Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 16, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas appears to be all systems go for Week 2 against the San Diego Chargers, who gave up a ton of yards and points to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Thomas is in TE1 territory again as a legitimate threat to score in back-to-back weeks.

Jaguars | Julius Thomas practices

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 11:14:22 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: After sustaining a sprained ankle in the Week 1 game Sunday, Sept. 11, it's encouraging that Thomas was a participant in practice Wednesday. He lands in a strong matchup against the San Diego Chargers this week and checks out as a low-end TE1 with upside.

Jaguars | Julius Thomas sustains ankle injury

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 11:37:52 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in a Week 1 loss against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Here we go again? Thomas' lack of durability is well-chronicled, and his ankle problems are a big part of that. The artist formerly known as "Orange Julius" played 56-of-74 snaps versus the Packers, so it would seem this particular injury isn't going to be a big deal. Assuming that is the case, consider him a low-end TE1 versus the San Diego Chargers in Week 2.

Jaguars | Julius Thomas to see big role

Thu, 08 Sep 2016 07:19:09 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas will be a significant part of the offense in 2016, and QB Blake Bortles said it would be irresponsible if Thomas weren't.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas' injury in camp last season didn't allow him to get into a rhythm, but he did have a stretch last year with a touchdown in four straight games. He'll be a midrange starting option at the position that could have some upside in an offense on the rise.

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 08:57:16 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (knee) is not participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of Thomas' injury is not known at this point, so owners should look for a possible update on the injury. He is expected to be a solid contributor in the passing game this season and can be a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 11:58:58 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (ankle) participated in practice Wednesday, Aug. 3, despite suffering an ankle injury during practice Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas appears to be fine and likely will receive plenty of targets in 2016. He is a bit of a risky option for owners since he has dealt with injuries over the past few seasons, but Thomas can be a No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

Jaguars | Julius Thomas dominant in OTAs

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 16:55:31 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas has looked unstoppable in OTAs, according to beat writer Hays Carlyon.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas started to click with Blake Bortles late in the year, catching four of his five touchdowns in the final seven games. He should be a major factor in the red zone in 2016 and could easily finish as a TE1.

Jaguars | Julius Thomas busy at OTAs

Mon, 06 Jun 2016 19:52:37 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas' situation is much more stable this season, as he and QB Blake Bortles are building rapport during the offseason program. "Julius looks good," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said Monday, June 6. "Guys that have been here have been relatively healthy and Julius has been one of those guys, so he's been able to get a lot of reps and a lot of work in so far."

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has posted 29 touchdowns over the past three seasons, which is even more than Seattle's Jimmy Graham and New England's Rob Gronkowski during the same span. If Thomas can stay healthy he is a tremendous sleeper for fantasy owners in the middle rounds on draft day.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles meets with Julius Thomas

Fri, 27 May 2016 13:53:34 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles said he met with TE Julius Thomas multiple times this offseason because he wants the same chemistry with Thomas that he had last year. "We had a chance this offseason to sit down multiple times, watch film and talk about things," Bortles said. "Talk about what he wanted from me and what I wanted from him and how we can quickly get on the same page to grow together."

Fantasy Tip: Bortles is coming off a solid 2015 season and will have plenty of weapons to work with this upcoming season. Thomas missed four games because of injury but was still able to record 455 yards and five touchdowns. Bortles should be considered a starting candidate in most leagues, while Thomas could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some deeper leagues.
