Wed, 09 Sep 2015 12:05:49 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu is listed as the No. 3 running back behind RBs Latavius Murray and Taiwan Jones.
Fantasy Tip: Helu was expected to be Oakland's backup running back behind Murray, but Jones has won that title, at least for now. Helu should still be used some in the passing game and is still worth rostering in PPR leagues.
Tue, 08 Sep 2015 12:32:38 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Taiwan Jones is currently listed ahead of RB Roy Helu as RB Latavius Murray's backup.
Fantasy Tip: This is mildly surprising as Helu was the favorite to be the backup running back. We still don't know what their roles will be, but Jones is expected to return kicks. Helu may still see more playing time in the passing game.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 12:13:29 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu (undisclosed) returned to practice Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Latavius Murray will be the Raiders' primary running back as long as he's healthy, but Helu should be in at least on passing downs. He's proven to be one of the more consistent pass-catching running backs in recent years. You could do worse than drafting him as your RB4 in PPR leagues.
Wed, 05 Aug 2015 17:05:33 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu was working with a trainer on the side of practice Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Helu is likely to enter the 2015 season as the principle passing-down back in Oakland. While he won't have much value in standard leagues, Helu is worth a look in deeper PPR leagues.
Wed, 08 Jul 2015 13:54:47 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu was one of two running backs with at least 40 targets last season that caught 89% of those targets. Helu caught 42 of his 44 targets. The other running back was Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray.
Fantasy Tip: Helu hasn't run the ball a lot in his three-year career so far, but he has proven to be a solid pass-catcher. Latavius Murray will be doing most of the ground and pound work out of the backfield for the Raiders, but Helu should see his fair share of opportunities on passing downs. He has more value in PPR leagues and should be taken as RB4.
Sun, 05 Jul 2015 20:20:50 -0700
Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu had an "outstanding" offseason and showed good quickness, awareness and hands, according to offensive line coach Mike Tice.
Fantasy Tip: Helu could be worth a late-round flier in point-per-reception leagues, especially if Trent Richardson underwhelms leading up to the season.
