Miami Marlins SP David Phelps (forearm) has a stress fracture of the radius bone in his right forearm and will miss the remainder of the season.
Fantasy Tip: The Miami rotation is a mess with Justin Nicolino ($4,600, 9.2% of cap), Adam Conley ($3,100, 6.2% of cap), Brad Hand ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) and Kendry Flores following new-ace Tom Koehler ($5,800, 11.6% of cap). There is all kinds of risk starting any of them outside of NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, and even in those formats you should likely aim higher.

Miami Marlins SP Kendry Flores will take over the rotation spot previously held by SP David Phelps (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: As with any new pitcher, wait and see how Flores does in his first one or two starts and how he handles matchups before investing a FantasyScore roster spot and money on him.

Miami Marlins SP David Phelps (forearm) was put on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm strain Monday, Aug. 17, and P Erik Cordier was recalled from Class AAA New Orleans in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: It's unclear who will be replacing Phelps ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) in the starting rotation, but either way, the replacement is unlikely to be a strong option on FantasyScore, at least for the immediate future. Phelps was likely only owned by those in deep NL-only leagues.

Miami Marlins SP David Phelps lost his fifth straight decision as he lasted just 4 1/3 innings in an 8-6 loss to the New York Mets Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Phelps ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) almost got off the hook thanks to his team's comeback bid, but his record now stands at 4-8. His ERA (4.35) isn't bad and his ratio (32 walks, 73 strikeouts) is decent, but he has just had bad luck on the field. His price may be a bit too high for now.

Miami Marlins SP David Phelps is back in the starting rotation and will make the start against the Cincinnati Reds Friday, July 10.
Fantasy Tip: Phelps ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) had a 4.03 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with a 6.1 K/9 rate in 13 starts for the Marlins (82 2/3 innings) before being demoted to the bullpen. A matchup against the Reds in his first start back in the rotation makes him a very shaky option on FantasyScore.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 17:51:14 -0700
Miami Marlins P David Phelps is expected to remain in the bullpen as a long reliever for the foreseeable future.
Fantasy Tip: As long as Phelps ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is pitching in middle relief, he has minimal fantasy value. However, he was a respectable 4-4 with a 3.84 ERA in 13 appearances as a starter, so he could be the club's first option for a spot starter if the need arises.

Miami Marlins SP David Phelps stepped into the rotation for SP Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) in mid-April, but Alvarez is nearly ready to re-join the team from the 15-day disabled list. Phelps or SP Tom Koehler could be bumped from the rotation upon Alvarez's return.
Fantasy Tip: Phelps might make just one more start, but FantasyScore players will no longer want him on their radar if he is demoted or bumped.

Miami Marlins SP David Phelps has lost his arbitration case and will make $1.4 million this season. Phelps was looking for $1.875 million in arbitration.
