The team waived RB Edwin Baker, OG Colin Baxter, OT Charlie Bryant, LB Ricky Elmore, LB Darryl Gamble, CB Gregory Gatson, DE Logan Harrell, CB Arthur Hobbs, QB Jarrett Lee, P Robert Malone, CB De'Andre Presley, DE Damik Scafe, OF Stephen Schilling, TE Kory Sperry and WR Mike Willie. The team also placed SS Sean Cattouse (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve.

The San Diego Chargers might have gotten a glimpse into the future at center Monday, Dec. 5, when C Colin Baxter came on in place of the injured C Nick Hardwick (neck) in Week 13. "It's pretty impressive what he did," head coach Norv Turner said. Baxter held his own, and might be the center of the future with Hardwick an unrestricted free agent after this season and, according to one source, will be seeking a substantial contract.
