faith on the line.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray to stick around

Tue, 29 Dec 2015 21:12:01 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray met with team owner Jeffrey Lurie on the team plane after Week 13's game to discuss his role with the team. He expressed a lack of confidence in Chip Kelly, fired as head coach Tuesday, Dec. 29. Murray has struggled in his first season with the team, averaging 3.5 yards per carry with a total of 633 rushing yards. He is likely to stay in Philadelphia now that Kelly is out of a job, according to reports.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was a poor fit in Kelly's system, but perhaps the team will now have a more conventional offense where the prized free agent from last year's offseason will be able to shine. Murray might come on the cheap in 2016 in standard fantasy leagues as some look back rather than forward.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray struggles again

Sat, 26 Dec 2015 20:58:12 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray had five carries for 27 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 24 yards in a 38-24 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 16. He also lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Murray avoided being a complete bust by scoring a short touchdown, but he has run for 34 yards or less in five straight games. He isn't worth using at FantasyScore.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray doesn't fit offense

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 21:36:40 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray has taken a majority of his snaps out of the shotgun formation this season after taking a majority of his snaps with the quarterback under center last year, which better suited his one-cut style.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been a monumental bust this year, and he is on pace to run for 1,146 fewer yards than he did last season. He has been particularly ineffective recently, and he needs to be avoided at FantasyScore.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray unhappy

Tue, 22 Dec 2015 13:40:43 -0800

Contrary to a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray was visibly angry and blew up in the locker room following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week.

Fantasy Tip: So much for Murray being happy and unworried about his role. This side of the story seems more plausible than Murray being content. He has hardly touched the ball of late after receiving over 400 touches last season. That kind of drop off is finally getting to him it seems. Again, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are both better FantasyScore options than Murray right now, despite his lower price.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray not worried, feels good

Tue, 22 Dec 2015 13:28:09 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray is not worried about the decreased role he has taken on this season. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmer hinted that Murray's lack of playing time could be the aftereffects of the heavy workload he had in 2014. Murray did say that he feels great and that he's not hurt or sore.

Fantasy Tip: Perhaps Murray ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) isn't hurt or sore because he's hardly seen the field lately. Only Chip Kelly and the Eagles really know if Murray is in the doghouse or if they're keeping him fresh for a possible playoff run. Ryan Mathews ($6,300, 12.6%) remains the better play on FantasyScore out of the Eagles backfield.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray plays eight snaps

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 05:22:15 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played just eight snaps (12% of the offense) Sunday, Dec. 20. RB Darren Sproles played 30 snaps (47%), and Ryan Mathews played 26 (41%).

Fantasy Tip: Murray can't be used in fantasy right now. Sproles and Mathews splitting the work hurts each other's value, but they are decent flex options.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray barely used

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 21:36:48 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray managed two carries for just three yards in the Week 15 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Murray killed fantasy owners who made the unfortunate decision to use him in the primetime game. Avoid him going forward until he works his way out of Chip Kelly's doghouse or into a bigger role.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray says he's fresh

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 09:38:13 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray has seen his role in the offense reduced drastically the last two weeks, and through 12 games this year he has just 174 carries compared to 287 rushes through 12 games with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. As a result, Murray said it's the freshest he's been this time of year. Despite voicing his displeasure to owner Jeff Lurie two weeks ago, Murray said he's happy and committed to returning to the Eagles next year. Murray had 11 carries last week to RB Ryan Mathews' 13 and RB Darren Sproles' seven.

Fantasy Tip: It's clear now that Murray ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) isn't the lead back in Philly anymore, and Chip Kelly is going with a three-headed committee in the backfield. That makes it really tough to rely on any one rusher in this backfield, especially in Week 15 against the top-five defense of the Arizona Cardinals.

Eagles | Philly not appeasing DeMarco Murray

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 12:44:22 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he's not concerned with trying to make RB DeMarco Murray happy. "I've never been concerned with making any individual happy. Our focus and goal is always on trying to win the football game," Kelly said.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has seen his workload drop of late, and he had a season-low eight totes two weeks ago. He is truly part of a three-headed monster committee running back approach with Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles now. Murray surely isn't attractive in daily formats against a stiff Arizona Cardinals D in Week 15, either.

