Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson was recently lauded by head coach Gus Bradley. Bradley said Robinson is extremely competitive and the drive to succeed and get better came from within for Robinson.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Robinson could be the team's No. 1 running back even when Toby Gerhart returns, though Gerhart will probably at least take away short-yardage and goal-line carries. Robinson is a decent investment this week against the Miami Dolphins for $4,700 on FantasyScore.
Mon, 20 Oct 2014 06:13:32 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson rushed 22 times for 127 yards in the Week 7 game Sunday, Oct. 19. He was the team's first 100-yard rusher in almost a calendar year. Head coach Gus Bradley was somewhat vague when asked if Robinson would keep the featured back role. "Yeah, I think so. We'll look at the film. He did a good job and we hope to get Toby (Gerhart) back," Bradley said.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson was aided by the team having a lead and not having to throw every down. His performance was encouraging, but it's going to be hard to repeat. He'll serve as a flex option on FantasyScore.
Sun, 19 Oct 2014 20:02:18 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson ran for a career-high 127 yards with a touchdown in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. "The last time I carried the ball 20 times I was in college," Robinson said Sunday, Oct. 19. "It's a great feeling. We knew it was coming. We've just got to stack them and up and get back to work."
Fantasy Tip: Robinson will be a hot add off the waiver wire this week in seasonal fantasy leagues. In FantasyScore, as long as his salary doesn't explode this week, he might be worth a look for one of your flex spots next time out.
Sun, 19 Oct 2014 08:43:58 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson is starting against the Cleveland Browns Sunday, Oct. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($3,000; 6% of your cap) is an excellent bargain bin option on FantasyScore today. However, their offensive line has been dismal this season. Temper your expectations.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 16:55:58 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Storm Johnson and Denard Robinson will split first- and second-down snaps in the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns, while RB Jordan Todman will handle third-down duties with RB Toby Gerhart (foot) ruled out for a second straight game.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson posted a rushing touchdown last week, and is your best bet in FantasyScore, especially at just $4,000 salary (or 8.0 percent of the cap). Robinson and Todman are $3,000 (or 6.0 percent of the cap), but figure to see fewer touches, especially Todman.
Wed, 08 Oct 2014 13:36:16 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Toby Gerhart, Denard Robinson, Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson have all shared carries in the backfield. The team ranks 31st in the league in rushing, averaging just 67 yards per game. Johnson is the wild card in the backfield, as he ran four times for a team-high 27 yards in his debut in Week 5. "It's not surprising to me," head coach Gus Bradley said. "I mentioned two weeks ago he had a good practice. Last week he had a good week, and it's that trust and he's building trust. For him to go in there and perform and really capture his opportunity was pretty cool to see. ... The runs he had were very impressive."
Johnson reinjured his ankle last Week, but he's expected to be fine for Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans. Johnson could become a starter for the team at some point this year, as the team hasn't been reluctant to trust their rookies on offense. Both general manager David Caldwell and Bradley think it's smarter to go with the younger player if competition is close between two players. Gerhart sprained his right foot in Week 5 and finished with a season-low four carries for nine yards while playing just 10 snaps.
Fantasy Tip: Gerhart ($3,700) is a bargain option at FantasyScore this week, assuming he plays. The Titans have been terrible at stopping the run. Johnson ($3,000) is riding high right now and could see more touches, though, if the team goes with the hot hand.
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 19:52:15 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson will continue to be involved in a rotation at running back with RB Toby Gerhart, and head coach Gus Bradley said the team strongly believes in Gerhart but will continue to search for the right mix at the position.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson has the speed to break a big run, but with the Jacksonville offensive line struggling and rookie Blake Bortles now starting at quarterback, points could remain hard to come by for the Jaguars. Given the situation, Robinson ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is an unwise gamble at FantasyScore in Week 5.
