|Bills | MarQueis Gray excited about offense|
Mon, 13 Jul 2015 07:34:41 -0700
Buffalo Bills TE MarQueis Gray is excited about playing in offensive coordinator Greg Roman's scheme with TE Charles Clay. "This offense right here is tight end heaven," Gray said. "We move around so much that we really play receiver, slot, we play everything but running back. You could line up at any of those spots - that's the best part about this offense." Gray also said this could be his breakout year. "Especially with this offense and the opportunities coming my way - I'm going to take full advantage of it," Gray said. "I want to be that guy where defensive coordinators say 'Watch out for 48.' I want to put fear in the defense."
Fantasy Tip: Gray is a fringe option at the position but could be worth a waiver pickup during the season. Clay has some PPR upside and is in the midrange TE1 discussion.

|Bills | Charles Clay to move around|
Sun, 12 Jul 2015 10:36:06 -0700
Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay said he will be lining up at different positions this season under offensive coordinator Greg Roman. "Whether it's running routes or catching as receivers out of the backfield, he does a good job of moving guys around," Clay said. "I can't think of any position where I'm lined up at more than another. The receivers will tell you the same thing. They're moving around as much as I am."
Fantasy Tip: The Bills gave Clay a lucrative contract this offseason, so he should have a solid role in the passing game. He has recorded at least 600 yards in each of the last two seasons and has nine touchdowns in that span. Clay could be a low-end No. 1 tight end or a solid backup in most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Clay showed flashes in Miami, but consistency was an issue. He's a low-end TE1 or high-end TE2.

|Dolphins | Miami will not match Charles Clay offer|
Thu, 19 Mar 2015 08:20:34 -0700
Miami Dolphins transition free-agent TE Charles Clay's five-year, $38 million offer sheet he signed with the Buffalo Bills will not be matched by the Dolphins, according to a source. Clay will now become a member of the Bills.
Fantasy Tip: Clay will become the starting tight end for the Bills and should have a solid role in the passing game. Clay probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy tight end at this point because the Bills' uncertain quarterback situation. The Dolphins will go with Jordan Cameron as their starter, and he could be a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 tight end for owners.

|Bills | Buffalo expected to land Charles Clay|
Wed, 18 Mar 2015 11:49:27 -0700
Miami Dolphins transition free-agent TE Charles Clay is expected to land with the Buffalo Bills after signing a five-year, $38 million offer sheet with Buffalo Tuesday, March 17, according to a source. The Dolphins have five days to match the offer sheet, but they aren't expected to. Clay is set to make $24.5 million in the first two years of the deal. The total deal is only for $38 million for five years. Miami's last offer to Clay was for four years and $27 million, including less than $14 million guaranteed.
Fantasy Tip: After the Dolphins signed Jordan Cameron to be their tight end, it was basically a foregone conclusion that Clay wouldn't be back in Miami. In Buffalo, he'll join a suddenly much more formidable offense. However, the quarterback situation remains unsettled, and Clay may get lost in the shuffle for aerial targets. He's probably best left as a midrange TE2 with some upside on draft day.

|Bills | Charles Clay signs offer sheet from Bills|
Tue, 17 Mar 2015 16:27:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Bills offense is already stacked with RB LeSean McCoy and WRs Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin. Clay would add to an already potent offense, but the problem is at quarterback, where either Matt Cassel or EJ Manuel will likely be starting. Mediocre quarterback play hinders Clay's value, but he should certainly be capable of low-end TE1 numbers in 2015.

|Bills | Buffalo has good shot at Charles Clay|
Mon, 16 Mar 2015 15:06:11 -0700
Miami Dolphins transition free-agent TE Charles Clay visited with the Buffalo Bills late last week, and the Bills have a "90%" chance of landing him, according to a source close to the situation. The Bills plan to follow through with their plan to sign him to an offer sheet. Head coach Rex Ryan has been the driving force in the pursuit of Clay. Buffalo continues to study their salary cap numbers and those of the Dolphins.
Fantasy Tip: Look for Clay to Buffalo to become official later this week. Clay will join a much different Buffalo offense under Ryan, and he probably won't receive enough targets to be anything more than a weak TE2 option. Clay could also be much more involved in the run game as a blocker.

|Browns | Cleveland unlikely to land Charles Clay|
Mon, 16 Mar 2015 14:59:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Clay is expected to land with the Buffalo Bills and their retooled offense this offseason. Clay had his moments with the Dolphins, but he really wasn't anything more than a TE2 for fantasy owners. If he indeed signs with the Bills, he'll join a team with plenty of weapons on that side of the ball, and he could be asked to block more often in Rex Ryan's ground-and-pound offensive philosophy. Consider Clay a low-end TE2 if he goes to Buffalo.