Eagles | Darren Sproles leads team in rushing

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 14:29:18 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown on seven carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. RB Ryan Mathews rushed for 38 yards on 13 carries, while RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 34 yards on 11 carries.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles spread the carries between the three runners but none had great success on the ground. All three probably will continue to receive carries with Sproles possibly being the most value in terms of fantasy because of his ability to produce in the running and passing game.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray expected to see reduced role

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 08:39:43 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray will be active for Week 14's game against the Buffalo Bills, although the team considered benching him after he vented to owner Jeffrey Lurie about his role in head coach Chip Kelly's offense following their victory over the New England Patriots in Week 13. RB Darren Sproles is expected to have a prominent role in the offense versus Buffalo and could wind up receiving more carries than Murray.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has gained just 54 rushing yards over the past two weeks and should be avoided in all fantasy formats this week due to his anticipated reduced role and lack of production. He will be one of four running backs active for the Eagles against Buffalo, along with Sproles ($3,600, 7.2% of cap), Ryan Mathews ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) and Kenjon Barner ($2,400, 4.8% of cap). Sproles warrants consideration as a flex player in FantasyScore and Mathews is also expected to see a decent number of snaps in his return from a concussion but Barner has no fantasy value.

Eagles | Philly offense won't be tweaked

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 14:42:41 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has said that he hasn't considered changing the team's scheme to fit RB DeMarco Murray. Murray has just one 100-yard game this year after rushing for 100 yards 10 times in 11 games last season. Murray has voiced his frustration with his smaller workload, but Kelly attributes Murray's struggles to the entire offense. Kelly also said Murray was the lead carrier for every game except Week 13 against the New England Patriots. Kelly doesn't think Murray running out of the shotgun is what is slowing him down, as he did it often in college and with the Dallas Cowboys last year.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles have had a three-headed monster in the backfield for most of the year, and Murray ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) just hasn't found his stride sharing significant touches in the backfield. Running laterally in Kelly's system hasn't fit his skill as well, either, and it doesn't appear close to turning around. Until we see Murray find comfort in this offense, he's a flex play, at best, on FantasyScore in the right matchup.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray remains committed

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 14:28:22 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray said he "100%" wants to remain a member of the Eagles next season.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) hasn't been a very good fit for Chip Kelly's offense this year and played just 14 snaps in a win in Week 13, being outshined by Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner. The matchup against a tough Buffalo Bills defensive front doesn't look enticing, either, especially with Ryan Mathews set to return and complicate the backfield even more.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray no longer lead back?

Tue, 08 Dec 2015 10:42:05 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray may no longer be the team's lead running back, especially with RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) returning to practice Tuesday, Dec. 8. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur did not confirm that Murray was still the leading running back, and the Eagles remain confident in all of their running backs. Murray had just eight carries for 24 yards in the win over the New England Patriots in Week 13, fewer than RBs Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner.

Fantasy Tip: With the Eagles non-committal on Murray's ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) status in the backfield or workload, you'll want to avoid him on FantasyScore against the Buffalo Bills this weekend. In fact, staying away from this backfield entirely might be the best plan with Mathews ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) on his way back.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray vents to owner

Tue, 08 Dec 2015 06:42:22 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray addressed his frustrations in head coach Chip Kelly's offense with owner Jeffrey Lurie recently.

Fantasy Tip: Well, this could work for Murray or it could work against him. What we know for sure is that he has not fit the offense well. The Buffalo Bills appear to be a tough matchup in Week 14, but they've actually been exploited by running backs and are in the bottom of the league the last five weeks. Murray's ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) price has dropped to a comfortable level on FantasyScore if he is rekindled into the offense.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray sees limited action

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 07:09:43 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played just 14 snaps Sunday, Dec. 6, and had eight carries against the New England Patriots. Murray averaged 36 snaps per game before Sunday. His previous low this season was 25. RB Darren Sproles had 15 carries, the third-most of his career and his most since he had 18 in 2009. RB Kenjon Barner had nine carries, which was a career high. Head coach Chip Kelly explained the distribution of carries by saying he believed that the smaller, faster Barner and Sproles would be better matchups for the Eagles against the Patriots' larger linebackers.