Mon, 29 Sep 2014 06:44:22 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson appeared to play in a rotation Sunday, Sept. 28. Gerhart rushed 10 times for 32 yards and Robinson had nine carries for 25 yards.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like they're pretty close to a 50-50 split. However, neither back has been able to find much running room behind that o-line. Both should be owned, but it's hard to start either of them right now.
Wed, 24 Sep 2014 21:29:14 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson more than doubled his previous high in snaps in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts, and his emergence is cutting into the playing time of RB Toby Gerhart. Head coach Gus Bradley said this week that Robinson has earned more reps and will continue to get them going forward.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson is not a fantasy factor just yet, but this situation is worth watching. If the former Michigan quarterback can grab the starting job from Gerhart at some point, but then he could emerge as a viable fantasy option during bye weeks.
Tue, 23 Sep 2014 06:22:40 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson will start to receive more targets in the near future. He had eight carries for 33 yards in Week 3. "I think that Denard has really showed to us during the last three weeks that he's earned the opportunity to get more reps," head coach Gus Bradley said. "We made a conscious decision this past week to get him more opportunities and he did a pretty good job so that will continue."
Fantasy Tip: Toby Gerhart has been dogged by the team's propensity to fall behind early and abandon the run. This news is another hit to his value. Gerhart is a meager flex option, while Robinson is a watch list player right now.
Tue, 12 Aug 2014 17:05:02 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart (hip) is the "lead dog" in the ground game, according to offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch. RBs Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman are also battling for carries. Gerhart is a candidate to lead the conference in carries, but there are questions about his ability since he has just 86 attempts over the past two seasons.
Mon, 11 Aug 2014 14:05:34 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart could be part of a running-back-by-committee approach this season with Gerhart getting around 15 carries a game, in the opinion of FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez.
Fantasy Tip: Even if the team does use some type of committee, Gerhart probably is still the top option for the team. Owners should consider Gerhart as a No. 2 or No. 3 running back during drafts. Jordan Todman, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson could also receive some carries during the season but only Todman should be a late-round option in deeper leagues.
Thu, 31 Jul 2014 08:57:50 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson has looked as a runner and a pass catcher during practice, in the opinion of USA Today Sports' Jim Corbett. Robinson bulked up to 210 pounds during the offseason.
Thu, 31 Jul 2014 06:51:53 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart is expected to be spelled by RBs Jordan Todman, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson so he doesn't reach the 300-carry plateau.
Fantasy Tip: Gerhart is still expected to be the leading back and makes a RB3 with upside. Todman, Robinson and Johnson will battle in camp for the backup role and could be worth an RB5 spot.
Sun, 20 Jul 2014 14:24:26 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Jordan Todman is viewed as a change-of-pace back, along with RB Denard Robinson, according to offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch. "Those two guys are truly change-of-pace backs," Fisch said. "Jordan really intrigues us with his burst, speed and acceleration… I'm excited about Denard."
Fantasy Tip: Todman has value as a RB4 or a handcuff to Toby Gerhart if he becomes the clear backup running back.
Wed, 18 Jun 2014 16:38:57 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson (hand) has had an excellent offseason after recovering from a right hand injury last year, according to general manager David Caldwell. "All offseason I've been working on regaining strength in my hand," Robinson said. "I feel comfortable now where I can make plays happen without thinking." Caldwell noted that Robinson has been catching everything thrown his way in offseason workouts.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson will compete with Jordan Todman to be the backup to Toby Gerhart. Robinson may be worth a gamble in deeper leagues if he surpasses Todman in training camp and the preseason.
Fri, 25 Apr 2014 20:14:14 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson weighed around 212 pounds when he reported for offseason workouts. Robinson was around 197 pounds but added the weight because he will only be a running back moving forward.
Fri, 25 Apr 2014 20:13:49 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman are expected to compete for the No. 2 running back job during training camp.
Thu, 06 Feb 2014 18:17:42 -0800
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said Thursday, Feb. 6, that the team is high on RB Denard Robinson going forward. "We're really optimistic about D-Rob," Caldwell said.
