Jets | No practice for Jeremy Kerley

Tue, 10 Nov 2015 14:22:09 -0800

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) did not practice Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't much of a factor when Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are both healthy and playing. Kerley is avoidable for FantasyScore lineups.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley has role in offense

Mon, 28 Sep 2015 10:14:02 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley was on the field for 71 of the team's 79 offensive snaps during Week 3 and caught six passes for 33 yards. Kerley's snaps could drop again if WR Eric Decker (knee) is able to play in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley should continue to see snaps as long as the team is dealing with injuries at the receiver position. Kerley likely will not post big numbers when he is on the field and is not a great fantasy option.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley could play a lot

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:38:16 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is expected to see plenty of action in Week 3 with WR Chris Owusu (knee) out and WR Eric Decker (knee) questionable, according to Darryl Slater of NJ.com. Slater said Kerley specializes in the slot, which is where he is expected to take over for Decker.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley has not caught a pass this year, but has been used in the return game. His cheap price could make him an attractive sneaky play on FantasyScore this week, but there is obviously some risk with him. Tread carefully.

Jets | Chris Owusu unlikely to play

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 11:33:07 -0700

New York Jets WR Chris Owusu (leg) is unlikely to play in Week 3. WR Quincy Enunwa, WR Jeremy Kerley and WR Devin Smith could likely fill in.

Fantasy Tip: It gets interesting if Eric Decker (knee) is out as well, which could make Quincy Enunwa ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) an option against a depleted Philadelphia Eagles defense. However, there's not a lot to get excited about on FantasyScore.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley on the outs quickly

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 10:29:26 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley will receive "bits and pieces" of the offense as the season progresses after he was demoted down the depth chart, according to offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) isn't a good option on FantasyScore against the New England Patriots. From the sounds of it, he's not a good option to have rostered except in the deepest traditional leagues.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley wants to start

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 16:31:21 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley views himself as a starter. Despite being disappointed, Kerley has not asked to be traded. He was expected to be the No. 3 wide receiver behind WRs Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, but WRs Chris Owusu and Quincy Enunwa have also surpassed him. Kerley said he was a little shocked only receiving one snap in Week 1, but he takes solace in the fact that he can still return punts.

Fantasy Tip: It might be a little too early to consider dropping Kerley already if you drafted him, but that move could come in the near future. Obviously, after taking just one snap last week, Kerley ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is not a worthwhile investment on FantasyScore.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley hardly used in Week 1

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 10:33:31 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley was on the field for only three snaps during the team's Week 1 game which included one offensive snap. Head coach Todd Bowles indicated Kerley's playing time will depend on the game plan.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Kerley is becoming mostly a punt returner for the Jets and could be a candidate for the inactive list if he does not receive a bigger role in the passing game. Owners should avoid Kerley until he receives more targets.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa to be No. 3 WR?

Sat, 12 Sep 2015 12:11:10 -0700

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa and WR Jeremy Kerley are expected to be the No. 3 and No. 4 wide receivers, respectively, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Tip: Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker will see the majority of looks from Ryan Fitzpatrick. Enunwa and Kerley won't see enough chances to be worth starting on FantasyScore.

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 12:19:03 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 11, and is listed as probable for Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) likely will be the No. 3 or No. 4 receiver for the Jets in Week 1 and probably will not receive many targets during the game. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley practices Thursday

Thu, 10 Sep 2015 14:09:39 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has a chance to be the No. 3 receiver if he is healthy enough to play. Kerley has not posted great numbers over the last few seasons and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley a full participant

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 14:46:08 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to consider starting any Jets' wide receiver other than Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. You can stay away from Kerley and the rest of the New York wide receivers until Marshall or Decker get injured.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley on the bubble?

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 13:16:41 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is a distant option to be released, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. Kerley is still expected to make the team, especially since he's their best returner.

Fantasy Tip: As Cimini noted, it doesn't look like Kerley will play a big role in offensive coordinator Chan Gailey's offense. You can avoid him in drafts.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley could be in danger

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 15:24:49 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) may be in danger of dropping down the depth chart or released outright, as the performance of WR Quincy Enunwa in camp has taken some of Kerley's playing time away.

Fantasy Tip: There are two things to consider for Kerley. Depending on the severity of his concussion, Kerley could be out or not himself for several weeks. Kerley is listed behind WR Brandon Marshall on the depth chart in the second receiver slot. Keep an eye on how he fares in recovery.

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 20:51:43 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) suffered a concussion in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons Friday, Aug. 21.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley still the top slot WR

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 17:22:34 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is still the No. 1 slot receiver, according to head coach Todd Bowles, even though Kerley has practiced mostly with the second-team offense.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley's role seems unclear at this point, but he could be worth a flier in deeper points-per-reception leagues.