Fantasy Tip: This could be a one-game ordeal, but Sproles had 66 yards on 15 carries and four grabs for 34 yards. It's a situation that's worth monitoring as the Eagles prepare for Buffalo Bills in Week 14.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray stifled in Week 12

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 18:16:40 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray had 14 carries for 30 yards in a 45-14 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Throw in the fact that he didn't catch a pass, and Murray had arguably his worst game of the season. He continues to disappoint in his first year with the Eagles.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray posts solid day

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 15:52:08 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray ran for 61 yards on 22 carries and caught six passes for 58 yards in a 20-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) had nearly 120 yards of total offense, but the question is how will Murray be utilized if QB Mark Sanchez has to start. The odds are Murray would be a safe bet, but it's still worth looking into how Murray will be used.

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 11:31:33 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (groin) practiced fully Friday, Nov. 13, and is probable for Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) has heated up and faces a Dolphins team opposing RBs have exploited the last five weeks. He's a low-end RB1 on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) seems to have hit his stride and faces one of the worst defenses against RBs the last five weeks in the Miami Dolphins. He's a low-end RB1 consideration on FantasyScore.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray exacts revenge

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 22:22:28 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray carried 18 times for 83 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys, and he added six receptions for 78 yards in his first game back in Dallas since signing with the Eagles in the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) had his best game of the season. After a slow start, Murray has 65 or more rushing yards in each of the past four games, and at least 120 total yards from scrimmage in three of the past four while scoring touchdowns in three of the past four. He has re-emerged as a must-start in FantasyScore at a mid-tier price.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray checks back in

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 19:20:07 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (leg) checked back into the Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys in the third quarter after missing just a handful of snaps.

Fantasy Tip: Murray appeared to be having his leg or groin area stretched out. He looked fine upon checking back in, as he had a long reception down the right sideline.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray on trainers' table

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 16:52:06 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (leg) is on the trainers' table on the sideline in the third quarter of the Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys being stretched out.

Fantasy Tip: It appears he has some sort of a quadriceps or groin issue which tightened up on him. If he cannot return it would be Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles picked up the slack.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews workload constantly evolving

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 16:37:41 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur suggested that the team decides on the workloads for RBs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews before the games start. Head coach Chip Kelly said running backs coach Duce Staley is in charge of divvying up the workload between the backs. "I think that's been misunderstood," Shurmur said. "When we go into a game, we sit and plan how we're going to do things. Then we utilize the backs throughout the game based on how they're doing, how they're feeling at times. Mathews tweaked his groin two weeks ago against the Carolina Panthers and was trying to work through it, which is why he saw only six carries to Murray's 18.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Mathews ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) isn't hampered by his groin again in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys, he's an interesting consideration for a flex spot on FantasyScore. The Cowboys are a top-10 matchup in PPR setups for running backs.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews the better back?

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 08:41:30 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews has looked like the much better running back than RB DeMarco Murray after he ran for 22 yards and 63 yards on a touchdown scamper in the Week 7 loss to the Carolina Panthers. However, Mathews had just one carry after that, while Murray had seven carries for only 25 yards in the same span. Head coach Chip Kelly said running backs coach Duce Staley is in charge of divvying up the carries between the three running backs. "There's only one ball," Mathews said. "We've got three good running backs."

Fantasy Tip: Other than a nice performance last week, Murray has been a huge bust for his fantasy owners. This backfield is very tough to predict, and it's hard for fantasy owners to rely on Mathews when he isn't getting enough touches.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray back to normal self

Fri, 23 Oct 2015 10:32:06 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray said he finally feels back to his normal self after rushing for over 100 yards in Week 6. However, he'll face a Carolina Panthers run defense in Week 7 that is allowing only 3.9 yards per carry this year. Murray had 21 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown last week against the New York Giants and has 41 carries for 195 yards and two scores in the last two weeks.

Fantasy Tip: The Panthers aren't a terrible fantasy matchup for running backs in PPR formats; they give up the 11th-most points per game (26.1) to runners. However, it'll still be a tall task for Murray ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) given his style of running and the fact that Philly has other capable pass-catching backs. This is probably a week to fade Murray despite a recent outburst.

