Astros | Jose Altuve comes in hot

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 13:34:58 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve is batting .333 (33-for-99) in his last 23 games.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is by far the best to choose from at his position on FantasyScore in the wild-card tilts, but he'll cost you a pretty penny.

Astros | Jose Altuve hits 40th double

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 06:13:32 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 with two runs, a double, a home run and two RBI during the Astros' 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday, Oct. 3. It was Aluve's 40th double and 15th home run of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) hasn't been quite as dominant in 2015, but he more than doubled his previous career high of seven home runs, which helps the dip in stolen bases and batting average. Continue to view him as a high-end option at the keystone in all fantasy formats, and the billing won't change heading into the 2016 season.

Rangers | Derek Holland hampered during game

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 00:15:06 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Derek Holland was hit in his left hand by a ball off the bat of Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve in the first inning, and Holland said it bothered him the rest of the day. Holland went on to give up seven hits and four runs in five innings.

Fantasy Tip: Holland ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) could have one more start left in him before any postseason play, so keep an eye on whether Texas skips over him if that hand is still an issue. As it is, Holland's FantasyScore price is a bit too high for the production you will get.

Astros | Jose Altuve launches a pair

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 21:06:03 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in a 9-7 win over the Texas Rangers Saturday, Sept. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has been showing some power lately, and he has four doubles, a triple and two homers in his last five games. He is a must-start option at FantasyScore against lefties and a strong play against any opponent right now.

Astros | Jose Altuve playing Saturday

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 08:25:20 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (undisclosed) will start at second base against Texas Rangers SP Derek Holland Saturday, Sept. 26, and is batting first in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) suffered an injury in the last game but appears to be fine. Altuve has played well this season and should be a starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Astros | Jose Altuve leaves game early Friday

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 05:32:15 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (undisclosed) left the game early Friday, Sept. 25, after colliding with SS Carlos Correa during a play. Manager A.J. Hinch said Altuve did not suffer a concussion and hopes that Altuve will be able to play Saturday, Sept. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the lineup to see if Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) will be able to play Saturday. Altuve has been one of the better hitters in the league this season and should be a starting option if he is not dealing with a serious injury.

Astros | Jose Altuve continues to hit

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 16:22:23 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve is hitting .409 (9-for-22) with six extra-base hits in his last five games.

Fantasy Tip: Although he lacks power, Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) remains a major contributor in the other categories and is one of the most consistent second baseman in the league. He's always a strong play on FantasyScore.

Astros | Jose Altuve likes hitting in Oakland

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 10:07:43 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve is in the midst of a 17-game hitting streak at O.co Coliseum, the home of the Oakland Athletics and is hitting .366 (26-for-71) with eight RBI and nine runs in that stretch. However, he was hitting .173 (9-for-52) in 12 previous road games before Thursday, Aug. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is typically worth paying up for on a nightly basis on FantasyScore. However, he'll be facing one of the better pitchers in the American League tonight in Sonny Gray, so you'll need to rethink that approach.

Astros | Jose Altuve reaches milestone

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 15:26:03 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, July 12, giving him a major league-leading 500 hits since the start of the 2013 season.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been a hitting machine the last couple of years, and his steady bat and stolen base potential make him one of the safest second base options at FantasyScore.

Astros | Jose Altuve continues to produce

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 16:07:18 -0700

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve has hit safely in 15 of his last 16 games, and he's batting .344 with 16 runs scored and eight stolen bases over that time.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been one of the safest second base buys on FantasyScore all season long, and there shouldn't be any reason that that changes anytime soon.