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley has been practicing with the second unit and played with that group in the first preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13. WR Quincy Enunwa was given the starting slot role in the game and dropped his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley is worth watching this preseason and could be a WR5 flyer.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley to return punts?

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:00:39 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is the favorite to be the punt returner for the Jets this season, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley is also expected to be the starting slot receiver, so there will be decent fantasy value in leagues that award return points. He's still no more than a WR4, however, as Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker will see the majority of targets and Geno Smith will likely be the starting quarterback.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley likely to play in slot

Sat, 30 May 2015 11:48:34 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is expected to be the primary slot receiver for the Jets this season, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley will be the third receiving option behind Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker this season, with rookie WR Devin Smith also likely to see a good amount of playing time. Kerley should be considered a WR5 at best heading into 2015 drafts.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley not present at OTAs

Wed, 27 May 2015 13:42:57 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (personal) missed organized team activities Wednesday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley skipped OTAs for personal reasons, so it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal. He'll play behind Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker this year and could win the No. 3 wide receiver spot, but isn't fantasy relevant unless there's an injury.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley may return punts

Mon, 18 May 2015 17:36:21 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is one of the leading candidates to be the team's punt returner in 2015, according to special teams coach Bobby April.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley is expected to be a slot receiver for the Jets this upcoming season but could also be used as a punt returner. Kerley saw his receiving stats drop in 2014, and he could have a decreased role in the passing game with Brandon Marshall and Devin Smith joining the team. Kerley could be a late-round option in drafts or an option on the waiver wire during the season.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley could see more time

Sat, 04 Apr 2015 07:30:36 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley could receive more playing time in 2015 than he did this past season, according to general manager Mike Maccagnan. "In particular, I do like Kerley a little bit," Maccagnan said. "I've kind of scouted him coming out of college a while ago. I'm kind of excited to see him get a few more reps than he got last year in terms of his playing time."

Fantasy Tip: Kerley was limited to 38 receptions, 409 yards and one touchdown in 2014. He won't start next season but could be used as a slot receiver. Kerley probably would be a later round pick in deeper leagues since he will not be on the field all the time.

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 11:01:43 -0800

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) fully practiced Friday, Dec. 5, and is probable for Week 14.

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 08:58:33 -0800

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) is participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley missed practice Wednesday, Dec. 3, because of an illness but appears to be feeling better. Kerley has caught more than two passes in only one of his last seven games and does not look to have a big role in the passing game. Owners probably should avoid using Kerley even though he only costs $3,000 on FantasyScore.

Fri, 31 Oct 2014 13:35:05 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Oct. 31, and is probable for Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley's price ($3,000) is at the bare minimum for receivers at FantasyScore now that Percy Harvin is in the fold. It'll limit Kerley's targets considerably, making him now a flex play, at best.

Thu, 30 Oct 2014 14:24:37 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 30.

Thu, 23 Oct 2014 16:45:43 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley's four-year contract extension is worth $14 million in new money, including a $3 million signing bonus.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley's value has gone down with the addition of Percy Harvin. It might be best to stay away from him, if not for just a week, to see how he's used with Harvin in the offense.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley's extension official

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 13:06:02 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley officially signed a four-year, $16 million extension Tuesday, Oct. 21. Kerley will receive $5.4 million of guaranteed money. He has 22 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown this year.

Fantasy Tip: The acquisition of Percy Harvin could open up more room to run for Kerley, although his targets may suffer as a result. In Week 8, the Jets face a favorable matchup for Kerley in the Buffalo Bills. Kerley will be flying under the radar at FantasyScore at a price of $3,000 (6.0% of cap).

Jets | Jeremy Kerley nearly invisible

Sun, 28 Sep 2014 13:59:18 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley had just one catch for three yards in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. He was targeted three times.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley was nearly blanked this week. He was clearly behind Eric Decker, as the former Broncos receiver was targeted a team-high 10 times. With Decker healthy, Kerley's already fleeting fantasy appeal takes a huge hit.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley could be targeted often

Fri, 26 Sep 2014 10:38:00 -0700

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley has been targeted 24 times in three games this year, and that's likely to continue into Week 4 against the Detroit Lions with WR Eric Decker (hamstring) still dealing with a hamstring injury. The Lions have also used six different players in the slot cornerback, where Kerley lines up.

Fantasy Tip: Kerley has been an under-the-radar PPR weapon for fantasy football owners. Consider him a strong play against the Lions this weekend. He'll cost you only $4,900 (9.8% of cap) at FantasyScore, too.