Eagles | RBs share work in Philadelphia

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 06:48:18 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played 44 snaps (56% of the offense) Monday, Oct. 19, in Week 6. RB Darren Sproles played 24 snaps (31%) and RB Ryan Mathews played 19 snaps (24%).

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) eclipsed 100 yards finally, but it could be short-lived as the Eagles play the Carolina Panthers in Week 7. Murray is a low-end RB1 on FantasyScore. Sproles ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) could be a flex option, but he hasn't been utilized enough to be a comfortable option.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray finally on track

Mon, 19 Oct 2015 22:16:08 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray carried 22 times for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 win against the New York Giants Monday, Oct. 19. He also posted three receptions for 14 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) has taken a while to get on track, but he had his best game of the season and might finally be starting to get comfortable in the Philadelphia offense. Still, until this point he has been a little overpriced in FantasyScore.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray busy in Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray had 20 carries for 83 yards and seven catches for 37 yards in a 39-17 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) saw his most touches of the season and finished with his most yards from scrimmage thus far. Philadelphia's offense seems to be improving, so Murray could continue to bounce back from a terrible start in the coming weeks.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray unhappy with touches

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 05:38:36 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray said he's not getting enough touches in the offense Sunday, Oct. 4. "No, I'm not," Murray said. "I don't think I am. It's how the plays are being called. I love this offense. I love playing with these guys. It's just how it is."

Fantasy Tip: Murray had just eight carries for 36 yards in Week 4. He has 29 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown in three games. He'll have a better matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5, but can you trust him on FantasyScore? His Week 4 price tag ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) makes him an extreme risk.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray not happy with role

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 17:55:25 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray had eight carries for 36 yards and two catches for 12 yards in a 23-20 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 4, and after the game, Murray said he was not being given enough touches.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) ran for 30 yards on his first carry but didn't do much after that. Philadelphia's offense can't find any sort of rhythm, and Murray is too expensive to trust at FantasyScore right now.

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is active for the Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray should be on the field

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 07:42:58 -0700

Eagles | DeMarco Murray expected to play

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 16:50:01 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring), who is questionable for Week 4 against the Washington Redskins, is expected to play, according to a source informed of the situation.

Fantasy Tip: This makes Philly's backfield even more tricky in Week 4. Ryan Mathews ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) excelled in Murray's absence last week. Murray ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) could be limited in his touches in a game that could feature plenty of running due to inclement weather. Mathews is probably the safer play on FantasyScore, and Sproles ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) remains a flex option with intrigue. You may want to wait another week to use Murray.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray's status in question

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 12:48:06 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 2, and is listed as questionable for the Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to check the inactive list to see if Murray ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) will be able to play against the Redskins. Murray would be a risky option for owners because of his injury as well as he struggles early in the season. Owners may want to use other options even if Murray is active.

Eagles | DeMarco Murray to be game-time decision

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 14:34:13 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) will be a game-time decision in Week 4 against the Washington Redskins. Murray missed Week 3 and has only 11 yards on 21 carries in two weeks this year.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Murray ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) said he put in a full practice Thursday. That points to him being able to play this weekend. However, he's big risk on FantasyScore coming off the injury and in a game that could face harsh weather conditions.

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 11:15:53 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) said he felt better Thursday, Oct. 1, and will be a full participant in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Murray ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) has been sluggish to open the season and faces a beastly Washington Redskins defense this week. We understand shying away from him on FantasyScore, but we're not counting him out either.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews' role uncertain

Mon, 28 Sep 2015 11:56:19 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews led the team in carries in Week 3, but head coach Chip Kelly said he is not sure if Mathews deserves a majority of the carries in Week 4 against the Washington Redskins. Kelly said Mathews, DeMarco Murray and Darren Sproles all fit perfectly in the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Mathews rushed for 108 yards in the Week 3, while Sproles helped out in the running and passing game. It is not known if DeMarco Murray will be able to play in Week 4, so the roles for all of the running backs are uncertain at this point. Owners will need to follow the situation during the week to have a better idea how they will be used.