Fantasy Tip: With the team expected to let Maurice Jones-Drew test the open market, everyone moves up a spot on the depth chart unless Jones-Drew returns, a free agent is signed or the team drafts a replacement. Robinson might see a bigger role in the offense in 2014, but it remains to be seen if he will be an impact fantasy player or simply a depth player.
Thu, 06 Feb 2014 18:16:43 -0800
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said RB Denard Robinson is 205 pounds, and the team wants him at "215, 220 next season so he can finish runs."
Sat, 14 Dec 2013 09:41:49 -0800
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) said he will test his injured hamstring before the team's Week 15 game. He said he ran better Friday, Dec. 13, than he did earlier in the week but thinks his availability if 50-50 at this point. If he is not able to play, RB Jordan Todman will start and will be backed up by RBs Denard Robinson and Delone Carter.
Mon, 09 Dec 2013 08:26:29 -0800
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) is hoping to practice by Friday, Dec. 13.
Fantasy Tip: He seems pretty iffy for Week 15. If you own him, make plans to be without him for the contest against the Buffalo Bills. Jordan Todman will receive the start and could be a desperation flex play if MJD sits. Denard Robinson will likely back up Todman in that scenario.

Thu, 26 Sep 2013 15:13:30 -0700
The Jacksonville Jaguars are now listing RB Denard Robinson as a wide receiver on their depth chart, instead of "offensive weapon."
Fantasy Tip: It's a bit intriguing, but there really isn't anything to see here, folks. Move along.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 06:32:03 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew's (ankle) status is in doubt for Week 3. He's still experiencing swelling in the ankle. "It still bothers (him) when he goes up on the balls of his feet - he can still feel a little bit of an issue there," head coach Gus Bradley said. "The swelling is what is causing the pain. If we can get that out of there, we'll have a better idea of where he's at."
Fantasy Tip: If he can't go, and it's starting to look like he'll be limited at best, Jordan Todman would start. Denard Robinson would move up the depth chart, and Justin Forsett would remain the third-down back.
Mon, 05 Aug 2013 19:06:59 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson is listed at multiple positions on the team's first unofficial depth chart. Robinson is listed as the second-team wide receiver, fourth quarterback; third-team running back and second-team kick returner on the depth chart.
Thu, 01 Aug 2013 12:46:32 -0700
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been using RB Denard Robinson at running back, kick returner and in the wildcat formation during training camp because they thought they had him do too much during offseason workouts. Robinson lined up at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, punt returner and kick returner during offseason workouts but he was struggling with ball security during the workouts.
Mon, 29 Jul 2013 20:58:23 -0700
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson was used on three Wildcat plays in practice Monday, July 29. Robinson ran the ball once, handed off to RB Maurice Jones-Drew another time, and completed a pass to WR Mike X. Brown the other time. Robinson reportedly struggled with the Wildcat during organized team activities (OTAs), but head coach Gus Bradley thinks Robinson has the potential to run the trick play. "We did it in OTAs and a couple of times he ran the ball and fumbled the ball and he didn't know how to pitch," Bradley said. "We're not going to give up on that. (Offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch)'s philosophy is to get it in the playmaker's hands and we want to see if he's a playmaker and the threat he can give us."
Fantasy Tip: For fantasy purposes, Robinson's value is still way down. It is unlikely he'll see the field for more than a handful of plays to warrant consideration even in the deepest of leagues. Fantasy owners should monitor the situation, though, as the Jaguars need some excitement in their offense with shaky quarterback play.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson, who was drafted as a running back, ran some plays at quarterback during organized team activities Wednesday, May 15. Head coach Gus Bradley declined to say which kind of plays Robinson was running, though.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson has the speed and athleticism to be considered in some Wildcat formations for the Jaguars, but that's pure speculation at this juncture. Even if he is involved in some special packages on offense, it won't be enough to give him fantasy value in his first season.
Wed, 08 May 2013 05:25:21 -0700
