Royals | Two Royals sitting Wednesday

Wed, 25 May 2016 09:34:16 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales and OF Jarrod Dyson are out of the lineup Wednesday, May 25. C Salvador Perez is in at designated hitter and hitting fifth, and OF Whit Merrifield is hitting second.

Fantasy Tip: Salvy has had a good month of May with a .309-3-10 line. He's a daily consideration at catcher. Merrifield is 6-for-18 (.333) with three doubles to begin his career. He's a basement option against Tyler Duffey.

Royals | Salvador Perez has five hits

Tue, 24 May 2016 00:49:46 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez had five hits Monday, May 23, including a double, triple and a run batted in, as the Royals scored a 10-4 win over the Minnesota Twins. Perez has now hit safely in nine straight games, and his average went from .245 to .270 in this game alone.

Fantasy Tip: Perez has been one of the stronger hitting catchers in American League and mixed fantasy leagues, and as such he should be in your lineup. Perez is solid in all formats and should be activated as quick as possible.

Royals | Kendrys Morales, Jarrod Dyson out

Sun, 22 May 2016 10:14:49 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales and OF Jarrod Dyson are not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon Sunday, May 22. C Salvador Perez will serve as the designated hitter, while C Drew Butera will start at catcher and is batting ninth. OF Paulo Orlando will start in right field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Butera has a decent batting average but has only has 12 at-bats on the season, so owners should be able to find better players for their lineups. Orlando should be a solid starting candidate in daily fantasy leagues because he is hitting .533 with one home runs and six RBI over the last seven days.

Royals | Three Royals may have success Friday

Fri, 20 May 2016 15:32:54 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain, 1B Kendrys Morales and C Salvador Perez have all had some success in the last five years against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana, who they face Friday, May 20. Cain is hitting .319 with three RBI in 47 at-bats, Morales is hitting .308 with a home run and five RBI in 26 at-bats and Perez is hitting .378 with two long balls and eight RBI in 45 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Cain and Perez are must-start guys in all traditional formats and are likely popular plug-ins in daily lineups, too. However, Morales has been one of the bigger disappointments with just five home runs and a .195/.252/.336 line in 40 games. Keep in mind Quintana is not the same pitcher he's been in recent seasons, so all three hitters tonight could struggle. Morales is certainly one to avoid.

Royals | Three Royals out for Game 1

Wed, 18 May 2016 08:29:08 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez, 2B Omar Infante and OF Paulo Orlando are out for the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, May 18. 2B Christian Colon, C Drew Butera and OF Jarrod Dyson are hitting in the final three spots in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Butera is 4-for-10 (.400) with three doubles on the season. He's a shot in the dark against knuckle-baller Steven Wright. Dyson has wheels, but he's hitting just .217. He and Colon aren't ripe DFS flyers today.

Royals | Salvador Perez drives in three runs

Wed, 11 May 2016 19:27:46 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer against the New York Yankees Wednesday, May 11.

Fantasy Tip: Perez currently has a four-game hitting streak on the heels of a 1-for-16 stretch and is now batting .234 with five home runs and 18 RBI. Despite the low average, he still deserves to be viewed as a solid catching option in all fantasy formats.

Wed, 04 May 2016 09:30:53 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez is out of the lineup Wednesday, May 4, with C Drew Butera hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Butera is 3-for-7 (.429) on the season, but he's not a good flyer against Stephen Strasburg.

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 11:02:46 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez and 2B Omar Infante are not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright Sunday, April 24. 2B Christian Colon will start at second base and is batting seventh, while C Drew Butera will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Colon has collected only two hits in 10 at-bats this season and probably can be avoided in all leagues. Butera has received only three at-bats and is not a strong fantasy option.

Royals | Salvador Perez peppers box score

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 23:50:43 -0700

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez homered and had a career-high five RBI Tuesday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Salvy was off to a bit of a slow start, but he remains one of the better catching options worth DFS consideration most nights.

Royals | Salvador Perez sitting Saturday

Sat, 16 Apr 2016 12:18:14 -0700

Kansas City Royal C Salvador Perez will receive the day off Saturday, April 16, against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray. C Drew Butera will start in his place and bat ninth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Don't expect much from Butera, but he's worth a look as a cheap starter and would enable more salary to be spent at other positions in daily formats.
