Orioles | Dylan Bundy could remain in rotation

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 19:33:58 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy won for the first time as a starter, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five over five innings against the Cleveland Indians Friday, July 22, and he could remain a starter for the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy has posted solid strikeout numbers out of the bullpen, and he is worth a grabbing in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats as he transitions into the rotation.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy to start Sunday

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 07:18:44 -0700

Baltimore Orioles RP Dylan Bundy will start Sunday, July 17, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy has given a mixed bag with a 3.08 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP in 38 innings. He has struck out 32 in 38 innings. He would be a low-end DFS flyer with a decent matchup.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy impressive Wednesday

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 19:04:48 -0700

Baltimore Orioles RP Dylan Bundy struck out seven batters in 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, July 6, while allowing three hits and two walks. Manager Buck Showalter said that he could receive a chance to start, based on his health and performance.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 14 1/3 innings over six appearances and has lowered his ERA from 4.94 to 3.08. The 23-year-old right-hander is worth owning in AL-only and cavernous mixed fantasy leagues right now and could be a solid option in DFS if he is moved into the rotation.

Orioles | Brad Brach, Mychal Givens could close

Sun, 01 May 2016 08:36:03 -0700

Updating a previous report, if Baltimore Orioles RP Zach Britton (ankle) misses an extended amount of time due to a sprained left ankle, RPs Brad Brach and Mychal Givens appear to be the most likely candidates to receive save opportunities. P Dylan Bundy is considered a long-shot to be used in a ninth-inning role because of his low strikeout totals, as well as the fact that the team may decide to stretch him out so that he can be used as a starter later this year.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, Britton is considered day-to-day and he is looking to avoid his first stint on the disabled list since 2012. He is one of the top closers in the game and should remain stashed in all fantasy formats. Brach appears to have an edge over Givens because of his extensive closing experience as a minor leaguer in the San Diego Padres' organization, while Givens has struggled mightily versus left-handed batters this year. Lefties are hitting .533 against Givens in 2016, while righties are batting just .182. Brach and Givens are worth adding in AL-only fantasy leagues, as well as in any other format if you're desperate for saves.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy could return to starting role

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 12:38:22 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy could return to a starting role later this year if he performs well enough out of the bullpen, according to manager Buck Showalter. Bundy is out of minor league options and will be a part of the opening day roster. He has a 3.24 ERA through 8 1/3 spring innings after being bothered by injuries the last couple years.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy has already had Tommy John surgery, and shoulder issues delayed him last year. He's the O's No. 2 prospect still, and he has upside for the long term, but this year could be another lost season for his fantasy value if he spends most of it in the bullpen. He's strictly a stash candidate in deep AL leagues for now.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy feels good

Fri, 19 Feb 2016 07:11:11 -0800

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy said he feels good physically Friday, Feb. 19, and is prepared to be a reliever in the majors.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy is out of options, and he'll have to pitch out of the bullpen unless an injury occurs to a starter. The former top prospect has battled elbow and shoulder injuries the last few years but could be a reliever to target in the final few rounds of fantasy drafts.

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (shoulder, forearm) threw 20 fastballs off a mound last week without any pain in his shoulder or forearm.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy is out of minor league options, and he'll be in the bullpen if he makes the team. He's one to keep on your watch list and potentially snag off waivers.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy headed to the AFL

Thu, 22 Oct 2015 17:57:36 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (shoulder) will pitch for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League, according to a team official. He has been throwing all of his pitches during bullpen sessions in Sarasota, Fla., and is considered ready to face hitters.

Fantasy Tip: The 22-year-old right-hander, once considered one of baseball's top prospects, has an excellent shot at making the Orioles' 25-man roster out of spring training because he is out of options. Owners in dynasty and keeper leagues should keep tabs on his progress.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy to throw Friday

Thu, 15 Oct 2015 17:50:40 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (shoulder) is expected to throw a combination of fastballs and changeups during a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday, Oct. 16. He threw exclusively fastballs in a 25-pitch session Monday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: The 22-year-old right-hander was once considered one of baseball's top prospects but his progress has been slowed by multiple injuries. Bundy should continue to be monitored by owners in keeper and dynasty leagues and he has a good shot to pitch in the majors next season because he is out of minor league options.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy throws Wednesday

Thu, 08 Oct 2015 19:36:30 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (shoulder) threw 20 pitches during a bullpen session Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the team's spring training facility in Sarasota, Fla. He experienced no physical problems and displayed good rotation and velocity, according to player development director Brian Graham. Bundy will not be able to pitch in the instructional league but the organization is still considering having him participate in winter ball or pitch in the Arizona Fall League.

Fantasy Tip: The 22-year-old Bundy has been considered one of the top pitching prospects in baseball for several years but his progress has been delayed by numerous injuries. He only pitched in eight games for Class AA Bowie in 2015 before being sidelined with a shoulder injury. Bundy is out of minor league options, so the Orioles must keep him on their major league roster next season if he is healthy. Keeper and dynasty league owners should continue to keep tabs on him.
