Sat, 18 Jun 2016 21:10:27 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored Saturday, June 18, against the Detroit Tigers to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Perez is hitting a cool .450 (18-for-40) with eight runs scored, five homers and 10 RBIs during his impressive hitting streak. He remains a tremendous low-end No. 1 receiver across most fantasy formats and DFS play.

Royals | Salvador Perez homers again Wednesday

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 20:38:42 -0700

Kansas City Royals C/DH Salvador Perez hit a three-run homer against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, June 15. It was his 11th of the season and marked the second time in as many games that he homered.

Fantasy Tip: Perez received a break from the rigors of catching Wednesday, since he was pencilled into the lineup as the designated hitter. He is batting .293 with 32 RBI through 57 games and should continue to be viewed as one of the top catching options in fantasy baseball.

Royals | Three KC regulars taking a seat

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 15:02:08 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Jarrod Dyson and Paulo Orlando and 1B Kendrys Morales are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 15. OF Whit Merrifield is in left field and hitting leadoff, OF Reymond Fuentes is starting in right field and batting seventh and C Drew Butera is doing the catching and hitting ninth with C Salvador Perez serving as the designated hitter. Also, 2B Christian Colon is starting at the keystone and is hitting eighth against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Merrifield has become a start in KC in short order with a .326 average (31-for-95), and he's homered in back-to-back games for his first two big league long balls. While he's hot, continue using him as a value pick in DFS. He's also worth adding for depth in deep mixed and AL-only leagues with everyday playing time. Fuentes, Butera and Colon all profile as low-end dart throws as deep sleepers in DFS.

Royals | KC in for tough time tonight?

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 13:10:44 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain is hitting just .192 with two RBI in the last five years over 26 at-bats against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber, who he faces Wednesday, June 15. SS Alcides Escobar is batting .190 in 42 at-bats against Kluber. 1B Kendrys Morales is hitting .150 with an RBI in 20 at-bats and C Salvador Perez is hitting .160 with two RBI in 25 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Cain and Perez are must-starts in all fantasy formats despite the sketchy history against the Klubot in recent times. Escobar is useful for his speed in deeper leagues but doesn't contribute much else and is a weak daily pick. Morales is having a down year but has been unfortunate in the BABIP column to date. Look to buy low on him in seasonal leagues if you can.

Fantasy Tip: More hot hitting from Perez, who is 12-for-24 with three home runs and four RBI during his current six-game hitting streak. He's now at .294-10-29 for the season and is one of the top fantasy backstops. Make sure Perez is in your everyday lineup.

Royals | Salvador Perez leaves the yard

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 15:55:56 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Sunday, June 12, in a win against the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: He did the same thing in a losing cause in Friday's opener and is batting .281 with nine homers and 27 RBI through 54 games, although his two home runs in this series account for his only runs and RBI this month. Perez has three multi-hit games in his last four outings and remains one of the best backstops in fantasy, so keep him in lineups as the Royals host the Cleveland Indians for the first of three games on Monday in a critical American League Central showdown.

Royals | Salvador Perez successful against Josh Tomlin

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 23:28:16 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez had two hits against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin on Sunday, June 4, in a 7-1 loss. Perez is now 13-for-20 against Tomlin.

Fantasy Tip: Sometimes a player is ready to play right away, and it turned out to be Perez. It's safe to say you can start using him in DFS formats, especially when Tomlin is the pitcher.

Fantasy Tip: Perez missed almost a week of action and returns to face an effective Josh Tomlin. Give him a day to kick the rust off before using him in DFS.
