The New York Giants waived RB Da'Rel Scott Tuesday, Oct. 15. The team also released LB Darin Drakeford from the practice squad.
Fantasy Tip: Brandon Jacobs will be the main ball carrier now, with Michael Cox likely spelling him at times. It looks as though the G-Men will sign either Danny Ware or Peyton Hillis to the squad tomorrow.

New York Giants RBs Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and Da'Rel Scott (hamstring) both missed practice Monday, Oct. 14, with hamstring injuries, leaving RB Michael Cox as the only runner to practice. RB David Wilson (neck) is receiving a second opinion on his neck injury. Jacobs is expected to make it back to practice by Thursday, Oct. 17. However, Cox was told by coaches that he'd play in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. He's been active in four games this season but hasn't had a single carry.
Fantasy Tip: Cox's playing time will depend on whether Scott is healthy enough to play on Monday night. Jacobs looked healthy and in shape in his start in Week 6 on Thursday night. He'll be a popular waiver wire addition this week.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Da'Rel Scott (hamstring) is expected to miss a few weeks with a hamstring strain.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 13:02:55 -0700
New York Giants RB David Wilson (neck) is worried that his neck condition is season-ending, and he will receive a second opinion Monday, Oct. 14. He's feeling fine, but X-rays have shown that a vertebrae is too close to his spinal cord, a condition known as spinal stenosis.
Fantasy Tip: Not good news for Wilson owners, clearly. Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rel Scott both should be owned if you have Wilson on your team. Jacobs looked good last night and will likely continue to see the bulk of the workload with Wilson sidelined.

New York Giants RB Da'Rel Scott (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in the team's Week 6 game.
Thu, 10 Oct 2013 06:29:44 -0700
Updating previous reports, New York Giants RB David Wilson (neck) could require surgery and miss the rest of the season.
Fantasy Tip: It's been a very disappointing season for Wilson to this point. Da'Rel Scott and Brandon Jacobs will likely split time with Wilson out. Scott has slightly more appeal in point-per-reception leagues, but this situation isn't very attractive unless you're desperate for a warm body at a RB spot. If Wilson misses the rest of the season, expect the G-Men to be on the market for a free-agent back.
Tue, 08 Oct 2013 10:41:38 -0700
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed that RB David Wilson (neck) will not play in the team's Week 6 game.
Fantasy Tip: Da'Rel Scott will likely carry the load in Week 6, with Brandon Jacobs getting the short yardage work. Jacobs is more of a long shot play.
Mon, 07 Oct 2013 15:36:07 -0700
The New York Giants will re-sign free-agent RB Da'Rel Scott.
Fantasy Tip: Scott likely would share carries with Brandon Jacobs in Week 6 if David Wilson (neck) is not able to play. Scott could be a flex option for desperate owners in deeper leagues if Wilson sits out the game.
Tue, 01 Oct 2013 13:14:06 -0700
The New York Giants waived Da'Rel Scott Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Fantasy Tip: This is good news for David Wilson owners, and Brandon Jacobs owners in deeper leagues as both will likely see more work as a result of this move.
Mon, 16 Sep 2013 10:53:16 -0700
Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB David Wilson ran only seven times for 17 yards in the Week 2 loss against the Denver Broncos, and he was on the field for only 24 of 79 offensive snaps. Wilson lost goal-line carries to RB Brandon Jacobs. RB Da'Rel Scott led the way with 39 snaps played. Head coach Tom Coughlin has struggled to trust Wilson in pass protection, and even Scott is seen as a better blocker in those situations.
Fantasy Tip: Wilson's limited workload is definitely a concern, but look at the bright side: at least he didn't fumble. Yes, Wilson will lose value by not being the goal-line back, but he should see his workload go back up if he doesn't put the ball on the turf.
