Brewers | Jean Segura back in action

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 17:42:57 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura (illness) is back in the lineup for the game Monday, July 27, against the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is batting sixth in manager Craig Counsell's lineup and is a decent mid-level FantasyScore option at this price level.

Brewers | Jean Segura leading off

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 14:21:52 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is leading off against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin Friday, July 24.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has a .397/.424/.444 slash line in July, so he was already a nice upside play for FantasyScore contests. Batting leadoff sweetens the deal. Strongly consider slotting Segura into your daily lineups Friday.

Brewers | Big night for Jean Segura

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 20:44:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Jean Segura went 3-for-4 with two runs, a home run, two RBI and a stolen base during the Brewers' 8-1 win over the Cleveland Indians Tuesday, July 22.

Fantasy Tip: It was just the fourth round tripper of the season for Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap), and while he boasts nice upside, the large nights have been few and far between this season. He has been a low-end option in the majority of seasonal leagues, and nothing more than a flier most nights at FantasyScore. However, the shortstop is heating up in July (24-for-56) and could finish the season strong.

Brewers | Jean Segura leading off

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 09:08:03 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is batting first in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke Sunday, July 19.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting .396 this month with four three-hit games in that span. He is hitting .303 against left-handed pitcher this season and could be a solid option for owners on FantasyScore.

Mets | Jean Segura, Juan Uribe options for Mets?

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 10:58:08 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura and Atlanta Braves 3B Juan Uribe are seen as fallback options for the New York Mets as the trade deadline approaches.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is more valuable to fantasy owners than Uribe ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) because of his stolen base potential. However, Segura would likely lose the most value in a deal to the Mets, but probably not all that much considering he doesn't hit for much power to begin with.

Brewers | Jean Segura on trade block?

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 10:30:54 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is a trade chip that the Brewers are willing to deal, and a person familiar with the team's thinking suggested that Segura could easily be traded with the rise of SS Orlando Arcia. Arcia could actually be drawing more trade interest than Segura, and the San Diego Padres have been linked to him. "He's the best player I saw in the minor leagues this year," said an National League executive. Another NL executive compared Arcia to Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor, "only better." The New York Mets don't love Segura because of his aggressiveness at the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is a great source of stolen bases, but you can't count on him for much else. He's actually hit better on the road this year (.299) than at hitter-friendly Miller Park, so a trade out of Milwaukee is unlikely to drastically affect his fantasy value. Put Arcia squarely on your radar if you're in a dynasty or keeper league.

Mets | A-Ram, Jean Segura involved in Mets talks

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 08:51:49 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez and SS Jean Segura have been named in trade discussions with the New York Mets recently.

Fantasy Tip: A-Ram ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a .360-1-6 line this month and could benefit from a pennant chase. His price is a little too high for his .238 average with so-so power numbers. Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is 12-for-28 (.429) this month and is a great undervalued SS on FantasyScore right now.

Brewers | Jean Segura extends hit streak

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 21:49:12 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura went 1-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts Tuesday, July 7, against the Atlanta Braves.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500; or 7.0% of cap) has hit safely in six games, going 12-for-25 (.480). He is a solid mid-level FantasyScore option at this price.

Brewers | Jean Segura at leadoff Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 16:21:43 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is hitting leadoff against Atlanta Braves SP Manny Banuelos Tuesday, July 7.

Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) isn't a bad value pick on FantasyScore tonight. He gains daily value when he's hitting atop the order, and the Brew Crew have been hot offensively as a team lately.

Brewers | Jean Segura out Wednesday

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 11:33:40 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 1. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has made quite an impression for the Brewers early on (.360-0-2) in just 50 at-bats, but he doesn't have much power to speak of. A matchup against the struggling Harang is nice, but a lineup placement down in the order limits Perez's already dim upside.
